  1. Even if it's Monday, there is no day that could be a bad day after both Mad Men and Modern Family are honored. Best shows on tv, and glad that I'm not alone in that opinion!

  2. This is probably the first awards show that I've been almost completely happy with the results. I thought Jimmy was great, too. A LOT better than I expected.

Very happy for Modern Family getting its many deserved Emmys!

But I am most thrilled for Aaron Paul. Have you started watching Breaking Bad? YOU SHOULD!!! THIS SHOW CHANGED MY LIFE. I started a few weeks ago and went through the entire series!

  3. I am so pleased to see how much Modern Family won. I love that show! Glad to see it's getting the props it deserves. Can't wait until it starts up again.

  4. I was so so happily surprised when Jim Parsons from the incredible Big Bang Theory won.
You could tell how shocked he was too. I am so glad I tuned into the Emmys just for that reason alone.

Oh and Ricky Gervais of course. Man I want to marry that dude. Greatest Mel Gibson joke ever! hehe

  5. Did anyone else think Aaron Paul was high on coke when he accepted his award? His enthusiasum made me feel itchy and almost uncomfortable it was so animated.

But this could be the cynic in me talking

  7. I'm glad the shows that I watch won, I mean even The Pacific! Anyway I didn't watch the awards...did something really funny/shocking happened?

This is one of the few times I actually agreed with most of the winners.

I am so glad that Julianna Margulies didn't win. Her show is way overhyped and so is her lousy acting. The only one deserving from that show is Archi Panjabi. So glad she won. And Yay! for Kyra.

  10. Loved the Modern Family skit with Clooney. That was hilarious.

Very pleased with the Mad Men and Modern Fam wins. I love both those shows.

I watched until 10, and then flipped over to Mad Men. The dresses were a lot of meh. But, Kyra Sedgwick looked amazing.

  11. Jasmine; YES! I thought he seemed high too, but he might also have been really nervous. There were a few others as well. My husband came into the room as Sofia Vergara was on stage, and exclaimed: Holy f*ck, she's LIT!!! Also the creator of Glee seemed to have a case of the cottonmouths. Padma Lakshmi could not stop touching her nose while on stage with the rest of the Top Chef crew.

I wonder how many grams were circulating in that theatre last night....*L*

I didn't watch the whole thing, it was kind of a downer. Jimmy Fallon is not funny...I don't know how he keeps getting work!

My favourite (of what I did watch) was Ricky Gervais. I loved Tina Fey's dress. And the Elisabetta Canalis sourpuss award went to January Jones (but I suspect she might just finally have seen her dress in the mirror).

As far as the awards go, there's a lot of these shows that I haven't been watching so I really don't know. I never got into Breaking Bad - I like the premise of the show but it jst didn't catch on with me. Bryan Cranston totally deserved his award though...but I was a bit disappointed that Lost didn't get more recognition.

  12. @Harriet- omg I totally noticed Padma doing the touching nose thing too!
Are we the unofficial official coke patrol for the Emmys or what?
Too bad we werent there the night Paris was arrested in Vegas, it would of been an open and shut case!
    lmao

  13. btw- I also thought Jimmy wasnt that funny, his opening skit was actually shudder inducing to watch, i had to mute it.
Though when he grabbed Tom Selleck and inexplicablly called him his long lost dad whist wearing the same white suit that was really funny!

  16. When I met Adrian Paul a little over 15 years ago, he was an absolute jerk. I hope he has mellowed.

I haven't watched an Emmy telecast but once in the last two decades, to cheer on HBO's "John Adams." I swore off them when Jonathan Banks didn't win for Wiseguy. After that, it was all a wash.

  17. I really wish Martin Short would have won.. he deserves it for the range he showed in his role on Damages. Very few actors nowadays can go from comedy to drama. He's a gem.

  18. I thought last night's show was actually pretty entertaining. More so than in year's past. I like Jimmy Fallon & I thought he did a good job.

I was pretty happy with the majority of winners, as I do watch most of those shows. I was really, really rooting for Conan to win. :( Very sad he didn't. I thought the guy that did the acceptance speech for Jon Stewart was a jackass though.

Temple Grandin CRACKED me up! I thought that movie was great, so glad Claire won. I think she was best dressed.

  19. Enjoyed this year's Emmy's more than any in recent history. Thought Fallon did a great job, Gervais was hilarious, and all the shows and mini-series I watched (and love) won! Now to get on with A.Kate's suggestion of watching Breaking Bad - it looks so good!

  20. Breaking Bad is so awesome! I am so glad Brian Cranston and Aaron Paul both won. I am at the edge of my seat for every episode.

  24. i am so bummed that Matthew Fox did not win, i switched the channel and didnt watch the rest of the night! he was just exceptional this last season of Lost, I love Bryan, but Matthew deserved the recognition!! He looked so nervous when they were announcing the nominees, I felt so bad when he didn't win

  25. Temple Grandin! YES! Great movie. Great performances. So happy. :D

  26. 'Top Chef' deserved the win for that season, but I hope they don't win next year. This season sucks - all about the manufactured drama.

I like Kyra and 'The Closer,' but I don't think she deserved the win.
