ReplyDeleteBut, Scarlett Johanssen is TOTALLY overrated. She's been in some pretty prestige pictures and she plays the same energy, delivery and clearly can't act. And I think her career is starting to show it - all these other young actresses are on the come up with projects and where is she?? She's gorgeous, though so I suppose that's it.
He didn't recently work on The Wrestler. My money's on Scarlett Johanssen. Although I don't think she has "everyone" fooled- she's terrible.

ScarJo FTW! She somehow landed all those roles in Oscar-worthy and big blockbuster movies with such wooden, monotonous acting. Way overhyped. Don't know if there are any rumours out there, but it wouldn't surprise me if she got her start on the casting couch. I had hopes that she was more than just a gorgeous face, but that notion went out the window after her marriage to Ryan Reynolds.

I actually thought that she looked nervous on True Blood...

i like Evan Rachel Wood's acting,Johanson was so great in her first movies(translation,girl with a pearl...),Goopie (even if she's not my fav)was good in "2 lovers" so i say Tomei(big ego,diva and alcohol trouble)

Here's why I don't think it's ERW--because she was caught hanging around with Mickey Rourke after they finished their movie (some say they were even making out) and this quote sounds mean spirited as if he doesn't much care for this actress. I think this is ScarJo. Look at their recent press pictures, she looks awkward. Like not included.

ReplyDeleteTed Casablanca gave Gwyneth the with-her-til-the-end nickname "Fishsticks" -- as in, cold as a fish, skinny and unappealing, and he kind of took it back after meeting her. I don't think it's her - I don't think Paltrow or Tomei are that insecure.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE this to be Evan Rachel Wood - she's had almost nothing but raves (Once and Again, Thirteen, Pretty Persuasion, Down in the Valley) - but as many have written, her work on True Blood shows her as a terrible fucking actress, to go along with being a terrible fucking bitch (the sniping at Dita von Teese).
I win either way, though, because if it's Scarlett Johannsson or however the eff you spell her last name, that's also a force for good in terms people finally, FINALLY calling things as they are - if it weren't for her rack, she wouldn't work. She's like ERW with ridiculously overinflated reviews (Ghost World, Lost in Translation, Girl with a Pearl Earring, the vampy crap of Match Point and Vicky Cristina Barcelona) -- it took slower folk like 10 years to recognize that she's the same in every goddamn picture - bovine, arrogant and dumb.
If Mickey could work with Natalie Portman and then tell the world how shitty her acting is, he would have my love forever.

ReplyDeleteERW sucks as the Queen on True Blood but did fool around with Mickey. ERW was a better actress when she was younger. The reason why ERM dropped out of the Spiderman musical was the answer to a CDAN blind item. ERW was banging the director and her husband and got tired of being theyre plaything.
Marissa Tomei is supposedly a drunk but still can act & got an Oscar.
Megan has not acted in anything other than the Transformer movies and we all know she had to wash Michael Bay's car in short shorts to get the part.
Plus if anyone saw Fox on SNL she SUCKED. She was used more as a prop than as the main star of the skits. She only had lines in the digital shorts & they even sucked as well. She is a pretty face with an empty head.
As for Mickey's comments about Fox being a genius sounds like he was being "Hollywood-politically correct" and not rocking the boat. Actually this is the sort of this Mickey would do. Say the opposite of what he feels. Mickey isnt stupid. He knows he got a 2nd chance and is not going to do anything to blow it. So far he's doing a nice job.
I gotta go with GOOP on this one...if you see her on camera "impromptu" interviews, she looks nervous as hell. I've never seen an actress look so terrified and say such stupid things...of course, that may just be her.

It's Scar Jo. She has a reputation of having severe stage fright. She even admitted as much before taking her Broadway turn.

Scarlett Johannson was in Ghost World (?), giving a very natural and extremely well-reviewed performance way before The Horse Whisperer. At 13 or so, I think. It would be very unusual if a child star who had graduated into doing an equally well-reviewed performance in an Arthur Miller play on Broadway had this level of nerves. Not impossible, just very unusual.
