Anna Wintour Calls Tim Gunn A Liar - I Go With Tim

Does Tim Gunn seem like a liar to you? One to make up wild stories about diva behavior? Not to me either. Tim is set to release a book that he wrote with the help of a NY Post writer. Of course The Post has some excerpts and if the book is anything like the excerpt, this should be great!!

Talking about Anna Wintour, Gunn said, "I was with a colleague from Parsons, and we had been discussing the will-she-or-won't-she-take-the-elevator question, so we ran over to the elevator bay to see if Anna would deign to get on. She wasn't there. Then we looked over the stairway railing. And what did we see but Anna being carried down the stairs. The bodyguards had made a fireman's lock and were racing her from landing to landing. She was sitting on their crossed arms."

Surely though when they got to the bottom of the stairs though, Anna would walk to the car. Right? "I ran to the window to see if they would put her down on the sidewalk or carry her to the car like that. They carried her to the car. And I thought: I will never for get this."

Who were these people carrying Anna? Do they get paid to do this for her because that seems like something that would be tough to quantify on a resume.

He also took a dig at Andre Leon Talley's divaness. "When we return to the green room, we see that someone has spread a translucent barber's bib over Andre and he's reclining, his arms at his sides. He's being fed grapes and cubes of cheese one by one, like a bird in a nest."

I can totally see Andre doing that. Probably learned it from Tyra Banks.

When The Post called Vogue for a comment they said that Tim has a vivid imagination and none of this happened. Uh huh.

  1. Please! I, too, go with Tim hands DOWN!

And what is so wrong with her using an elevator? It is a phobia or would being cooped up for 30 seconds with (Heaven forbid) "regular" people be too much to stoop for?

  2. it's a little out there...but then, mariah does weird crap like this too, so it could happen, no?

  3. I do not doubt that this is true. Anna is notorious for being an outlandish bitch.

The podcast Tim did during one of the early seasons of Project Runway was refreshingly candid. He seemed like a very genuine and tell it like it is (especially if it's ridiculous behavior) kind of guy.

  4. Tim's story is bitchy and juicy, so I choose to believe him.

  5. I completely believe him. Go Tim!!

  7. Its def. true. I think Tim is a wonderful person because he always comes across as one, he's caring and affectionate with the contestants of Project Runway. I don't see him as a liar or someone who would exaggerate without reason. :) The Andre Talley bit I read was hilarious - someone fed him cubes of cheese and grapes one at a time, while he reclined in a chair...lol I think its more like dripping cheeseburgers, which would explain his massive weight but I think Tim wanted to be polite ;)

  8. Maybe her high heels were too high or maybe she was too high to teeter/walk. Funny story, and I believe Tim.

  12. I met Tim Gunn and he is a TRUELY LOVELY MAN - an absolute gentleman and impeccably gracious to everyone at the event. He even complimented my dress, which was the highlight of my 2009 (his compliment - not the dress).

I believe him in a heartbeat, hands down.

  13. @ Jax please expand on ana wintour and bob marley....

  14. It does sound pretty far out there -- I mean it wasn't even hinted at in Devil Wears Prada and yes NY editors can be off the wall but they do go actually work every day, loooong hours, they're not THAT elite. I'm truly on the fence on this one. (Which doesn't mean I love Tim any less!)

  15. @LULU it is long rumored when Wintour met Marley in the early 80's through the magazine, they both disappeared for a week....while he was married.

now if ever i met a woman who needed a joint MORE...it's Anna.

  16. @ Jax thanks but bob marley was only married on paper nothing more .... so not surprising

  18. I'm pretty sure she's 958 years old, so she was probably just tired. ((((((SHE PROBABLY NEEDS HER MEDS AND A SWEATER AS WELL)))))

  19. The thing about Anna W and elevators is supposedly she won't ride on them with anyone else and if she's in it, people shouldn't enter. She has denied this.

    Team Tim!!!!

  20. Oh I so belive Tim. I love him with all my heart.

Anna Wintour and Andre Leon Talley have the biggest poles up their asses. They are so out of touch with the common folk.

  21. team tim all the way.

wintour and talley lost touch with reality a long time ago.

  22. Team Tim, but not team professional ghost writer that spelled 'forget' as two words: 'for get.' WTF is that? Or was that just Enty?

  23. @Pookie, I thought about Mariah too when i read this.

    Team Tim.

If I saw a grown woman being carried like this I'm pretty sure I'd never forget it either.

  24. Tim is a doll and I believe him 100%.

Hasn't Anna denied EVERY unflattering thing ever written about her? If you're a bitch, why not own it? Make it work, Anna.

  25. I believe Tim. I won't even waste time commenting on Wintour. As for Talley, I'll never forgive him for the way he dressed Jennifer Hudson the night she won her Oscar.

  26. Let's cut to the important question: "Where's Andre?"

I wish Tim's show was still on the air. He didn't just give those women a clothing makeover, he gave them the equivalent of years of self-esteem-boosting therapy. He's such a great person!

  27. I wish Tim could find a nice boyfriend to love. From reading his interviews he said he has been celibate for years.

    ReplyDelete
  28. And supposedly, Anna has never gotten over Bob Marley. I would pay to see her smoking a splif with him.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Totally believe Tim. You cannot make this shit up, plus from what I've gathered that behavior is right on par for her.

  30. Correction: Andre Leon Talley no longer has a stick up his ass. He now has Tyra Banks' head up there. She spent so much time pandering to his idiotic comments than she did talking to the contestants.

  31. I believe Tim all the way. It sounds like Anna and Andre have become parodies of themselves, and they just don't get it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. LMAO @ Mooshki's "Where's Andre?" reference.

  33. I wonder if the grapes had to be peeled first.

    Team Tim all the way.

  34. Like the rest of the world, I adore Tim. What a delicious and completely believable story! Anna shouldn't deny it - that disappoints me. If you're going to be a notorious beetch, be a proud one! Diva stories fascinate me.

  35. i adore tim! his stories are amazing and anna is such a bitch of epic proportions that i almost appreciate her for it. if you have the power and money to have grown men carry you down stairs next to a working elevator, good for you!! /high five!
