Gabriel & Halle Split - Did He Find Someone?

Another relationship I thought would be around forever. Or at least a few more years. I thought Halle Berry & Gabriel Aubry had a good system going. It seemed like they rarely saw each other which I thought was their secret to keep things going. Apparently not. The two have split and according to Radar, they are implying that Gabriel didn't want to cheat on Halle but has already found someone else.

"Also, Gabriel started noticing other women, and being attracted to others, and he felt it just wasn't right to stay with Halle in those circumstances. Gabriel is a really nice, decent guy and he would never cheat on her, but I suspect that he had become attracted to someone and that he felt he needed to break it off with Halle before anything developed any further."

The two have been working on a custody and financial arrangement for a few months and it seems like everything is completed. This really sucks. I would love some happy news. They were a great couple. Does anyone stay together anymore?

  1. I thought he was just more of a casual BF who also wanted children.

I did hope she'd get another baby before they broke up, though.

  2. I saw this one coming. When's the last time they were photographed together? Ages ago.

  3. Does anyone past the age of twenty actually really expect that s/he will never be attracted to someone else after they take their vows? You get married, you don't DIE.

Of course you feel temptation, get crushes, etc. But then you WALK away from it because you've made a bet that the long term trust and devotion that comes with sticking with a relationship is WORTH sacrificing a passing attraction for.

    What a big damn baby.

  5. I agree with Jenny. Boo on him!

  6. They were a great couple? How so? They apparently were rarely together, so please explain how this is a great couple. Perhaps you mean they were a great LOOKING couple. That's about all they really had going for them.

  7. @Jenny

Exactly. Agree 100%. The whole point of marriage (besides kids) is staying together through the good and bad. It's like a test.

  8. I really think I should just grow old with dogs...

He has always looked to me like he might like guys a little more than women anyway. His people are playing the age card, oh poor guy, the 9 year difference in their ages is starting to matter to him now, blah blah blah. Didn't he realize she would always be 9 years older than he is? And that's not a big deal if there is real commitment, I know at least three couples in which the wife is that much older than the husband, and they all have steady, long term marriages.

I think people only valuing her looks above all else fucked up her self-worth, and she entered and stayed in some pretty fucked up relationships because of it.

I liked her with Gabriel because didn't seem so damn crazy and consumed by her personal issues. I think this has more to do with wanting and having a child than him though. I never saw their connection, but she always spoke very highly of him and seemed to be in a better place these last few years.

  12. totally off topic, but Shaz we were talking about you on Facebook. We decided "Shazzzba-ed" is a verb (as in, "I totally Shazzzba-ed on that post, sorry" for typing in all caps). :)

I think he's basically a rent boy and the contract was up, like Jax said.

  13. Jeez, I've been married for 25 years and I still look at other men. I just look. I'd look at Gabriel!

  14. I think Jax is right. I think she wanted a kid and that was the deal - five years is pretty reasonable, and they seem to have kept everything else compartmentalized financially.

I am not, however, feeling this crap that his pr is pushing. He knew all these things ahead of time and he needs to not make her age or "noticing other people" an issues because he sounds like an idiot. Which may be true in any event.

    They are not married.

  17. Jenny summed it up pretty eloquently.

  18. halle needs to take some time and seriously assess her choices when it comes to men. love her, but she's picked 3 losers in a row.

  19. If I recall, before the baby it was a "long distance relationship". They never seemed like a great love match. Halle got the pretty baby and an attractive escort and the lawyers will work out the details.

  20. I'm not buying the "Gabrielle's a playa" angle. I think gorgeous Halle is bat shit crazy & an exhaustive trainwreck of emotional issues. Pretty goes only so far & then the reality of high maintenance kicks in. He seems like a decent & gracious guy. Maybe the 'other woman' is someone he can connect with better.

  21. I just don't think she is that good looking.

Maybe he just got tired of her. It happens.

  22. I'm with m.
And I also feel sorry for Halle if this is true. She deserves lasting happiness and a man that doesn't hit her or get bored of her.

  23. I've never been a big Halle fan and why does no one remember the hit in run or the suicide talk after both divorces. I hope for the kids sake that she has grown more stable and can deal with her emotions better.

  24. Wow. But I give him kudos for ending it before taking it any farther. As we all know, not everyone does that.

  25. I don't know what the true story is, but even if it's a lie, it's nice to hear about someone breaking up BEFORE starting to date other people.

  26. they had great genes together: their daughter!

  27. I never thought they were REALLY a couple. I thought they were together for his DNA in exchange for a better career.

  28. Halle had been shopping around for a "baby daddy" before she met Gabriel. I've always thought that when she met him she asked if he was willing to have a child with her and he agreed.

That's all it was, a simple arrangement to have a child without attachments. Now they've both moved on.

Oh and someone else pointed out that Halle's relationships never last longer than five years.

    I guess they were right.

I agree w/Jax. This guy was hired to be a pretty sperm donor by HB; he fulfilled his end of the deal, they faked it a little longer, and now he's free and likely a lot richer than he was before.

  30. This sperm donor/ hired boyfriend theory has to be hands down one of the STUPIDEST theories ever uttered since the magic bullet and the Warren Commission fiasco. Two people in Hollywood - or anywhere for that matter - broke up. Ooooh... This isn't an X-files episode; It's life. Have anyone NOT broken up before? Jesus... I don't think there is an Area 51 or grand conspiracy here. I think two people grew apart and kept it moving. . . in different directions.

  31. don't recall details but everytime i've read about her she seems very high-maintenance.

  32. This reminds me of Madonna and Carlos Leon.

  33. My wife and I have been together for 29 years. She deserves the credit, not me. So yes sane people stay together.
