Bret Michaels Is A One Man Medical Experiment
Just when I thought it might be safe to pull out the old Bret Michaels getting smacked in the head video he goes and has himself a warning stroke. Not a real stroke, but a warning. He had complained of some numbness in his left side, went to the hospital and they told him he had this warning stroke. Not to be deterred though, Bret is still planning on being on the finale of Celebrity Apprentice.
Doctors said this stroke was not a result of his brain hemorrhage. Really? I am not a medical expert and I didn't even stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night, but don't you think something that severe that happened to his body might have caused it. Doctor's discovered a hole in his heart. Are you telling me that when he was in the hospital for the hemorrhage and he all those billion tests done that no one saw the hole in his heart. Kind of sounds like a Poison song doesn't it.
Probably happened because of the thorns in roses. Just sayin'. Anyway, I hope you get better soon Bret. I miss showing the video, but I did dig out a bandanna last night to wear to the office today.
Brett's heart has a hole

Brett's heart has a hole
I can't believe I feel really sorry for this skank-lover. Being sick sucks, and his sicks are really serious.
ReplyDeleteI think he may want to slow down though. This 'double-rehab' he was doing, along with the promise to appear on CA finale....I think he needs to chill and let his body recover.
On top of everything, aren't diabetics slow to heal in general?
I hope he slows down too. After almost dying I think the last thing on my mind would be to appear on the Celebrity Apprentice. His body needs to recover.
ReplyDeleteLMAO @ Jillian S. !!
ReplyDeleteCelebrity Apprentice made me really change my opinion of him, but then again, it also made me really like Jesse James last season.
ReplyDeleteIf he was in the hospital for a hemorrhage of his brain, they wouldn't necessarily check his heart. They would concentrate on his head. It's not like they do full body scans for everyone that walks in. In any case, I send my best wishes.
ReplyDeleteI dated a severe diabetic and once he started getting ill...he was in and out of the hospital after that. It's like one thing began and then another serious complication began somewhere else...totally unrelated it would seem.
ReplyDeleteI had a TIA after my 3rd baby. OMG...the pain was unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The severe diabetics that I've heard of have all lost their true quality of life.
ReplyDeleteI can't tell if he wants to go on CA for the attention or if it is just his way of not allowing an illness to get the best of him.
Great. Now I have that awful Extreme song "Hole Hearted" in my head.
ReplyDeleteit's hard to feel sorry for someone who's practically stamping their own ticket to death's door. there's nothing rock n roll about an idiot that wont take time to sit down and rest, idc how much money he could make off this.
ReplyDeletefor your kids' sake bret, chill out, no one's expecting you on tour or tv yet!!!
nancer - to answer your question, because his first event was a hemorrhage, not a clot. PFOs don't cause hemorrhages. Both hemorrages and clots will cause strokes, yes, but they are essentially opposite from one another. One is where the blood doesn't clot at all (hemorrhage) and the other is where it clots to the point that it creates dangerous little plugs within a vessel. They can tell one from the other on a brain scanning.
ReplyDeleteWhat we HAVE learned is that Bret clearly suffers from some sort of coagulopathy (pathology of clotting), and the fact that he's a type I diabetic may factor into it.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say he needs to be under the care of a doctor more than he needs to be out on tour or doing Celebrity Apprentice. I'm very worried about his health.
