An up and coming starlet whispered to a friend of hers that the reason she just landed a new role in a very popular movie that will be coming out this year is because her mother was willing to sleep with a few people involved in casting. It landed her the role according to the underage star. Ewww!
"in a very popular movie coming out this year" makes me think it must be a franchise film - something that we already know will be big. Any new roles/starlets in the Harry Potter series? I don't think Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is coming out this year, or I'd suggest the person who was cast in that.

Being it's now already mid-September, wouldn't most movies be almost finished post-production by now? Which would mean she could not have "just landed" a role...for a movie "coming out this year."

(and sorry to call you out in this, MISCH--but I'm 46, am still considered fairly "hot," and have great sex...often. Please know that women in their late 40's and 50's having sex is not to be considered gross!)
(but I get that having sex on the casting couch for your KID is pretty gross, if that's what you meant :) )

ReplyDeleteWhile having sex is not exclusively for the young, have grossly irresponsible sex (for example, to get your daughter a role) is something I would only vaguely excuse if the person in question was young and naive. If you're in your 40s and doing this, then you have no excuse. I'm sorry, you're not an empowered older women in that scenario, you're just icky.
What if the director is hot? Would it still be icky then??
