Kate Gosselin Doesn't Know What Jon Does For Money

After having watched way too many episodes of Jon & Kate Plus 8 there is one thing I concluded. I really need to find better ways to spend my time and I have no desire to have 6 kids all at once. Oh, and that Kate Gosselin was in Jon's business every second of every day. So, when she told Jay Leno last night that she doesn't know what Jon does for work or how he earns money, I find that very hard to believe. The guy is paying child support. She knows. I understand she is making money and taking care of her kids. What I dislike is when she says things like she needs to be on reality shows to put food on the table of her kids. Uh huh. And also to pay for all her nannies and chefs and bodyguards.

  1. I do not like this woman, and I never will. Ever. No matter what.

  2. I am not pro-Kate by any stretch, but this could very well have been her way to say that he's not working or making his payments. Call her what you want, but at least one of them is bringing in some money.

  4. If Jon weren't making his payments she would be on every talk show crying about it. Believe me, we would know if he were an hour late with a payment.

  7. Jon is paying about $20K a month in child support. I agree with Taylor, if he wasn't current, she'd be back in court. He's either paying this from the assets he got in the divorce, or maybe TLC money. He is still under contract with them. TLC is invested in Kate and allows her to go to the media and say whatever she wants about him. Jon isn't allowed to go to the same media outlets and defend himself. TLC is evil.

  8. yeah, I call a ban. And attention whoring is not her only form of income. It's called, reduce the lifestyle and then she could "make it" with her old job, an RN. I can't help it if they blew all their money. I don't want to see either anymore, they make me sick.

  9. While I certainly don't appreciate that her kids are being put through this, or the fact that both parents are more interested in themselves... they're going to have 8 children who'll be going to college all at the same time. Most people who have a lot of kids at least have them a bit more spread out. I'd say that at least THAT is something that she should be concerned about having enough money for- most families today won't have enough to send one or two kids to college, much less eight.

  10. Paisley's right, TLC is evil. When I heard they are bringing this wretched woman back for another show to continue raping us with their bullshit, I decided to ban all TLC shows. Them & Nike. I might be small, but I'm not an idiot.

  13. The kids' college is all paid for by the state of PA as long as they attend school there. She has no worries for their college tuition. She could have kept the old house, which was perfectly fine and roomy. She could have invested her funds and taken the kids out of private school - it's not like they lived in a bad area. She could have supported them all just fine with the addition of her RN salary. She could swing a flexible shift and Jon could have done whatever it is he does, (IT?), and paid support. They'd have been "normal". They chose to be greedy instead - ginormous house with "grounds" that need constant upkeep, a pool, private schools, stupid matching clothes, ridiculous parties, free crap and trips galore and selling their kids' souls and taking away their true stability. Fame whores. Everything that comes out of her mouth is a self-serving lie.

  14. @Melissa - Agree w/ you completely. I didn't know that about the kids college tuition......

I wouldn't mind a ban on her either. She makes me very angry.

  15. Melissa, that was very well said. And thanks for the info about college for the kids---it's VERY nice to know they all have an automatic 'out' from that woman.

Lots of couples used to have large families, and would get by on just dad's income. The mother would can produce from the backyard garden. Old clothes were mended and handed down. J & K could have done it the normal way, but they were too lazy and it's too easy these days to get famous.

  16. No one is buying what bullshit she is selling. There are millions of single parents who have to work that do it off camera in the same state as their kids.

As far as college, they've already made millions and they don't need to live in such a huge, expensive home. They don't need nannies, chefs, and bodyguards. They don't need to sacrifice the kid's emotional well being for Kate's need for fame and Jon's desire to have rather than take care of his kids.

  17. I am certainly not a fan, but at this point I think it would be next to impossible for her to go back to being a nurse. Who would hire her? What patients want paparazzi following their nurse around? What hospital wants that kind of attention?

So, as reprehensible as she may be, at least she is trying to provide something for her family. Which is more than it looks like Jon is doing.

  18. I agree with melissa, too. My parents had 8 kids on a teacher's salary. Although that was a few years back, it was still very expensive to have that many kids. We wore hand-me-downs, had controlled portions of food (a small piece of steak per child, etc.). Because of our ages, 4 of us were in college at one time -- our tuition was paid though scholarships, work-study, part time jobs etc. Most of us went to state schools as that was cheaper. Raising 8 kids today can be done, if the parents work hard! Kate and Jon sold their souls to the devil (TLC) and their children will pay the price.
