Obligatory Bachelorette Post - Spoilers Too In Case You Watch
So, I knew I was going to have to write this post because I feel an obligation to at least make a pretense of caring about The Bachelor and Bachelorette. Unlike other competitive reality shows which I love like Survivor or Amazing Race or Top Chef or Project Runway, it seems that celebrity status seems to only come to Bachelor contestants. Sometimes the Project Runway winner or someone really unique from one of the other shows will get 15 minutes, but for some reason we are always stuck with a Bachelor or Bachelorette for a very long time.
Anyway, I watched the show last night. I had not watched all season but I have been keeping up so at least I would know what I was talking about today. I have to admit that I actually liked the final show last night. To me it looked real. To me it looked like Ali and Roberto were in love. I liked how she didn't leave Chris on the hook and make him look or feel even worse. Do I think Ali and Roberto will be together forever? See, that gets you into trouble because none of these things ever work out, BUT the one that has been the most successful was a Bachelorette so there is hope. I think though that Ali loves being the center of attention and is loving this being famous thing and having paps take her picture and if she goes off to a corner somewhere and gets married that it will all go away.
Can she give that up? Fame is tough to walk away from when you get a taste of it. What do you think? Is it going to last?
