The Other Woman In The Kate Winslet - Sam Mendes Marriage?
The Daily Mail must have gone through a Thesaurus to find words for close in their article on Sam Mendes and one of the possible reasons that he and Kate Winslet are getting divorced. According to them, Kate was ticked off at how close Sam had become with his latest muse. Her name is Rebecca Hall. She is both a stage and screen actress and is 27. Sam and Rebecaa have been working on several projects together that have caused them to spend much of the past year together. Sources call them very, very close and Kate didn't like it at all.
The Mail does throw in a quote at the end of their article from a friend of Sam's saying that he doesn't think the couple are anything more than friends but the article is clearly designed to give the impression that Sam and Rebecca are having a thing together. Whether that thing happened before or after the separation or was the cause of the divorce or what, no one is saying.
I always hate those sort of statements "she's my muse" or "she inspires me", most of the times it's an excuse for cheating.
ReplyDeleteThat's sad. Kate deserves a lot better. I'm glad she kicked him to the curb.
ReplyDeleteWeird to read Sam & Rebecca--those are the names of my kids.
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is where there is smoke, there is ususally fire.
Well, well, well...and here most of us were (kinda) assuming it was Kate sneaking out with someone else...
ReplyDeleteOr that Sam is pudgy, etc. and now she has her Oscar she wants to dump him.
How do ya like that? I am really glad it was not Kate who was the dumpee, IF this is true. Of course, she still coulda had her own strange on the side.
Whatever, but cool example of it just goes to show we can never tell what goes on behind closed doors, huh?!
I think most directors fall in love with someone under their direction at one point or another. Same goes with some actors, vice/versa.
Rebecca isn't anything special in the looks department lol she looks like lily taylor with cheek implants and botox.
ReplyDeleteshe just wants to look like angelina. blech.
I think Hall was in Vicky Cristina Barcelona? I didn't care for her in that movie at all. In fact, the entire movie reminded me why I tend not to watch Woody Allen films.
ReplyDeleteI did a lot of theater when I was young. When you work that intensly with people for weeks at a time, there is lots of falling into something...not sure I would call it love. Intense like with lots of lust.
ReplyDelete....and I agree with Jess. Shes my muse. Gag throw up.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping Enty will provide more insider information on this news (and Sandra Bullock's situation) than just regurgitating the info that is available on all other gossip sites. C'mon Enty - step up to the plate! Please??
ReplyDeleteYeah, the muse excuse seems rather played out.
ReplyDeleteEnty has no inside info on this - he said he never saw it coming. That means he can't claim it as a reveal.
ReplyDeleteRebecca Hall is daughter of Sir Peter Hall, founder of the Royal Shakespeare Company and Director of the (UK) National Theatre. Not that that means anything, but she's not some bimbo starlet trying to improve her career.
Sam and Rebecca....that reminds me of Sam Malone and Rebecca Howe on that short-lived, rarely seen television show people were discussing the other day...!
ReplyDeleteHa ha, Robert! I love that line...
ReplyDeleteRebecca Hall was also in The Prestige (she's Christian Bale's wife) and in Frost/Nixon.
ReplyDeleteRemember it's the British tabloids we're talking about and they're notorious for printing crap when they have no actual stuff to fill a story.
Oh I like Rebecca Hall. I hope this isn't true. Probably isn't.
ReplyDeleteAnyway I've always thought Kate Winslet was in love with Leo. To him she's just a friend but pretty sure to her he was the one that she could never have so she settled for Sam.
WTF?
ReplyDeleteShe looks just like Freckles from Lost!
The Royal Shakespeare Company was founded in 1879 so Rebecca Hall's father wasn't the founder. Even after being in a Woody Allen film she's not exactly a household name so attaching herself to another Oscar winning director doesn't mean she's not a bimbo starlet, just like all the annoying Hollywood progeny who think they are doing us a huge favor by following in mommy or daddy's footsteps.

Could you speak for yourself please? Not all of us automatically lay the blame on the woman.

It's been a while since Enty has *any* inside info (more like never).
lol @ Robert :)
ReplyDelete@Tatyana - while I agree with your first comment to selenakyle - I take exception to your second.
This is the second or third time in the last little while where you've complained about Enty's lack of "insider info". 1) what do you think the blinds are?? and 2) if you're so annoyed, why do you still visit?
Sir Peter Hall is top of the heap in the British theater and opera world. He has supported Rebecca's career by directing her in some theater productions and she is a very good actress. Sam Mendes is a British theater director. He has probably known Rebecca since before she made her stage debut. BTW her mother was a superstar of European Opera in the 1970-80's. Rebecca is like one of the Redgraves--she probably is honorary goddaughter to most of the theater influentials in Europe and New York. And I have no idea if she is more interested in movies or theater. But she is guaranteed a huge career with or without Mendes.
