Kobe Bryant's Maid Knew Some Stuff

Last month, Kobe Bryant's maid settled her lawsuit with Kobe and his wife Vanessa. The documents were sealed so we didn't know how much she was paid to drop the suit. She had originally sued because she claimed Vanessa Bryant treated her worse than a dog and yelled at the maid, verbally abused her, humiliated her along with a litany of other charges. I guess Vanessa didn't want anything else to become public so the Bryant's settled. TMZ discovered the maid was paid $200K to stay quiet and never talk about any of it again.

  1. Only $200k? Sheesh. The dirt must not have been THAT bad.

  3. Echoing selenakyle here. $200k seems an awfully low amount of money to shut someone up- especially coming from someone as loaded as the Bryants.

  5. I'm in agreement with everyone else: they got off cheap there! I would have held out for a lot more.

  6. She must have not known much to get only $200k. But she better be careful because if the record is sealed and things start to come out then she may have to give back all of that money back.

  7. They'll have to find her, first. She's certainly figured out that these are not people who should have your forwarding addy.

Is a settlement of this sort taxable? Maybe as severance?

Any "earned" income is taxable. Settlements are not.

  11. Vanessa stayed with Kobe because she is the definition of gold-digging bitch. Seriously. Look it up in the dictionary, Vanessa's picture is there.
