Which Cover Sold More?

So, the one on the left is the best selling baby issue of Kneepads Magazine of all time. In fact, it is the third biggest seller in their history. The one on the right is Sandra Bullock and her new baby. Which cover sold the most? You would think it would be a no brainer. When Brad and Angelina had the babies it wasn't really big news. Everyone knew she was pregnant, it was just a matter of wanting to see the pictures. On the other hand, Sandra and her baby was actual news. No one had a clue she had a baby. People wanted to read that. So, so you would think Sandra would crush Brangelina.

The results. The estimate is that Sandra has sold 2.7M copies while the Brangelina cover sold 2.8M. Now, it is possible that Sandra could still catch Brangelina, but to me, I would have thought she would have move passed the Princess Diana issue of 3M to move into second place all time.

  1. AND WHAT DID THEY PAY BRAD AND ANGIE ? I THINK IT WAS LIKE 10 MILLION DOLLARS...DID THEY PAY SANDRA ?
    I'D SAY SANDY WINS.....

  2. My initial thoughts were that people would more likely buy the Brangelina issue to study the photos and try to figure out which parent the twins most resemble.

Louis has such an adorable facial shot and his personality shines through that people would get a great look at him just from the cover. The story of his adoption was everywhere.

  3. I am shocked, but if you think about it, they are probably more popular than SB. And she's only off by 100 thousand, so it's not like it's a huge difference.

  4. Then what was the best selling issue of all time?

    Elvis? Michael Jackson?

  5. The difference between them will be a small amount of copies. I'll say Brangelina wins but only because it was more important to see the children's resemblance to what is consider "the hottest people of the planet".

  9. This has to do with obsession. The public was obsessed with Princess Diana and now they are obsessed with Brad, Angelina and their natural born children. So yes, I can see how pictures of the twins would sell more copies.

The public is not obsessed with Sandra's baby but they are obsessed with knowing about her "secret" baby and divorce. Now that she has spoken her picture and stories may not sell as fast as they did last week.

Brad and Angelina feed the obsession so sure they'll continue to be the highest sellers.

  10. Not really surprised for the reasons Jess said. I wonder if Sandra will donate the proceeds the way Brange did?

And I"m liking all the photos. Dress porn!

  11. I think the highest selling issue was the one right after Princess Diana's death

  12. I'm sure the Sandra photos were more profitable for the magazine and for Time Inc. Because it seems like People paid some $15 million for the Brangelina twin photos -- and almost certainly didn't break even, in fact took a loss on it, selling less than 3 million copies. HOWEVER. Part of what they were buying with that exclusive was the hope that stars would choose to trust them as their exclusive outlet in the future, and it does work (including Sandra's exclusive, which the magainze may or may not have paid for)

  13. I LOVE that Enty posts the big event photos. I love red carpet fashion, and I'd sure rather see it here than on other websites.

  14. I'd rather read about Sandra Bullock than Brangelina any day. I'm sick to death of seeing them everywhere.
