If you really love the first scene in Star Wars where Princess Leia meets Darth Vader but have always wondered what it would look like in a NYC subway, here is your chance.
And what is NOT the answer to the blind item about a singer who goes undercover on street corners while making a documentary is Jewel who is doing pretty much the same thing, but Karaoke. Really good.
Jewel doing karaoke was pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI love it, the dude at the end goes running back inside to tell everyone. Jewel rocks!
ReplyDeleteOoooohhh... Just watched the Star Wars video, LOVED IT!
ReplyDeleteMore than Jewel's video (sorry Jewel)!
I wish this kind of thing happened in our subway. Man, our commutes are boring!...
I love Jewel and I love the undercover karaoke! So fun!
ReplyDeleteThe Jewel vid almost makes me like her. Almost.
ReplyDeletelol@kimmy i noticed that too.
ReplyDeleteSlightly OT: Here's a link to the first part of a vid where Steve Poltz, Jewel's ex, explains his side of the creation of "You Were Meant for Me." I've heard she has her own take on how it was created, but his is fun to watch. There are two more parts that you can find on You Tube, if you want:

I like Jewel, just not her poetry. Loved the clip.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't awesome things like that ever happen in MY subway car?!
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE SUBWAY STAR WARS!!! Love "Galactic Rebellion for Dummies"....lmao.
ReplyDeleteheh-heh. as somebody who used to dress up as princess leia in the seventies, that video ROCKS!!
ReplyDeleteboth videos were cool! now I'm off to share them both on my FB :)
ReplyDeleteFor anyone who doesn't live in New York, I want to express my sympathies for all the cool stuff you're missing out on.
ReplyDeleteI live here and I am SO SAD I missed this subway event - so hilarious. Oddly, it was never covered in the papers here but maybe tomorrow.
Once I was walking down my street and passed two guys talking and walking. One was normal and the second was wearing a FULL GORILLA SUIT head and all, just like in the movies. They were just walking along talking.
Weird but fabulous.
