Gabourey Sidibe Hosting SNL


In what should be a great episode, Saturday Night Live announced that Gabourey Sidibe will be the host very soon. According to E! there is no exact date, although there is a date set for Ryan Phillippe. Can someone please explain to me why Ryan Phillippe is hosting SNL? Yes, he will probably do a good job. That isn't the point. Lots of actors can do a good job. Lots can also do a bad job. Is he that big of a star where he should get the nod? Really? There was no one else bigger who was willing to do it? He isn't exactly a huge draw. Now, Gabourey Sidibe is someone people want to see. Will they still want to see her a few years from now? Maybe or maybe not, but for now they do and she will be fun to watch.
