Today's Blind Items

This C+list actress on a very hit network ensemble show is working on a HUGE settlement agreement because she got pregnant. Not so much because she is pregnant, but because the baby belongs to the married producer of the show and wants to keep things very, very quiet.

  1. Someone from Glee?

  2. @Lady J...I so hope you are right.

  3. Most shows have multiple producers, who I'm sure make a good living. However, if they are to pay big bucks they presumably must also be a creator/owner and not just a producer for hire. I suppose HUGE could also be a play on a show title.

  4. Daveb, like Big Bang Theory?

  5. BBT is an interesting guess, and Chuck Lorre (one of the producers/creators) is married. He'd certainly be well off with the 2.5 Men money...

  6. I'm going to go with Matthew Weiner and someone else from Mad Men

  7. My first thought was Sofia Vergara. I thought I remembered a Blind Items post a while back about a "diva" from an ensemble type show that got away with everything because she was secretly screwing around with one of the creators/producers...

  8. "Hung" is not huge, or even a bit hit. Just wanted to type those words.

  9. Is she going to have the baby? Seems like that would be a problem...aren't shows shooting now?

  10. I wonder if this is related to a blind from a week+ ago about an actress sleeping with a producer of her show?
Is Mad Men on a network, though? It's on AMC here in Canada - not sure what that is.

AMC is AMC in the States too. [Threadjack] Watch Jon Hamm discuss it with Zach Galifianakis. So funny, as are all the videos from this Between Two Ferns series.

  12. I was thinking big bang theory too, but that chic would not ruin her career. This is her second chance, and it is even bigger than the first.

  13. Thanks Christina - so is that considered a network or cable station in the U.S.?

  14. @ rocket queen

AMC is considered a cable channel

I am confuse with what is cable and network

  16. Network is ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox, and the WB. Sometimes Enty refers to the WB as an "almost network" so we can probably rule that one out. Tons of shows that this could be.

Well, Marg Helgenberger is leaving CSI. Maybe to conceal a pregnancy?

  18. I don't think it's Glee, all of the likely producers are openly gay. What about Gossip Girl?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Tom Hanks ("HUGE= "Big"?)is an exec producer on "BIG Love" & weren't there whispers of him philandering with Ginnifer? I know HBO is cable, but hmmmmmm. Maybe another new show?

  20. I'm thinking the Fox show Bones, with David Boreanaz, who as well as starring on it has a producer credit, too. He obviously has a very good reason to keep *yet another* settlement with *yet another* female very, very quiet.

  21. Huge is a show on ABC Family, supposed to be a summer hit. That chick from Hairspray is in it

So many hit ensemble shows with forgettable C list actors...

    CSI: anywhere
    Law and Order: SVU
    The Mentalist
    Criminal Minds
    Grey's Anatomy

    ...for starters.

For grins, I'll go with that annoying blonde woman from CSI: Miami and some random producer. Doesn't Bruckheimer produce it?

  23. Sounds like someone from Glee, but IDK if ALL the producers are gay...

  24. ea73 - Do you mean Emily Procter? She just recently announced she and her boyfriend are expecting their first baby. No idea who the producer is and maybe the boyfriend's agreeing to a cover up for $$$$????

  25. Marg Helgenberger is 52 years old!

  26. I don't get the use of the term "settlement agreement." Not because I think it's a clue to the blind, but because it's a weird choice of words here. Don't you have to serve someone with charges before a settlement agreement is reached? Or am I just rusty on my legal lingo?

  27. @ea73

You may be onto something because Emily Proctor (the blonde from CSI Miami) announced that she was expecting a child a week or so ago.

  28. Sarah Hyland from Modern Family

  29. Why are all these freakin people getting knocked up? I made it to 28,almost 29, and managed to not get saddled with a baby friend (shout out to Michael K).

    It can be done, people!

  30. Whoever....Am I surprised they had sex...no, but no protection .....these people are insane...and his total lack of regard for his wife's health really pisses me off...

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm with the people who wonder about this blind. For starters, what is a "settlement"? Is this a huge payment to her that allows her out of her contract so that she can have the child? Is this a private arrangement, the producer paying her in exchange for her silence? If he is the father of a former employee's baby, he'll be liable for child support anyway, so I imagine this must be some private arrangement. I also suspect that the "and" should be a "who" in the wording of the blind.

  32. @Just Another Blond, you are SUCH a blond! "why do they keep getting knocked up" you ask? didn't you read about the HUGE settlement money? And HUGE is in caps! Hello!

Yes! Emily Proctor is the one I was thinking of-could not remember her name. And I didn't even hear that she was pregnant! I definitely think it's her, then. And Jerry Bruckheimer, as he no doubt will throw tons of cash at her and her boyfriend under these circumstances.

  34. To have a settlement does not mean there is a civil complaint or anything. It means someone has a legal claim - sex harassment? a claim for child support? - and in order to not file in public court and make news, they are settling to keep it quiet.

We settle cases all the time - before a complaint is filed - if the case is really bad. If the case is crappy, we say go ahead, file and we'll defend against it.

So the term settlement isn't strange. The fact that, like you all said, no one uses BC is strange. Of course, no birth control is 100%.

    ReplyDelete
  35. So the actress and her legal representative sit down with the producer and his representation and they hammer out a payment arrangement to acknowledge his paternity and to indemnify the producer from future paternity litigation? Why didn't Enty just say so?

    ReplyDelete
  36. To throw someone else out there, wasn't there a BI this year about the oldest daughter on Modern Family hooking up with someone on the show or maybe producer? She's at least of age, maybe 20 (though she plays 16 on the show). But, I guess if I don't know her name, she's probably not C+ list. :)

  37. That may be why Proctor's looked so puffy during the last part of the season. But I thought she was gay?

She's not young -- why would it be such a scandal if she had a kid, and why would Bruckheimer be willing to pay her off? Is it Caruso's kid? He does have a track record with this sort of thing.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I totally thought Sofia Vergara from Modern Family for this one too.

  39. Cobie Smulders from how I met your mother. She could definitely be C list and was VERY quietly pregnant particularly in comparison with Alyson Hannigan
