Halle Berry Says It Was Not Love With Gabriel - Just A Baby

I just finished reading the Halle Berry interview in Vogue and I think she pretty much said that she and Gabriel Aubry hooked up, had sex and then Halle got pregnant. No love, just some dating that led to a daughter. "And while it was not a love connection for us, he was absolutely the right person to have this child with because she is going to have an amazing father."

She also says the two have never really lived together. "We are back to how it was before: living apart, raising our daughter."

Very strange. She says lots of nice things about Gabriel. Reading between the lines though you can tell there were some disagreements about something which was probably about money or time spent with Nahla. They did a great job of pretending they were together. You know, except when you would always see pictures of Halle alone and would never see Gabriel.

Apparently the only reason Halle agreed to even talk about the whole thing was because this is the September issue of Vogue. The biggest issue. Not that her story is not interesting, but I would have gladly let someone else on the cover if they had something juicier to tell. I also dislike the photo they chose for the cover. It is supposed to be Vogue. This shot looks like every issue of Redbook.

  1. So basically she's already admitting what everyone knew anyway? *shrug*

  2. Cannot stand this woman! It's a good thing she's so pretty because that is ALL she has going for herself. What kind of narcissistic bitch goes out to find the prettiest baby daddy she can, has the baby and then makes it about "poor Halle" all the time? I'm surprised she didn't try to pay G.A. to stay OUT of the picture. And yeah, it is an ugly picture on the cover.

  3. Not a Halle fan. Don't even find her objectionable any more, just boring.

This cover would not persuade me to buy the September Vogue. I don't buy Vogue much anymore anyway, even though I love fashion. There are too many articles full of exotic plastic surgery suggestions. The whole magazine seems to be aimed at rich, unhappy women.

  4. Yes, I know for a fact that's true...and he wanted out. Amazed she's finally telling the truth.

  5. This story contradicts the entire story she told Oprah. Has she fallen out of the limelight and misses it? Is she trying to be relevant? Not that I care, but just be consistent in your story or better yet, tell the truth.

  6. Her hairstyle doesn't make sense. This is the hairstyle of a woman with alopecia. Why didn't Halle just have her own hair styled for the pictures?

I thought it was understood that they hooked up to have a baby because she wanted to have one with a handsome man.

She commented on the Oprah Show that her mom wanted her to be artificially inseminated by Nate Burkus. This was before she hooked up with Aubry and a year later she'd found him and was pregnant with his child.

    Self explanatory.

  7. That has to be a wig, and an unflattering one at that.

  8. I bet this is pissing Victoria Beckham off big time. Ice Queen Anna will never let her on the cover.

  9. Did her daughter need to have these details spilled to the public? Some stuff just don't need to be shared and she completely undermined her"wow is me" crap. She is a grade A liar and trickster.. probably why Gabriel did not agree to let her take the daughter out of the country. At least one of the parents is grounded. What the heck is up with this cover? Always felt bad she did not get a Vogue cover because in the past I felt she was deserving beauty-wise compared to some of the other Hollywood girls.. but interview just completely derails this.

  10. wow, you read a lot out of that.

  11. Wow, I had NO IDEA there was so much animosity toward Halle Berry, and I read my gossip sites, I'm pretty up on things! I thought! LOL I also had no idea this was an arrangement with Gabriel Aubry. I thought they were a real couple. Damn, I'm outta the loop. LOL

  12. Surely you are a gay male, to even mention this:
"I also dislike the photo they chose for the cover. It is supposed to be Vogue."
What red-blooded male cares about that other than the cover has a very attractive woman on it?.

  13. I didn't know about their history while dating, but it's ok that she wanted a baby. Now the interesting thing is that if she wanted his baby and she didn't tell him and she got pregnant anyway, now THAT would be shocking...

  14. I didn't know it was an arrangement. Where have I been? I'm surprised she admitted all this....

  15. @rc and n
not true exactly. my guy is a sports junkie, red-blooded mexi male and is a big fan of ANTM-discussing photos and posing and probably would say that the cover doesnt do her justice.
it's rare but they are out there.

  16. This is like an albatross coming from her. It doesn't belong. It kind of says he's a sperm donor, and that's about it. Not really very honorable for Halle.

  18. What Michelle said, and everyone else too.

For the distinction of being the first black Vogue September cover model in 21 years, she threw her daughter under the bus. Appanrently she's been hurt so badl by the men in her life she's determined to pass the same damage on to her baby.

  19. @jen, if you didn't know that there was so much animosity towards Halle but have been reading gossip websites you obviously are not familiar with IMDB (Internet Movie Database).

The "so called" fans on Halle's board are extremely harsh towards her and THEY claim to be her fans.

I don't understand the hate either. Like she said she's pretty much kept quiet. And to all of the people who bash her for breaking up with Gabriel unless you have some insider information how can any one of us determine if he is not at fault or the cause of the break up?

I truly believe that this was no more than a contractual fertility agreement so they may have actually parted without the hostility that she had with her two husbands.

  20. If you want to see Halle animosity try reading the urban oriented gossip websites.

I don't like Halle either, but this makes me sad. I hope they both take care of that beautiful little girl.

I stopped reading Vogue a few yeas ago when the photo shoots became increasingly bizarre. I love fashion but I can't relate to Vogue.

  21. Now that you mention it, why the wig? Is it some sort of tribute to Anna Wintour?

One who lives in L.A. :) It's all about the PR.

  23. I don't like Halle Berry because she is "black" when it is convenient for her AND she makes stupid statements about type II diabetes. She "claims" she is cured. She does not think before she opens her trap.

I would have kept my trap shut about the arrangement with her "baby daddy." Her daughter does not need to read this later. I hope she is saving for the therapy and "tell-all-book."

  24. You can be cured of diabetes if you have type 2 diabetes.

I don't know what is so shameful in admitting that she wasn't in love with the father...that she really wanted a child...met a guy and chose him.

There is nothing wrong with this and her daughter won't go crazy b/c of this info.

    Really people.

For those "urban" site...they never say anything hateful about her. LIst those sites and show the links.

    Get real.

She didn't kill anyway or say that her daughter is less of a person b/c she wasn't married, dating, or in love with the father.

    Get off of it.

  25. i liked her better before the whole gabriel thing. idk, she just treated him like a sperm donor, which would have been ok if she hadn't pretended to care about him. it's obvious she lead the guy on and i'm sure had he been aware of that, he would have reconsidered having a child with her.

  27. I mean she didn't kill anyone.

    I meant to also post.

Get real....this is not something that people need to be falsely outraged about.

The cover and the pics are boring and her hair is ugly ( but makeup is really nice)....U.S. Vogue magazine is getting worse every single year.

  28. uhh, i think i missed the arrangement part... whaaa???

  29. I read the Vogue interview. I interpreted what Halle said completely differently. I think when she said "it was not a love connection" she meant a permanent love connection.

She also stated clearly that when they broke up, it was bad for about two weeks, and then they got into the a good place. Once the media found out about the split (after the fact), everyone started making up stories, when in fact there was no drama between the two.

  30. I stopped reading Vogue years ago, too. I can't relate to the plastic surgery crap or the party coverage...I don't know who 99.9 percent of those people are, and I don't care who they are.

HB has been squawking about having a family for years. This "news" isn't really surprising, but the way she dismisses GA is callous. "Oh, he was just my babydaddy." Nice.

  31. *flush* Sound of once promising career going away.

Very shallow of her; not good for child.

  32. How is this any different than Madonna and Carlos Leon? If it's an amicable arrangement between two consenting adults what's the big deal?

Meh. I can't get worked up about this. Nahia appears well looked after. I keep my ire for fameball parents like the Lohans or the Gosslins

  33. Most of the Halle hate is garden variety jealousy. And none of it makes sense. She barely speaks, and isn't visible in Hollywood beyond the occasional red carpet shot or trip to the supermarket. I noticed the Halle Haters dailed the crazy up to Lohan when she started dating Gabriel. Because he's so 'hawt' he immediately became some some angelic innocent and she was the big, bad diva who clipped his wings. Nonsense ensued.

  35. I'll buy this for this...I totally relate to her situation. (only wish I had her money!)

  36. He was quoted as saying they wanted a second child, that doesn't make sense if it was just a hookup. Who knows.

  37. You cannot "cure" type II diabetes. You can manage it. Here is the link to the Mayo Clinic for further info: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/type-2-diabetes/DS00585

Halle Berry said she actually "cured" herself of diabetes. Maybe she means she manages her diabetes, but she cannot cure it. She pissed of the Diabetes Association and Mary Tyler Moore with her dumb statements.

I don't hate Halle Berry, but I think she sticks her foot in her mouth every time she speaks.
