Katie Holmes Gets Another Acting Job
Well, someone out there must think Katie Holmes still has the ability to act. I have not seen anything to suggest that since her marriage to Tom Cruise. It has been one disaster after the next and she was not very good in any of them. So, it was not just the movie choice, it was her. She had a lot of promise, but now she seems kind of vacant and hollow.
I guess the vacant and hollow look must be in though because Adam Sandler wants her to co-star along side him and Al Pacino in a new movie called Jack & Jill. Funny enough, it is not about people going up a hill to fetch a pail of water. That would be good though.
Instead it is a movie where Adam Sandler would play Jack and Jill and Katie would presumably play Jack's wife, although it would be interesting to see her play Jill's wife. Al Pacino is going to play himself so I guess there will be a lot of mumbling, fingers through the hair and the occasional hoo hah. Adam recently shot a movie with Jennifer Aniston so I guess he is not afraid of box office poison. Next time he should go for Nicole Kidman and round out the triumvirate.

ReplyDeleteKatie hasn't had a hit movie since Batman Begins. Never should have left that franchise.
ReplyDeleteKatie Holmes has always been a terrible actress! Adam Sandler is definitely going down a slippery slope-remember how well Mr. Deeds did after he took on Winona Ryder as his costar? And how about Kate Beckinsale in Click?! What an idiot-is it that no good actresses will work with him??
ReplyDeletePoor Al Pacino!
ReplyDeleteand Kidman acts with Nicolas Cage in a Schumacher movie and it's a very awful idea
I don't get what this Jack and Jill mess is about.
ReplyDeleteSandler is so one note. I tried watching Punch Drunk Love, but was bored out of my mind.
I do LOVE me some, Don't Mess with the Zohan.
I enjoy when he does drama, like in the film where he was the chef. I forget the name.
Katie Holmes is a waste of space for me.
@ Share-exactly! what a dipsh!# to break from that...total babosa (and with little talent to boot)
ReplyDeleteThe only movie i liked sandler in was the drama, depressed flick with co-star Don Cheadle. Cheadle stole the scenes though.
ReplyDeleteI really want to see out-takes of Sandler mocking Tommy Boy.
ReplyDeleteDoes Tom buy her roles?
ReplyDeleteShe was pretty good in Pieces of April. It's been all down hill since then. How bad is she going to suck as Jackie O?
ReplyDeleteLordy - that is an ugly, ugly photo of her. Besides - she doesn't smile. She smirks. And when she does it throws off her entire face. When she smiles, and its rare, she looks okay.
ReplyDeleteNOT to defend KatE but her weird smirk/smile is Bell's Palsy on the side of her face. She can't help it. Still makes her look like she's being uppity though
ReplyDelete"She had a lot of promise, but now she seems kind of vacant and hollow."
ReplyDeleteWhen you sell your soul to marry Tom Cruise, you get that vacant hollow look.
That *is* a horrible photo. Someone hand her a comb!
ReplyDeleteDoes she really suffer from Bell's Palsy? One of my brothers mysteriously came down with it over a year ago and still suffers from some symptoms. I sympathize with her but that doesn't excuse her terrible acting.
And I still don't understand how and why marrying Cruise gets her cast in so many movies when she just cannot act. Why do producers risk casting her when she's horrible? I.do.not.get.it.
Er...before TC? She's the weak link in Batman Begins! For crying out loud, in that bit in the car after Zasz is killed in the courthouse and she's taking Bruce on a tour of the underbelly of Gotham (ie. lower Wacker Drive), and he's at the second lowest point in his life, she actually delivers part of her judgy monologue as a bizarre sort of crooning. Ew.
ReplyDeleteThat half-smile thing does NOT work for her. She looks like she has bell's palsy. I kind of like Katie. Had a lil crush on her and her puppy dog eyes in Dawson's Creek.
ReplyDeletenow, see, punch drunk love was the one sandler movie i had a hard time getting through. i love him, i really think he's grown some over the years, and he's great with kids. i actually thought most of "funny people" was damn good. plus i've heard he's a really good human being.
ReplyDeleteis he directing this movie? maybe he can get her to lighten up, bring out a personality. IF tommy girl stays off the set.
