Lindsay Lohan should be going to jail, but instead the judge in her case just raised Lindsay's bail to $200K. Why? Well over the weekend Lindsay just couldn't stay away from the booze. Apparently all those pills she takes wasn't enough to get her feeling good so she drank and the SCRAM thing went off.
The judge had an emergency hearing and revoked Lindsay's $100K bail, issued a warrant for her arrest and set bail at $200K. Lindsay will probably try and hide for a bit until bail is arranged and the warrant is recalled. No Chateau Marmont for Lindsay tonight.
I wonder how many chances she is going to get? I will say that her July 6th hearing should be lots of fun.

ReplyDeleteTMZ is reporting that the warrant has been recalled. One hour after it was issued. The Bail bondsman put up the bail so she is free to figure out who set her up.

ReplyDeleteMs. Leigh--it's my understanding her bond money from before is forfeited. That normally happens when a new bond is issued.
ReplyDeleteThis whole thing just pisses me off. I'm a court appointed attorney and if one of my clients (who are all poor) violated their bond conditions, you bet your ass they would be in jail. If Lindsay did in fact violate the terms, she needs to be sitting in jail with no bond.
I'm also in complete agreement on the whole Charlie Sheen thing. I hate it when people get preferential treatment in the legal system just because they have some money to their name.

Jail her and save her life. The only other option the court should offer is long term in-patient rehab(at least 6 months).

ReplyDeleteYou know this judge isn't doing her any favors. This girl needs one place with some structure, stability and some "drying out" time. I don't know if jail is the answer for her (or anyone with those sorts of issues) but they sure don't need to be released back into the same environment with the same enablers!

I honestly think that if she went to jail it would help her. Perhaps if she had a month without chemicals she might find her self again. I know, she has to want to change, but she is, IMO a victim of child abuse, and it's still going on.

ReplyDeleteMy understanding is she put up the first $10,000 and the bail bondsman put up a loan for her for the other $90,000 -- and she now owes the bondsman the $90,000. And the bondsman is happy to do this again because, he says, he's not worried about getting the money back -- and hey, bondsmen and bounty hunters can be a little rough justice in their own right, he probably isn't going to let her screw him over.
ReplyDeleteNow on top of this, she had to put up the $20,000 (10 percent of $200,000) for the new bail and he's got a loan for her for the remaining $180,000. She's already $90,000 in deep to him. If the alcohol and drugs and reckless driving under the influence don't kill her, this guy will.
i don't care if locking her up would 'save her life.' i don't care if her life is saved---period. all i want is for the justice system to work for her the same way it does for everyone else.
