Mel Gibson Files Restraining Order Against His Baby Mama

***Update*** It turns out Oksana was the one who got the restraining order because Mel has allegedly been violent towards her. I could see that.

I cannot wait until all of this Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva stuff comes to court. I think if it does that we will see a side of Mel Gibson that we always assumed existed, but, with the exception of the sugar tits episode have not really seen.

Earlier this week though, Mel filed a restraining order against Oksana. The documents are sealed, but apparently have something to do with visitation which he probably doesn't do and access to his daughter. I also wonder if Oksana calls his house and yells at him or taunts him. She seems like the kind of person who would probably call him and tease him about all his weaknesses. You know, like if he needed Viagra or something. I also doubt he would want his new girlfriend to have to hear all these things.

Mel should see his kid, but she knew what she was getting from the start. I'm not sure why he has not given her a lump sum of money, in addition to child support, to go away.

According to TMZ, she originally got the restraining order because of violence on his part, and he got one too, to keep her from talking.

His reps are saying it doesn't amount to anything since the "incidents" (notice they do admit to there being incidents of violence) were in January and she traveled with him afterward.

  5. Oh, lookie! It only took 4 comments for someone to bring up Catholicism.

  6. chihuahuense, I am not religious at all. I just think the ones that pound their chest the hardest are the ones with the biggest issues. You have to admit, it takes a major ego to start your own church.

  7. Really? You're not religious? Color me surprised.

WTF does that have to do with this story?! Really?!

  8. I am Catholic and take no offence to Elizabeth's comment. I think her point was the Mel espouses this uber-religious self-righteousness and then gets accused of being violent to a woman that he fathered a baby with outside of marriage (while cheating on his wife, all of which are kind of big no no's). So, I don't think she meant to criticize religion, I think she meant to criticize Mel Gibson for being a giant hypocritical jackass.

  9. Thanks KLM, I wasn't trying to offend anyone at all. Not at all. I just find Mel to be hugely hypocritical. In interviews he is so quick to become confrontational to anyone that questions him, yet everything he does is so over the top in conflict with everything he is supposed to believe it. It's like Larry King becoming a marriage counselor.

  10. I just want to say a couple of things.

When I made the first comment, it was more like "oh, man, I know what is coming next." and less "omg, that was so offensive." Although I stick by my initial groan that every time a Mel story comes up his religion gets dragged into it, I think KLM's explanation was pretty eloquent and made me realize that he isn't a jackass who just happens to be a Catholic, he is a jackass that talks about being a Catholic a lot, so that's what people associate with him.

I do want to say, and this is not directed at anyone, that a person can be religious and make mistakes. I am not talking about Mel in particular, just in general it seems like if someone is religious and does something wrong then everyone is like "Oh, and they are SOOO religious." Anyway, I'm done. Sorry.

  11. Somewhere, there's a tabloid editor tearing apart their couch trying to scrape together enough money to get Oksana to spill.
And believe it, when the $$ gets right, she'll spill.
However, I honestly pity that poor innocent child. That's gotta be some hellacious Karmic debt she's paying off.
(The child that is...Oksana is another issue entirely, as is Mel)

  13. chihuahuense, of course religious people make mistakes. so do non-religious people. the difference is the sanctimony.
it's like that congressman (whose biggest claim is that he's an evangelical christian) who just got caught fucking around on his wife. he made an informational tape on abstinence (of all things) with the very woman he was fucking doing the interviewing.

come on. that's MUCH funnier than if some heathen guy got caught. it just IS.

  14. no, no, I get it. I really do. But that's usually not how it is talked about. E.V.E.R.Y. religious person gets lumped in there and it sounds something like this, "you know Catholics, just go to confession" or "fucking religious hypocrates--that's how they operate".

Ok, not exactly like that. But you get what I am saying. ONE religious person does something naughty and all of a sudden it's like "that's exactly like some religious bullshit, whatever, whatever." Anyway, I really am over it. I really don't want to be a Debbie Downer.

  16. @Elizabeth: Read "The Genius of the Crowd," by Charles Bukowski, or listen to him reading it on Youtube, to sum up everything you're saying. "Those who preach love are the best at hate," etc. Jesus talked about wolves in sheeps clothing--here's a perfect example.

  17. This is boring. Almost as boring as the endless Lohan white noise, but boring nonetheless.
