Kate Middleton Pregnant?

Star Magazine is just throwing everything out against the wall this week to see what sticks. Their cover story this week is all about Prince William getting Kate Middleton pregnant and how the palace is in a tizzy because they don't know what to do.

"William was up at his military base in North Wales when Kate called him. She was sobbing so hard, she could hardly get the words out. She told him that despite their precautions, she is pregnant. Behind the scenes, the royal circles are in absolute panic. They just don't know what they're going to do."

Well, the first thing they did was release a statement that says the article is "a load of rubbish." Hmm. That does not say the story is not true does it? Rubbish could simply mean they think it is beneath the status of journalists to report such things, and not necessarily that she is not pregnant.

The reason I say this is because the press office there at the palace will usually say if something is not true. Globe ran a piece about the pair eloping and the statement from the palace said the article was "not true."

Hmmm. Very interesting.

  1. Oh, Enty! You are such a lawyer, splitting hairs over the meaning of 'rubbish'.

Am hugely bored with all the manufactured drama around this pair. I don't believe they will ever marry.

Tenley, I was wondering the same. I remember the big hoopla about Diana having to be examined by doctors and verified to be a virgin. Have they changed the rules?

  4. God I love any and all stories about the young brit royals! I dont even care that this is most likely untrue, it makes me happy just to hear about yummy Will (though Harry is way cuter, and probably better in bed) but I digress, lol

  5. btw, common, do they really believe these two princes would marry ANYONE without sampling the merchandise, so to speak, first?!
This isnt back in the day when old ass stodgy Charles was in line to marry.

  6. I doubt this because William seems militant about his private life and I can't see it getting leaked.

But if true...Congrats to them! They are nearly 30 and have been together for a long, long time.

  7. I think William wants to marry on Diana's 50th Bday, July 1,2011.

  8. They have lived together for ages, so I doubt she is a virgin.

  9. Love the way Star claims to have a quote from a private telephone call.

The Palace doesn't know what to do? BS! If she is pregnant, a quick visit to a discreet hospital will be arranged. Upper class girls have been having 'procedures' for generations. Can't spoil the fairytale.

Even in stodgy old Charles' day, virgin brides were rare. Which is why it was such a big to-do that his wife had to be one.

  12. If she can't get him to permanently commit any other way, a good, old-fashioned "surprise" pregnancy is one way to go. I think the story is false, but I also think that Kate must be desperate for a ring and a marriage at this point.

  13. "William, despite our precautions, I am pregnant."

These two are as dull as dishwater.

  16. Here's what the "palace" can do...they can GET WITH THE FREAKING 21st CENTURY, for chrissakes.

  17. William has said he'd want to be married after he turned 28; he couldn't announce an engagement this month because it's the anniversary of the Duke of Windsor's wedding or abdication or something embarrassing he did (there were so many, it's hard to choose!)

There's also some other reason why June wouldn't be good for his engagement announcement, but I can't remember what it is. Anybody?

I agree this mag is throwing spaghetti at the wall, maybe trying to push the palace to set an announcement date in a slow news cycle.

  19. Weezy-Saturday is the weding of the Crown Priness of Sweden, and since Willam and Harry are blowing the ceremondy off for the world cup, and Charles can't attend, it would probably be tacky for them to announce Willam's wedding and get all the attention instead of Sweden.
(I'm slightly annoyed about Willam/Charles as non attending as Victoria of Sweden is a future monarch)

  20. I remember some tabloid running this exact same story out a few months ago.

They will get married when the Queen says they can get married. Remember, Granny rules the roost while she is Queen and William in line to inherit the throne. Wasn't it a year or so ago that she told Kate she needed to get a job before she could even consider an engagement to William?

  21. Ashley -- thanks, I'd forgotten that. And ITA about their not attending the Swedish royals' wedding. That was clearly a palace decision, and a deliberate slap. (Uh, *both* heirs to the English throne had to be 10,000 miles away?)

Wonder what the Swedes did to tic off the Queen's handlers? Liz II didn't want to buy any IKEA for Buck House?

  22. Isn't the rate of single parenthood in England about the same as here in the U.S. (roughly 40%, I think)? Is this really so scandalous to the vast majority of the English population? Can't they just get married and have that be the end of it? I don't know anything about royal inheritance laws. Does the heir to the throne have to be conceived in wedlock? Would it not be ok if it were just born in wedlock?

  23. RJ-I'm not sure of the details as far as concieved v born in wedlock but in order for William to wed and still keep his place in the line of succession, he has to get the aproval of queen + parliment, or wait a year and then he sill might lose his place. So, chances are good that even if he would manage to marry Kate before a birth, the child would not be in line to the throne.
...Course, all this would be moot if she would have a daughter as England still doesn't have equal primogeniture.

Weezy-It does look tacky for the Brits to only send the Wessex's to the wedding, but there is president-when the Crown Prince of Denmark married they only sent them.

  24. Don't do it, son. She ain't worth it. This is John Kennedy Jr. all over again. And everybody knows how that story ended. Play on, playa. Just play on.

  25. Syko - Diana didn't have to be a virgin, but it was reported (by her family) that she was.

"Load of rubbish" in England means "not true".
