Some Inside Details On Nicollette Sheridan Suing Marc Cherry

Last night after I read about Nicollette Sheridan suing the creator of Desperate Housewives and her former boss, I made some calls and found about what the hit in the face is that Nicollette refers to her in her suit. In case you haven't seen the lawsuit, Nicollette is suing Marc Cherry for $20M for assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination. In the suit she says that Marc Cherry hit her in the face. He did. Apparently Nicollette was upset about the script and started yelling at Marc in front of the whole cast and crew. He then motioned her to come with him. They went off to the side, but could still be seen by people. He started talking harshly to her and then grabbed her by the elbow and took the palm of his hand and hit her forehead with his palm. Kind of like the V-8 commercials except you do that to yourself and don't have others do it to you. And, this one was hard enough to kind of leave a mark. This incident happened shortly before she was fired so, it definitely could be the reason.

  2. Enty, I usually don't question you but in this case... are you for sure for sure? Marc Cherry has been a dear, loyal, sweet and kind friend to a friend of mine for over 20 years. He is the kind of man who takes care and protects the people in his life. This is so out of character, it's hard to believe. I say that also having witnessed Nicolette be a super diva and treat people with incredible contempt. So... really???

  3. You know what? Sheridan may be a difficult, argumentative person, but there's no reason to resort to violence. He could have just written her off, which he did.

Also, I don't know this man, but years ago (when DH became a huge hit) I saw a documentary about it and how it had been created, and I remember thinking he seemed such a creepy little man.

  4. James L. Brooks would never have done that to George Wendt.

  5. A year after she was fired NOW she sues? All sounds like a grab for cash since no one wants to hire her squashed face anymore.

I'm sure she would of kept quiet if ABC gave her some kind of development deal.

If he put her hands on her it is wrong but from all accounts she really is a miserable person to work with.

  6. I wonder what hurt worse: the smack to the head or Michael Bolton serenading her...?

  7. Yeah I agree with Apple for me its the timing of this, why not sue when it happened? I have always had issues when someone sues a year or years after the fact, it always seems suspect to me.

  8. I hear she's a capital-B Bitch, but no matter HOW angry someone makes you, except in self-defense it's never okay to lay a hand on another person.

  9. @Gretchen- I completely co-sign on that. She might be Cunty McCuntpants but that doesn't make it right. Although I confess that there have been many, many times I have been tempted to smack a ho.

  10. y'all act like she would leave the set after he smacked her and file suit. It doesn't work like that in real life people. Imagine the exchange of phone calls and meetings that took place after that and then lawyers getting involved. I'm sure there was talk on both sides to make it go away and it couldn't be resolved so Sheridan said, Fuck you, see ya in court...file the papers.

  13. When you file a suit it can sometimes be because up until that point you have been trying to settle the claim or because you needed to make sure you had witnesses, etc. There is a statute of limitations on these claims and often people will file close to when the statute is about to run. So the timing doesn't necessarily mean she is lying to get attention.

  16. Agree with BlahFrickinBlah and the fact that it is NEVER okay to hit.

  17. Yeah, I can see why it'd take a year to file the lawsuit. I think Alice D Millionaire is right. Her lawyers have probably been working on the case for months, maybe trying to reach a settlement or track down witnesses and get their ducks in a row.
