Something Strange Going On In Brittany Murphy's House
When is the last time you heard of someone in their 30's dying of anemia and pneumonia? It does not happen very often right? That is the official cause of death for Brittany Murphy. Now it is also the official cause of death for Simon Monjack. Strange? There is something going on in that house. I don't know if it is the combination of the pills and whatever else they were taking or if someone was poisoning them slowly like in Sixth Sense, but I was shocked they both died of the same thing.
There is no way both were anemic. Although Simon had prescription drugs in his system they were not in lethal doses. Sharon Murphy, who had been opposed to the autopsy and fought with Simon's family seemed to breath easier when the results were released and said, "It is with great relief that Simon's preliminary autopsy findings have been released, so the media speculations can stop," Murphy said. "As I was sure of, just like my daughter Brittany, there was no kind of drug overdose."
Well, that may be true, but I can tell you right now, I am not ever spending the night in that house of horrors.
who is paying off the coroner?
ReplyDeleteDidn't Corey Haim die from pretty much the same thing (pneumonia)? I'm no expert in pharmaceuticals, but long term abuse must severely weaken the immune system. And although the conclusion is that none of their deaths was a direct OD, come on...drugs must have played a huge part in it.
ReplyDeleteNo way was the well-fed Monjack anaemic naturally.
ReplyDeleteCertain poisons can cause anaemia - like arsenic and lead intoxication.
Any doctors/nurses on the board that can explain? I don't know enough about anemia - I was wondering if the pneumonia could cause it.
ReplyDeletei don't think it's that unusual. but the drugs ARE a huge factor, whether they had toxic levels of drugs in them at the time of death or not.
ReplyDeletethe anemia, the pneumonia----results of taking shitty care of themselves, abusing drugs and weakening their resistance. you get that run down, it can take very little to push you off the edge.
i think that's what happened to both of them. but most importantly, the drugs matter. healthy 30 year olds don't generally die like this.
It's not unlikely that he had the same pneumonia that Brittany had. They did live together and he could easily have contracted it from her.
ReplyDeleteThe anaemia may have been a result of long-term bad eating habits. He didn't look particularly healthy.
The strange thing is that both anaemia and pneumonia have quite severe symptoms (I know, I have had both), and why both he and Brittany would suffer them without going to the doctor to get treated is the real mystery.
Unless they developed some new strains of anaemia and pneumonia which are symptomless and infect you undetectably and then suddenly strike you dead - in which case, epidemiologists ought to look into them ASAP.
yeah, i'm a nurse and this is my opinion. and just because this guy was overweight doesn't mean he wasn't anemic. it has nothing to do with it, actually.
ReplyDeleteIf I were Sharon, I would be taking my iron tablets and eating lots of liver.
ReplyDeleteObese people can be malnourished, and they can ABSOLUTELY be anemic. To think otherwise is just plain ignorance.
ReplyDeleteThe drugs are being downplayed. They are definitely a big piece of this puzzle.
To nancer:
ReplyDeletebut no underlying medical condition was cited in the autopsy results.
Call me a crazy conspiracy freak but I no longer believe the results of celebrity autopsies or the cause of death listed on celeb death certificates.
ReplyDeletesatern, i don't know if anything else was in that report. i didn't read it.
ReplyDeletethe coroner may suspect long term drug abuse but he can't really say that---he has to deal with what's in front of him and that's what he did.
he's got a young man who's dead. he's anemic, and he had pneumonia, and he listed the drugs he found. that's his job.
Isn't that also the house that Britney used to live in when she started going off her rocker?
ReplyDeleteMaybe there's something in the water. Like, literally. Long-term environmental poisoning can affect people in different ways and can compound whatever health problems they may have already had.
My first thought when I heard the autopsy result was that house will never ever sell now.
ReplyDeleteSo did somebody test the water? Will Sharon be the next to die of anemia and pneumonia? There is so much more to this. I have a friend with severe COPD. She's on oxygen and a variety of drugs, inhalers, etc. She says this is because of smoking coke in the '80's, freebasing. It decimated her lungs.
ReplyDeleteread on cnn, a comment by someone who said they were a doctor that pneumonia can be cause by a lack of oxygen being carried by red blood cells. and the anemia would decrease the number of red blood cells, thus the pneumonia.
ReplyDeleteright. you eat poorly, don't sleep, take drugs and get into a debilitated state. from the bad habits, you get anemic---decreased oxygenation from the anemia weakens your body's natural resistance. you get a bug and it becomes pneumonia, which is made much worse by the anemia. then you die.
ReplyDeletein IMO, the drug use is what starts that whole cycle. these aren't the first people we know used drugs but didn't directly die from overdose. it's what the drugs do to you long-term that can end your life.
@Cheryl.. I'm with you! SOMEONE is paying off these coroners. When the autopsy report came back for DJ AM and it was ruled ACCIDENTAL I was beside my self. Are they kidding?? First of all he barracaded the door of his apartment so no one could get in. Then he took every drug he had in his apartment, including crack and perscription pills. And his last tweet was pretty ominous. I don't mean to make light of an obviously troubled person and tragic death but I just don't find that to be fair. All of this is public record, authorities should tell the truth, they do when us "regular" folk are concerned.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Cheryl and Danielle.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe Britney's ghost came back and gave him "whatever" it was that killed her. It could be a sign of something else.
Sharon needs to watch out unless her nose is really clean.
ITA with Cheryl & Danielle!
ReplyDeleteI also thought it was strange that they ruled AM's death as accidental. Um, hello?? He had like 8 undigested oxycontin in his stomach...
If I we're Sharon, I'd be outta there!!!
Amityville Horror House comes alive in the 21st Century!
ReplyDeleteThis actually sounds like prolonged carbon monoxide poisoning...just saying
ReplyDeleteMaybe Brittany and Simon were both HIV+ or had AIDS? That would cause the pneumonia to become very dangerous - fatal, even - and I doubt those private medical facts would come out in the media. Corey Haim could have been positive, too.
ReplyDeleteAs I posted on Celebitchy, I think it's something way more sinister. I think Sharon should have a lawyer on speed dial.
ReplyDeleteIt’s reminding me of a case Ann Rule wrote about.
My take is the mum was poisoning them. She was with them all of the time, lead is readily available, and ingesting it causes anemia. Ms. Murphy didn’t look like she ate much, but wasn’t she taking cold medicine? and drinking tea? Slip it in there. Mr. Monjack didn’t look like he missed many meals, and perhaps his mother in law just LOVED to cook for him.
It’s just too coincidental that they both died in the same manner.
i think lizzy's onto something here. i've wondered if maybe there's mold in the house that's making them sick? it could have an effect on their lungs, esp. with the drugs weakening their immune systems.
ReplyDeletethe mom does sound a bit guilty tho, she was acting suspicious when britney died, and she sounds guilty now that simon's gone. if there's nothing wrong with the house, i'd say she knows more than she's telling.
Was he an alcoholic? Didn't he have alcohol problems? If he did, then that could explain his anemia. Also, freaking EVERYONE dies of pneumonia. Seriously, it's a lot more common than you would think.
ReplyDeleteI've always suspected the mom.
ReplyDeleteI think they had some disease, as someone else mentioned HIV or something similar, which caused the anemia.
ReplyDeleteI too, no longer believe the coroners report. yeah, they may have had pneumonia and anemia, but they were caused by something else.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us, nancer. It makes sense.
ReplyDeleteMy best friend worked with a gal who did meth for many years, and then got clean and stayed clean for several years after that. One night she simply died in her sleep. She was in her 30's. 'Natural causes'.
I read an article several months ago about how cocaine manufacturers in Columbia are cutting coke with some kind of horse tranquilizers that makes the high even more intense when snorted and it's cheap so the dealers make a bigger profit. Most customers think they are paying for and getting pure stuff. Problem is that it severly damages the immune system and often times causes heart and sometimes lung infections. The damage is usually permanent, even if you quit taking the coke. I wonder if they had gotten some of that coke in the past and didn't even know that they had damaged their heart/lungs/immune system? The article I read said patients didn't go to their doctors until they were almost to the point of needing heart/lung transplants. They didn't exhibit symptoms bad enough to require medical help until it was too late.
