Harvey Keitel As The New Boss On The Office?

One of the producers of The Office spoke to E! on Tuesday and floated the idea that Harvey Keitel would make a great replacement for Steve Carell on The Office.

"He's probably the only guy who can do it, and he's doing TV now. I haven't started any talks with his people, but Harvey would do a great job - a very different energy. And we don't want to bring in another Michael, having someone play a very similar character because we have such a high regard for Steve."

You know, it is an interesting choice. Yesterday when I first read about it I gave it some thought. Your first reaction is no, it couldn't work, but then you think about it and realize if they are going to keep the show on the air you can't just have someone who is replica of Steve. Even in some of Harvey's most famous violent movies you do see there is some comedy. In Pulp Fiction, he plays his part in such a way that it is almost humorous.

I think with someone of his range the possibilities of what direction his character could take are endless. I do wonder whether he can be light enough or lessen his intensity for a half hour sitcom though.
