Today's Blind Items
This former A list television actor and former B list movie actor is now on a hit cable television show, but he is probably just a B- now. Big, big name recognition though. He is married to an actress. Anyway, he recently has been sporting bruises all over his body. When his friends asked how he got them, our actor said it was from a new kick boxing regimen. Actually though they are a result of his wife toppling a full bookcase on our actor after she caught him passed out drunk on their living room floor. He had told her he was sober now.

I love Duchovny, too, so I hope it's not him, but lots of stuff does fit. Maybe the sex addiction is triggered by drunken binges. Many addicts have more than one addiction - a main addiction and a secondary addiction, usually alcohol, that they use to "blame" for lapsing into their main addiction. "I'd have never shot up, but I was drunk." "I'd have never slept with her/him/them, but I was drunk." "I'd have never bet the housepayment on a football game, but I was drunk."

ReplyDeleteRead the blind - it says the actor is "former A list TV actor". Thomas Jane was never a regular on a series prior to Hung, so he doesn't fit.
I'm staying with Duchovny, though Danson is a good guess.
I had thought Duchovny too, but now I'm LOVING the Danny DeVito guess! Remember a few years ago when he showed up drunk on The View? Rhea Perlman is a tough cookie, she could do that. BUT...was he only a former B-list movie actor? Wasn't he A-list in the "Throw Momma..." and "Twins" days?

ReplyDeleteIt last mentions a show called It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia but his character arc ended in 2009.
Bacon isn't on a cable show now.
ReplyDelete"It's Always Sunny.." is supposed to run for 2 more years, so Devito might still fit (though I can't imagine him using a kick-boxing regimen as an excuse).
"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is coming back, and he's still going to be a part of it. Plus, he's one of the creators/producers of the show. It's a big cable hit, both with the coveted young demographic and with the critics. Well, some critics. It's kind of a love it or hate it kind of show.

ReplyDeleteI am on the duchovny train. I don't know if he's got alchy problems, but as someone else said above, people often have more than one addiction. and, he might have been channeling his sex addiction into a booze addiction. plus, tea must be at the end of her rope from all of it.
To me, "big, big" name recognition means it's someone my dad would know. He would know Devito, not Duchovny.

ReplyDeleteit seems fairly obviously a reference to ted danson, who was in that parenthood movie making him a b-list film actor and fits in every way, except that damages is on the verge of being cancelled so it seems unlikely that it would be considered a hit show. enty may be unaware of the fact that its about to be canceled as it used to be a very hit show

ReplyDeleteSorry to come spoil the fun everyone, but has anyone seen the BG blind item for today? Because the answer on that one is pretty clearly Duchovny and Tea (for being divorced), so wouldn't that make them unlikely for this one? I thought so anyways.

My vote is with Danny Devito.
I immediately thought of Ted Danson - 'Cheers' makes him A-list for TV; his movie credits would make him B for movies; and he's currently on 'Damages,' 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' (possibly the hit cable show Enty's referring to), and 'Bored to Death.'
