Jan-Michael Vincent Gets Kicked Out Of Hotel
Don't you just love when you haven't heard from someone in what seems like years and then when you finally do it is because they have done something obnoxious. I had not thought of or heard the name Jan-Michael Vincent in a very long time.
Then, last night I was trying to finish watching the first season of Party Down which is excellent. It takes some time to get into it, but Jane Lynch is so so damn good in it. God she is amazing.
Anyway, she mentioned Jan-Michael Vincent in an episode last night and this morning I see Jan-Michael was kicked out of a hotel. It all happened in the Columns Hotel in new Orleans. Jan, who is an 80 pound 65 year old was in a bar with a woman friend. They were drinking as one tends to do in New Orleans. Sazerac anyone? Best drink ever. Anyway, Jan's companion was trashed and began yelling at the other bar patrons and then tried to steal Jan's drink. Not a good idea. Jan bit her hand and that caused more screaming and yelling. At that point the hotel staff decided that Jan-Michael would not be staying another night in their hotel.
Poor Jan,
ReplyDeleteHe ain't look that good in quite a looooooooong time
Oooh bar fight! Bar fight!
ReplyDeleteI have to say, when I saw the headline, I thought, "He's still alive???"
Second thought: Didn't know what Sazerac was. Looked it up. Must try. Drinks sometime, Enty? :-)
I've never heard of this person in my life.
ReplyDeleteSexy picture though :)
AIRWOLF! Man he was hot back in the day.
ReplyDeleteawww - I loved him in Airwolf ! He's sure hit the skids though !
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who isn't following? And he is an 80 lb man? WTF is going on?
ReplyDelete80 pounds? Isn't he around 5'9-10"? That's scary. I thought he has had a drinking problem for ages and that is why he faded away in Hollywood. Good for the hotel staff for not pulling the Hollywood nonsense of allowing a celebrity to misbehave.
ReplyDeleteHe was so gorgeous!! He was in a movie called "Buster and Billie" in the 70's and he was so gorgeous and sensitive in it. It is sad that he has fallen so far.
ReplyDeletenunaurbiz, that was my first thought too, because I got his name mixed up with Jon-Erik Hexum.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame he picked the wrong road. He was so popular when he was in Airwolf.
ReplyDeleteThe highlights of this post.. Party Down is Excellent and Jane Lynch is amazing ! Your so right Enty :)
ReplyDeleteJan's drink? So apparently he's fallen off the wagon again. Can't seem to stay off the sauce. He was so sexy.
ReplyDeleteEnty is posting random NY Post quotes as if they're facts. The person said JMV looked "like he was about 80 lbs." If he was literally 80 lbs I doubt he could make it into the bar. I think Enty is too excited for the weekend.
ReplyDeleteParty Down is great. I really love everyone on it. Jane Lynch was fantastic (as always), but season 2 with Megan Mullally taking over Lynch's spot is off to a great start.
Love a good sazerac!
ReplyDeleteHow sad. I had such a crush on him back in the "Airwolf" days.
ReplyDeleteHe has been a hopeless alcoholic for many years. Very sad - he was quite the hot dish in his day.
ReplyDeleteThe shocker here is not that he got thrown out .. it was that he somehow managed to get this ass to New Orleans to be thrown out in the first place!
ReplyDeleteHas Jan Michael Vincent ever NOT been a total mess?? I seriously think he has pretty much always been .. well .. off.
After not having heard from him in ages, I watched Buffalo 66 a while back, saw him in the film and until the credits rolled didn't even realize it was him. I felt badly about what awful shape he was/is in.
ReplyDeleteI just had my first Sazerac in NOLA in April. Very good but SO strong!
ReplyDeleteHe bit her hand?? hahahhahaha
Skeeball...Buster and Billie was one of my favorite JMV movies. He was so gorgeous, and had those sexy eyes going on. Too bad he never got his life together. What a wast of a good looking man.
ReplyDeleteI agree he used to be a hottie. Now he looks like Corneleus from 'Planet of the Apes'. At least in the face.
ReplyDeletei thought he was dead, too.
ReplyDeletethen i realized i was thinking of vincent van patton (aren't i?).
i haven't been to NOLA since the US legalized absinthe again, but i have developed quite a taste for it.
i've heard of sazerac, but i don't know where. i think i'll stick to my occasional bottle of absinthe, too damn expensive to mix with anything!
I think it's a heartbreaking story, the way he has destroyed himself with alcohol. Such a beautiful man.
ReplyDeleteHe's 65 now? I remember I had such a crush on him - I just didn't realize how long ago until now.
