Yay For Elin Woods
Elin Woods decided she has had enough public humiliation and is divorcing Tiger Woods. It is obviously her idea since Tiger would love nothing more than a bunch of happy family photos to make the rounds and get him his endorsements back and his fans.
Elin isn't having any of it though and I am so happy for her. Too many times we have seen women get humiliated by affairs and press conferences and people coming out from everywhere and yet they stick with the marriage. I think there is a very good chance Tiger would cheat again and a very good chance he would get caught again and a very good chance Elin would be humiliated again. Cutting this off now is definitely the best way to go.
How often do you think Tiger will go to Sweden to see his kids?
You know, when Ent says things like "Yay for Elin Woods" I seriously question if he is a man or a woman.
ReplyDelete^^Does it matter?
ReplyDelete@chopchop
ReplyDeleteClearly, it doesn't. I'm just smart and like to figure out mysteries.
Those kids will be trotted out for photo ops only over the years. I think it is best that way anyway.
ReplyDeleteLet Tiger go be a sex addict and F' his live away.
Sounds about right. I think she was kind enough to wait until his career got "on track" (I think it'll be a long time before he's playing the way he used to) and now she's OUT. I wish her the best of luck in her next relationship.
ReplyDeleteat least she has self respect.
ReplyDeleteShe married him for his money. Anybody can see what a bum tiger woods is, except for his talent. He's got the God complex and I darned sure wouldn't want to have his spawn at any cost, but the gold digger did. And she is just that.
ReplyDeleteIDK, Jamie's Girl. I don't get the gold-digger vibe from Elin, but what the hell do I know? She seemed to be smitten by him, IMO.
ReplyDeleteI always feel very badly for children of divorce, no matter what the financial situation is.
It's probably best for her to move on and try to live a normal life. IIRC, she loathes the limelight and all that.
I hope she means it this time!
ReplyDeleteI don't think Elin was a golddigger..I think she loved him. A lot of his mistresses fell for him, who is to say she didn't either?
ReplyDeleteElin reportedly turned him down several times before they actually went out. She came from a sh*t-ton of money, anyway. That thanksgiving night with the golf clubs, seems to me, like a crime of passion.
I just find it kind of sad that whenever a woman marries a man of money, she's given the golddigger stamp.
Yeah, I also don't think Elin was a gold-digger.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else think Tiger's current "injuries" are more of the mental variety? I think the intensity of his alleged disc pain is being exaggerated to compensate for the fact that his game has lost his luster. He's an egomaniac, so he has to blame his shitty golf game on an injury.
ReplyDeleteAs for Elin, yeah, she's a gold-digger (she was another golfer's nanny before she moved in for the kill on Tiger), but at least she's got the sense to get out of this sham of a marriage before it gets any worse for her.
Don't know if she was a golddigger, but glad she finally decided to move on with her life. Now people can finally stop commenting on this and move the fuck on.
ReplyDeleteWe can't know what is really going on, but I think she is selfish for not trying to make it work. She has two little kids and as a mother, she should be thinking about them first. Divorce is never the best option for children. If Tiger works on his sex addiction, she could have a marriage.
ReplyDeleteThe fact she is divorcing him so quickly after the scandal erupted means she never loved him to begin with.
MINXXX, clearly you are unaware of the large number of well-connected young women from Europe and elsewhere who use the nanny job to get to live in the U.S.
ReplyDeleteJust because she's white and pretty doesn't mean immigration laws don't apply to her. Girls take nanny jobs in the U.S. in order to live here and enjoy their youths away from home.
And Elin didn't need the money.
sonicmonkey1984 (great screen name, btw), I respectfully disagree. There is a lot of discord in that family home right now, I'm sure, and that's not good for children either. I wish to GOD my parents had divorced when I was younger, trust me...it would have made my life so much easier than watch them yell at each other and get the shit beat out of us by mom because she was bitter and unhappy with my dad, who was also a serial cheater.
ReplyDeleteWow sonicmonkey - I could NOT disagree MORE. This wasn't a one-time, one-woman infidelity. This was a multi-year, multi-woman sleaze-fest. You really think a woman should have to give her husband a second chance that is really more like a 2000th chance? Fuck that. She has been disrespect to the highest degree. You know what else sucks for children? Parents in a shitty marriage.
ReplyDelete@sonicmonkey
ReplyDeleteAre you for real?
haha, are you serious sonicmonkey?
ReplyDeleteOf course divorce is better for the kids if the other option is their parents constantly fighting, cheating and/or beating each other with golf clubs...
Its been months since this scandal broke, and she waited for him through sex rehab and a career restart. How long after would she have to wait in order for you to think that she tried?
She's been private from day one and I'm glad to see she's keeping it private.
ReplyDeleteLet the other ho's talk to Larry King; Elin's going home and I say good for her; or I mean YAY for Elin!
sonicmonkey1984:
ReplyDelete"The fact she is divorcing him so quickly after the scandal erupted means she never loved him to begin with."
You need to call Tiger's attorneys with these remarkable insights!
Seriously, if you were going to be asked about Rachel Uchitel/Derek Jeter threesomes for the rest of your life, you'd probably RUN too. I think the fact that she has taken so LONG to make this decision proves she loves him. She could have dumped his ass and been doing interviews months ago.
sonicmonkey, you are obviously a man.
ReplyDeleteSometimes divorce IS the best option. I'm not saying that it necessarily is in this case, but there are many many instances where it's better that the parents divorce than for the kids to live with tension 24/7.
I don't believe he's actually a sex addict, I don't actually think such a thing exists. I think it's an excuse. Some men are low life hound dogs, and Tiger with all his money and fame was one of the lowest of them. Besides, why would you want a man back who'd dipped his unwrapped wick in so many trashy skanks? And she's hardly divorcing him soon after the scandal erupted, the eruption was some six months ago.
Tiger also has two little kids, but I bet he wasn't thinking of them when he tossed that one woman's used tampon in the parking lot and did her up against a car.
@Syko
ReplyDeleteI almost barfed when I read "...he tossed that one woman's used tampon in the parking lot and did her up against a car."
What kind of a lady allows that to happen?
*puke*
Sue Ellen, I know, right? I always thought some things were sort of private.
ReplyDeleteThe blog is clearly written by a woman. The style and sentiments are clearly female.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone else noticed that the gossip in recent months is a rehash of what can be found a day or to earlier on any one of a dozen other gossip sites?
I long for the good ole days....
What about Tiger's drug addiction? And this new neck pain, isn't that just an excuse to continue with the drugs? He was taking Vicodin. And I think lots of folks are addicted to that. Really, can you charm up that many skanks without being addicted to some mind altering substance?????
ReplyDeleteelin comes from a very good family in sweden. she's not a gold digger. she married tiger because she loved him. i've never read one bad word about her and by all accounts, she's a lovely person.
ReplyDeleteHey Middle-Aged Diva, I miss those fresh bits of gossip. It was kinda like gawker where Enty would give info that happened like the night/day before at some event he attended. Curiously, we don't get those anymore.
ReplyDeleteGood for her kids. Staying teaches her daughter what women are worth (nothing) and her son how to treat women (like nothing). Tiger saw this from his father, where do people think this is learned? If your mother won't stand up for herself, whether or not you admit it, she has devalued herself in everyone's eyes. I say this from experience, we were happier destitute than living with my father. I also turned out to have iron will and self respect, thanks Mom.
ReplyDeleteGood for Elin.
You go, Elin! And go farrrr away from that skank! The children will be better off for sure.
ReplyDeleteTiger won't go to Sweden. He'll move on by getting a new chick and demand that the kids fly to him for photo ops.
She should stay with him in exchange for a better deal. The pre-nup has probably limited how much she'll get. She should just play the game, tell him to be more discreet with his little adventures, you know, stick with the pro's, and take a pool boy on the side for herself. Like the song says, What's love got to do with it?
ReplyDeleteI read an article today where Tiger was talking about how he didn't make the cut a few weeks ago and he said something along the lines of "that is the most angry and frustrated I have been in a long time".
ReplyDeleteWow, not as angry and frustrated as you were when your wife and children found out about you being a slimeball??
He just made it abundantly clear where his priorites lie (as if we didn't already know that).
Enty had to stop telling those personal juicy stories because of the haters who were out to get him and would've used that info to find out who he was. We have no one to blame but ourselves.
ReplyDeleteOf course I'm real, married once, raising kids. And I am female.
ReplyDeleteA woman who really loves a man wouldn't give up on him so easily. Yes, it is not an ideal situation, but people can change.
Mooshki, with all due respect, that is a completely illogical statement.
ReplyDeleteAnyone in the business who starts an anonymous gossip blog with juicy personal stories is going to be a target for discovery and it doesn't have to be a hater. Just some random person who wants to expose the secret.
It's CLEARLY a risk. If Enty hadn't figured that out, she isn't much of a lawyer. Or maybe isn't a lawyer at all.
Whatever. But saying it's the fault of people who don't buy the story hook line and sinker, "haters"?
That's just silly.
Here we go again. No Middle-aged Diva, it doesn't make them haters. It just makes them boring.
ReplyDeletegood lord, not this again.
ReplyDeleteand @ sonicmonkey (agreed, great name)-- people seldom change that much. people can grow, but trying to convince yourself that you can change someone else is a futile (and sometimes fatal) outlook.
loving someone and staying in a bad/destructive/humiliating marriage and subjugating yourself is a ridiculous concept. there are some things that can be worked on, but this isn't one of them.
i certainly hope you're not staying in a destructive relationship "for the kids", because it's unhealthy for everyone involved. i know, i've been there.
also, i don't know the law in florida, but how is she able to take the children back to sweden? i know i wasn't allowed to take my son out of state, where i had offer of a house and a job. i'm just curious. is it her particular circumstances (the cheating) or what?
Good for her. Take the kids, take the money and go far, far away from him. She can do better and I have no doubt she will find someone that will treat her better than he did.
ReplyDeleteSonicmonkey - if you think a woman should stay with a man who has cheated on her with FOURTEEN women you clearly have issues. Her job is to take care of her children. The way to do that is to get them away from a man who think (like you) it's okay to cheat on someone FOURTEEN times.
ReplyDeleteand..
"I'm just smart and like to figure out mysteries."
LMAO!! I feel like I should pat you on the head and give you a cookie.
huzzah Mari!
ReplyDeleteMiddle-aged Diva, there have been at least 2 or 3 times over the years that Enty has shifted to being more reserved about his personal stories after a few people were particularly hateful to him in the comments for a while. It kind of comes in waves. I don't have any problem with the majority of people who are just curious about his true identity - I am one of them! :)
ReplyDeleteMngddess, can I have a pat and a cookie too?
@ sonicmonkey - Tiger lied, cheated and humiliated his wife. He had unprotected sex with over a dozen women and exposed Elin to the risk of STD's. Or worse. It's a wonder she's hung around this long.
ReplyDelete@mngddess
ReplyDeleteI gave that comment a side-eye until I saw the cookie part. If you don't scrimp on the cookie, I'll take it.
Mooshki, plenty of people seem to know who Enty is: Jax has a cell # and password to the site. AC who wrote that short-lived trainwreck, "Fashion or Fiction". AP. Readers Enty solicited to cover a couple red carpets may even know. Enty has taken risks all along, so it rings false as a reason to not post original gossip.
ReplyDeleteThe person who wrote the Mother's Day Lost Weekend blind is probably a guy & maybe even a lawyer but clearly is not the same person who writes the blog now.
Let's presume Enty was who he said he was. I think he lost interest in the blog. And probably outsourced it to a woman. Look at how the content has degenerated.. all the random photos--most just take up space and aren't even interesting. Then the Fashion column, not something a guy would come up with, even for a 'girlfriend'. Then the weak blinds, me-too news and female writing style and female angle on the celeb news. Enty who started the blog is not writing it now.
A blog like this is time-consuming. It was always a mystery how a lawyer could find time.
Another mystery was the one-time money grab for photos.
Look, the illusion was fun or at least benign when the blog was unique, fun and interesting. Timmy was fun. Other blinds were real eye openers. The gossip was fresh.
So when you ask "does it matter?" Well, yeah. The deterioration is disappointing for a reader who's been here from Day 1, who couldn't WAIT till Enty posted each day (and more frustrating when I lived on the East coast and had to wait till noon or 1pm, counting down, esp. on Fridays!)
And now it all feels just a little Wizard of Oz-zy. "Don't look behind the curtain!"
Gossip Boy has picked up some of that slack with a fresh approach, although not as well as early Enty. And he admits that he doesn't always post, he has assts. Of course, that's risky for keeping his identity secret as well, so who knows if he's real. But at least he has some fresh stuff and it's a new mystery game.
Michael K at Dlisted is "me too" but can be so hysterically, snarkily funny that he's worth following. Perez, well, busy with his celebrityhood and the blog shows it.
By all means, keep your own fantasy alive if it makes the blog more fun.
But it's my hope that, if Enty is who he said he was, he sees this and realizes that there are readers who notice the changes and are dropping off. Maybe we'll get some better stories. You never know.
I do think Enty has lost some of his enthusiasm for the blog, and so the day-to-day writing isn't as exciting as it used to be, but on the days that he gets revved up again (like yesterday) it makes up for it for me. :)
