Kevin Costner In Never Released Comedy
Back in 1986 when Kevin Costner was still making moves that were watchable, he made an appearance in a short comedy film which was a satire about cowboys. The movie, Bad Day, was never released to the public until now. The director, punk singer Exene Cervenka, decided to make it available as a fundraiser for people in the Gulf Coast region.
"I have friends in New Orleans, and they're directly affected by the disaster because they're breathing in this toxic air every day and their businesses are suffering. They have to live knowing that their way of life has been compromised maybe... well, for years... "
If you are not a fan of Kevin Costner, the movie also stars X frontman John Doe, Grammy winner Dave Alvin, and Oscar-winning writer Michael Blake. You get to name your own price for the 20 minute film.

Bravo, Exene!
ReplyDeleteFor those who don't know, she was married to Viggo. After John Doe, of course.
John Doe???
ReplyDeleteI hope they raise lots of money. That region still hasn't recovered from Katrina.
Really? You'll do it for a problem that has (just being honest) barely affected them, but you didn't do it for Katrina?
ReplyDeleteCheck out "Company Men" when it comes out. They put Tommy Lee Jones, Ben Affleck and Chris Cooper out front, but Kevin Costner is GREAT in a supporting role.
ReplyDeleteIt's about three company execs who get "downsized" and how their lives unfold after that.
I saw it at Sundance and it's great. Questioned why I was going to see it, along with several others, after having been fired myself last year, but it really is a good movie. Affleck is good, too, btw.
