Hugh Hefner Says Women Are Sex Objects
Forget about that age old question of whether Playboy makes sex objects of women, Hugh Hefner says women are sex objects and he likes it that way. In an interview with The NY Daily News, Hef says, "The notion that Playboy turns women into sex objects is ridiculous. Women are sex objects. If women weren't sex objects, there wouldn't be another generation. It's the attraction between the sexes that makes the world go 'round. That's why women wear lipstick and short skirts."
I think Hef kind of misses the point here. Although I think all species make some kind of effort to make themselves more attractive for reproduction and the survival of that species I think what Playboy does to a certain extent is saying that the only thing women are good for is sex and that all women need to look exactly like the women in Playboy or you are not ideal. It does not become about advancement of a species but instead is about some fantasy world that does not exist and that if men go through their lives trying to find a mate that looks exactly like a woman in Playboy that the species would die out because it does not really have a basis in reality.
OK. That might be a little much for a Monday morning. In the rest of the interview he talks about how he has sex twice a week, has had 2,000 women and was faithful for the entirety of his marriage in the 1980's.
Somewhere in some unreal dimension Don Draper is reading Hefner's remarks very, very blankly... and Roger Sterling is back on his knee in blackface singing Hef a Jolson love song.

ReplyDelete@chimez - bahahahaha
ReplyDeleteI´ll drink to that, @Chimez!
ReplyDeleteSince Viagra only came on the market in 1998, I can believe HH was faithful during his marriage. He was probably pretty inactive, too. (Thanks for a reason to procrastinate and google "history of viagra"...)
ReplyDeleteThat's funny Hef, I haven't noticed that countries where women wear abayas and hijabs have trouble continuing to produce new generations. Attractiveness is culturally defined, and your magazine helps shape our culture and makes some people think that having big boobs and no brain is attractive.
ReplyDeleteWonder what's going to happen when he dies?
ReplyDeleteI've always felt that Hef's sex life is not nearly as spectacular as he claims.
ReplyDeleteHis daughter has been running the empire for years. He is just part of the brand at this point.
ReplyDeleteDoes he have early stage dementia? Sounds like he has been drinking his own Koolaide and should stop. He reminds me of Grandpa Simpson, someone no one listens to.
ReplyDeleteTo say it with the words of the devine Patsy Stone: Oh for God's sake, just die!!!
ReplyDeletelol, all of you.
ReplyDeleteAs for Hef, wasn't he the best guess for the old dude who had to have the women serially rotated on his penis (after Viagra, of course)? Grandpa needs a new hobby.
LOL Mina.
ReplyDeleteThe man is just a repulsive living version of the Crypt Keeper from Tales from the Crypt.
words to Hef: Give it up already you sad old goat.
I recommend (if you have a strong stomach...) reading the self-published tome Upstairs by Jill Ann Spaulding. Hard to verify what she wrote (and sometimes hard to get through the typos etc), but it casts an even more unfavorable light on Hefner. Google it, its easily available as a pdf download. He's really an awful person.
ReplyDeleteGood one Chimez!
ReplyDeleteNothing about his quotes surprise me.
lol @ mina!
ReplyDelete@la dona- i used to frequent the gnd boards at eonline a couple years ago and they were constantly talking about that book by jillann. even though it can't be verified, most of what she wrote was indirectly confirmed by kendra in her book too and gnd fans for a long time believe her book is at least 90% accurate. creepy if so. the bathtub sex night was all sorts of ick nast!
idkw, but the guy and playboy are fascinating to me. i know a lot of girls that have posed and/or worked his parties and while they never give up the deets, i can't help but wonder which of them has participated- apparently all centerfolds have to sleep with him!
Nah...I disagree. I don't think Playboy makes it seem as if women are only good for sex anymore than Playgirl makes it seem the only thing men are good for is sex. It goes both ways. I've always sorta viewed it as a means of admiring the naked body. Pornos where women/men act like complete dingbats I could see making this statement but not so much Playgirl/Playboy.
ReplyDeleteI feel much more pressure to live up to the stick skinny images portrayed on television and fashion magazines/advertisements than I do Playboy.
:::yawn:::
ReplyDeleteHugh Hefner thinks women are objects? SHOCKING!!! *L*
