Drugstore Cowboy Still Robbing Stores
At 73 years old, the author of Drugstore Cowboy, James Fogle, has been arrested for robbing a Seattle area pharmacy. Fogle has spent much of his life in prison. During one of those stints he wrote the book Drugstore Cowboy which was based on his own real life experiences of robbing pharmacies. The book was later made into one hell of a movie starring Matt Dillon and Kelly Lynch.
On Tuesday night, Fogle allegedly robbed a pharmacy with another man. Both men were arrested for suspicion of first degree robbery. A police officer told The Seattle Times, "He's 73 years old and this is probably the only thing he knows."
I just can't believe the guy made it to 73 years old after the life he has led.
F that, what happened to all the money he made from the book and movie rights??? That should have given him a nice life so that he would not need to rob drug stores.
ReplyDeleteI think this was the greatest movie that Matt Dillon ever did better then The Outsiders.
ReplyDeleteOne book and movie sale of rights does not set you up for life. This was in the 80's and clearly the auther never gave up the drugs.
i LOVED this movie. it made me realize matt dillon is a very gifted actor. same for kelly lynch.
ReplyDeleteand hate to tell you, but drug addicts aren't very good money managers. it doesn't surprise me at all this guy ran out of money.
I saw this on our local NW news channel yesterday, wasn't really paying attention, so I didn't realize it was him.
ReplyDeleteI remember that I loved this movie. Too bad I was on drugs or drunk when I watched it and I can't remember it.
ReplyDeletesyd, you should rent it again.
ReplyDeletethe soundtrack is also great. 'israelites' always makes me think of this movie.
Who put the fucking hat on the bed?
