A New Use For Craigslist
Phillip Conran of Hartford, CT was arrested and charged with harassment, reckless endangerment, breach of peace, accessory to burglary, accessory to sexual assault, accessory to disorderly conduct, accessory to criminal trespass and risk of injury to child. To those charges he plead no contest. Now, how exactly did these charges come about? Well, it seems that Phillip was having a disagreement with his neighbors over a few things so he used Craigslist to get back at them. Conran posted an ad on Craigslist which was headlined "Looking For Lust." Although the ad was written by Conran he wrote it as if it was coming from his soccer mom neighbor who was desperate to have an orgy with as many guys as possible.
"I want to please as many as I can before going to work!"
The ad gave the woman's address and several men showed up for the fun.
serious douche neighbor...unbelievably petty, irresponsible and dangerous...and at 42? i hope they come down hard on this guy.
ReplyDeletegood lord.
ReplyDeletewhat a sick, twisted human being. not to mention the party-goers who came running at the prospect of group sex with a complete stranger.
did the guy charged with sexual assault end up at the wrong house? i didn't get that part.
Couldn't he just put a flaming pile of dog shit on their front stoop, ring the bell, and run away?
ReplyDeleteHoly shit! What ever happened to just putting sugar in their gas tank?
ReplyDeleteThis is now a common occurence, people using CL to get back at someone by placing ridiculous ads. I am glad he got busted and hope he gets some time so to dissuade others from doing the same.
ReplyDeletewhat would you say to a guy ringing your door bell looking for an orgy? I mean "no...." seems rather week
ReplyDeleteThis is what you call an inability to look down the road and see the consequences of that brief moment of satisfaction.
ReplyDeleteso dangerous...can you imagine the strange horny men going to her house asking for some nookie?
ReplyDeleteI hope the guy loses his house and his job. Idiot.
ReplyDelete@ jess. That is so scary. And I imagine the type of men that showed up might not be the type to take "no" for an answer. That poor mom could have easily gotten killed by one of those men when she refused them and no one would have known why.
ReplyDelete@ pookie. What about the story of the mom cyber-bullying her daughter's frenemy on Facebook? You would think by the time you reach ur 40s you would be aware of how immature said type of action is.

BQ, so true! omg, that story was so sad...imagine how these people's children will turn out. eeek.
ReplyDeleteWas I the only one who thought this was hilarious!? Omg, I know its childish and stupid and juvenile of him to do this but holy crap, what a great way to get back at someone whose pissed you off! Hahahhaa
ReplyDeleteHere is The Smoking Gun's story. Yes, the second idiot arrested went to the wrong house and assaulted an 18 year old:

@ Jasmine: No you aren't the only one (slinking away in shame).
ReplyDeletemy mum had the similar trouble.
ReplyDeleteSeveral years ago, guys called my mum because someone let her phone number on a sex meeting site.
We went to the police office and they found it was a woman of her bank who joked!
Weird Al has a funny song/video called Craigslist done in the style of The Doors.
ReplyDeleteHow do people in this day and age think they can get away with doing something like that? It's called an IP address good as a fingerprint.
ReplyDeleteI mean if he had any brains he should of gone to a library or internet cafe. I mean not that I would ever do something like that. But.....
I remember when my younger sister was in high school, some guy she broke up with didn't take the breakup very well. He advertised a brand new set of tires for $5.00 on CL with her name, phone number and address. We had all sorts of strange men showing up at our house looking for my sister and her tires.
ReplyDeleteIt could've been worse. I've heard of at least one case where a guy pretended to be a woman and posted on a rape forum that she wanted to be attacked. That way even when she said "no" the guys thought it was just part of the role playing. Sick fucks.
ReplyDelete...accessory to burglary, accessory to sexual assault, accessory to disorderly conduct, accessory to criminal trespass...
ReplyDeleteHe sure knows how to accessorize.
Jerry - AWESOME! HAHAHA
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought this was funny too, which is why I read the comments. The repercussions never crossed my mind. What a dangerous thing to do.
Remember that movie with Juliette Lewis where her husband comes home and she has been advertising for sex. A stranger rings the bell, he answers, the stranger asks if this is the house for the gang bang??? That's what I thought of when I heard this. Just not funny in real life, not funny.
