Your Turn

Very simple today. SuperBowl Sunday is just two days away.

1. Saints
2. Colts
3. Biggest Loser Marathon

Oh, and when you make your pick, please consider the following. If New Orleans wins we will be inundated with pictures of Kim Kardashian. If the Colts win, we will be inundated with pictures of Kendra Wilkinson.

  1. none of the above. i think i'll end up doing laundry on sunday, which is i guess the same as a biggest loser marathon.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Colts. I saw enough of the video to make me think sex with Kim seems unappealing.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Colts win walking away from the game.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Ghost Hunters marathon!

I will only be watching the commercials for the Super Bowl and hoping the Colts win because my Indiana friends will be very happy.

    ReplyDelete
  5. It's simple for me. The Saints. I blame the Colts for knocking out the Steelers (I know, not directly) and the Jets. Assholes. Go Saints.

Oh - and it would be nice for New Orleans to have this win.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Colt's, not cause I like them, but b/c my boyfriend already picked the Saints. Plus my team choked(thanks Favre) and didn't make it.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Saints. And if I have to pick between Kim and Kendra, I pick Kim, just because her laugh isn't so f-ing annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Don't care. I agree with KLM, it would be nice for the Saints to win.

I do like the Bud commercials with the Clydesdales. I look forward to those.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Saints because I've been a Fujita fan ever since he became vocally supportive of marriage equality. Oh, and a couple of my dearest friends are from New Orleans.

  11. @nunaurbiz~ I'm down with the Ghost Hunters marathon!Love me some T.A.P.S
I'd like to see the Saints win, but I'll check back at the end of the game. I don't plan on watching it....except during commercials to maybe catch a few of the new ones:)

saints - as a steelers fan, it is a must. hell, if the colts were playing a team made up of lohans, kardashians, hiltons, cast of the hills - i'd still have to go against the colts. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  13. Meh. I don't really care. There's a rumor going around Indianapolis that Peyton Manning in cheating on his wife though... One of my clients told me about it, she lives in Indy.

Just some gossip from that neck of the woods.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I want the Saints to win but I think the Colts will probably take it. But I like both teams so I'll watch for the sheer pleasure of the sport. I hope Bush sucks though because I can't take anymore shots of KimK doing her fake celebration stick.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Just watching the SB commercials, but I'm rooting for Saints since everyone else in my office thinks the Colts are going to kill them.

    ReplyDelete
  16. id rather see kendra instead of that whoredashian

    ReplyDelete
  17. 4. Studying music theory. Yay.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Colts, because I like Kendra a heck of a lot better than I like any Kardashian.

    ReplyDelete
  19. stephernutter12:38 PM

    4. Studying for an exam. Yay being a med student (although I guess I better get used to not being able to do things I want because of my crazy schedule lol)

    ReplyDelete
  20. After the way the Saints treated Favre I am going with the Colts. Even though I don't like Manning, I kind of had to go with the lesser of two evils for me.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Anonymous12:38 PM

Great, so if the saints wins, we'll be subjected to pictures from someone who deserves to be on the ho stro... and if the colts win, we get pictures of someone who doesn't mind sleeping with 90 year olds farts...

I'd rather stick needles in my eyes. It's a no-win situation.

    ReplyDelete
  22. @DJ - Can I watch the game with you? I'll bring snacks. Anyone but the Colts. Steelers next year!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Colts AND Puppy Bowl (w/kitty half-time show)

    ReplyDelete
  24. @mikey - hey - why am I being left out in the cold?? Go Steelers!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Anonymous12:44 PM

Colts, colts colts. Saints are dirty players that went out of their way to try to physically injure Farve again and again because they knew that they did not have the skill to win if Brett Farve was 100%. Drew Brees and his team are goin down....

And Kendra seemed to be the nicest of the GND to me..

    ReplyDelete
  26. And what do people talk about who are not from the U. S.? Hmpf!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Who Dat??

    The Saints all the way!!!

I'm not even a football fan.. BUT my neighbors are Katrina transplants, and if I don't root for the Saints you might find my body buried in their backyard!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I plan to watch the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. I am rooting for the Saints, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Anonymous12:49 PM

Colts. Kendra's husband barely plays, so she won't get nearly the face time as Kim (who is already milking the Saints playoff run for everything she can).

Peyton having an affair wouldn't surprise me given his reaction to the Tiger scandal. I initially chalked it up to the same shock as everyone, but I'm more and more convinced it's because he's got similar skeletons. And he makes my gaydar go off.

And I say all of this as a fan of Manning's.

    ReplyDelete
  30. When you put it that way, Enty, I have to go with the Biggest Loser Marathon. Or maybe I'll just work since these days I seem to be a workaholic. Sigh.

  32. None of the above. I'll be catching up with what's already on my DVR - Big Love, Friday Night Lights, or maybe Fringe.

    ReplyDelete
  33. @KLM - how could I have forgotten you?! We Steeler - rooting for the Saints - fans have to stick together! *head hung in shame*

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'll be choosing #4 - at work on a weekend. As miserable as I felt earlier knowing that would be my fate, looking at my other options now I think I'm better off.

But if I wasn't working, I'd say Colts. There is just one of Kendra. With Kim, you get her plus her entire family unit spouting off their mouths to every media outlet they can find. Kendra is much more tolerable.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Haha SueEllen. Glad we could pass the Favre botch, er torch, to you.

I have to root for the Saints. I don't care if I watch it, though.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm not from the US, but I'm talking about it.

    ReplyDelete
  37. There has gotta be a twilight zone marathon on somewhere!!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. DJ, ITA. Peyton is funny on TV commercials or SNL, but I've never liked him as a player. I'm still bummed that Bret isn't in it, but I'll go with the Saints.

Big party for me on Sunday. Carne asada BBQ, lots of cold beer, shrimp cocktail, yelling, arguing (between the Chargers' and Raiders' fans in the family), betting, and if we're not too drunk by the end of the game, we'll move the furniture aside and dance.

Dn't forget the all-day Jersey Shore marathon on MTV--it starts early enough that you can watch that AND the Superbowl. Guidos and gridirons...!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Ah, he's not too bad MrsCool, he's just old. And he chokes, but I'm from Toronto, so I'm really used to people choking.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Just depends if I get called in to work this weekend. If not, the Biggest Loser Marathon seems like a smashing good time.

    ReplyDelete
  43. @Ms. Cool... I'm always on the same page with you! Favre is dead to me.

Although I'm cheering for the Colts (their former coach, Tony Dungy, is a friend of mine), I think a first-time win for the Saints would be cool.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Being from the Baltimore area, where the majority of ppl still hold a major grudge against the Colts, I gotta go with the Saints, if only to preserve my life LOL :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. Saints 34, Colts 30. Last minute touchdown pass for Drew Brees.

    ReplyDelete
  46. The story that goes around about Peyton is that they have an "understanding" and I guess they both openly cheat--I think he is known to be hooking up with one of the local newsgirls. I dislike both these teams but the combo of Shockey, who is so skeevy, and Reggie Bush- who is actually known for being one of the biggest draft busts ever, makes me lean a bit to the Colts, although they beat my Bears a few years back-- I think the only real choice here is to drink.. heavily.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Colts because Peyton and the team are AMAZING.

    Go Saints!

Saints of course! My home state. Never thought I would see the day they would play in the Superbowl. They deserve it and I wish I was back home partying with them.

    ReplyDelete
  50. COLTS!!!! and my mom's lasagna. Can.Not.Wait.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Vikings! Wait, that's not right. Kendra! Apart from the bonus of her being a non-Kardassian, I kinda like her.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Go Kendra! And I miss Baskett. He should have never been traded from the Eagles.

Is there any way to tape the commercials and NOT the Superbowl?

    ReplyDelete
  53. @Mikey - pick that head back up! Go Saints (and them Stillers will take the superbowl next year)!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Sue Ellen - there is more sinister things to Brett than he is just old. Nothing stirs my ire like he does. I almost named my son Brett but am so glad I didn't. I think you have to be in the seats of NY Emerald or me - you'll feel used and betrayed. And yes, you'll come off sounding like a bitter ex-girlfriend, too.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Colts all the way, baby! Beat Reggie Bush's cheating ass.

Oh, and Kitty halftime on the Puppy Bowl show, for sure!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Anonymous1:36 PM

Who cares? I'm a Patriots fan.

If anything remotely interesting emerges from the five-hour commercial-fest that just so happens to have a football game squeezed in, it'll be on the Internet the next day.

Hopefully, Brady's injuries will heal, Welker's injuries will heal & we'll finally get a defense that doesn't resemble a wiffle ball.

    ReplyDelete
  57. 4. Knitting/watching the kids/looking up when the commercials are on.

PS> my brother was at a party when Peyton was still at UT, and he said that he was "your typical dumb frat-boy jock." I didn't get any more information from him on the how's or why's though.

  59. Because I'm ambivalent toward both teams, whomever has the better game should win!

Count me among the folks who'll be mostly watching the commercials anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Lifelong Saints fan here.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Syd, your happiness at the Saints' success was my best consolation for the Vikings losing. :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. Sue Ellen and Ms. Cool: That's exactly how I explain it to people (used and betrayed), and yes I know I sound like a crazy, esp b/c I'm talking about someone I don't even know. But I grew up in GB..I remember his first game. I guess it was sad that he never acknowledged the fans - it was always just about him "sticking it to Ted Thompson".

And that interception he threw against the Saints? - I've been waiting for that redemption all season. I was elated for days.

    ReplyDelete
  63. SAINTS SAINTS SAINTS!!!!!

I'm also a lifelong Saints fan (Hi Syd!!) and this is the moment I've been waiting for since....well, forever.

God, I hope they win. Also, I LOVE Scott Fujita - he went to my alma mater, Cal and he is just an awesome human being from all accounts.

I am going for Saints! I thought it was a pretty well known thing that all the Mannings cheat on their wives?

    ReplyDelete
  65. Oh no, don't tell me these things about Peyton. I'm not naive about athletes, but seriously, I thought Peyton was one of the good guys.

    ReplyDelete
  66. i've been rooting for the Saints since I was like 7, so Saints it is...

    Kardashian who :D

    ReplyDelete
  67. Saints for sure.

I can at least advert my eyes and scroll fast when you post all those Kim posts.

    ReplyDelete
  68. colts, kendra's husband is not a major player, she is not that recognizable. Kardashian, do you really think CBS is going to go to her over and over? It is not like T. Cruise is in the audience. Besides, we will probably seen her not watching but texting. What I would like to see, if the Saints win, is at the end, when they go up to Reggy, and kim is waiting for that all important question. and Reggy shouts: I'm going to disneyworld and THAN flash to Kim and watch her face deflate. REGGY, YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO PROPOSE!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Geaux Saints!

But I won't be watching the game. I'm going to watch the Puppy Bowl (with Kitty Half-time show and new Rabbit Cheerleaders)!

    ReplyDelete

I want the Saints to win, but I think the Colts are a better team...I just hope its a good game. Most Super Bowl games are so boring...I love regular football season, tho...

    ReplyDelete
  76. "Is there any way to tape the commercials and NOT the Superbowl?"

That's why god created YouTube. ;)

  77. I want the Colts to win for reasons I'm too embarrassed to reveal, but will probably be watching Ghosthunters as well.

Since I wouldn't know either of those females if I fell over them, I'll go with amazonblue and cheer for those magnificent Clydesdales. Now if the Manning playing happened to be Eli, the QB of my beloved Giants, my attitude would be a lot different.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I have some really great friends in NOLA .. and so I am totally Team Saints .. though due to CBS' poor choice in commercial content .. I will NOT be watching the game. No big loss though .. I need to keep painting rooms to get this place ready to sell before foreclosure .. so I will likely listen on radio instead.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I love the Manning boys, but at least it isn't my baby Eli playing against the Saints.

I love New Orleans, I grew up outside of New Orleans, I have fallen asleep at many Saints games, and I'm rooting for the Saints.

Who dat saying they always knew the Saints would make it to the Super Bowl? They're lying. No one ever thought this would happen. This is probably a sign of the End Times.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Don't care much but I will pull for the Saints since its their first time. And I love New Orleans.

I'm all about the parties that surround the football games vs. the games themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  87. As a MIamian, anything but the superbowl. Make it go away already please.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Jersey Shore marathon on Sunday. Fistpumping to be had!

    ReplyDelete
  89. GEAUX SAINTS!! WHO DAT, BABY!!!! I was down in the Quarter earlier today - INSANITY!! Our boys in the the Bowl AND Mardi Gras? Guess who called in "sick" to work today, baby?! LOL We caught the Krewe of Cork on Bourbon. And speaking of the Clydesdale's, while I was out eating pizza earlier this evening, I got to watch the Budweiser Clydesdale's being unloaded from their massive trucks for the Excalibur/Atlas parade on Veterans in Metairie. This place usually sucks, but this is definitely the time of year to be in New Orleans!

    ReplyDelete
  90. NYEmerald - We taped the Inside the NFL show on showtime (or whatever it is called) of the Vikings/Saints game. Whenever we need a good laugh, we watch the interception and listen to the Minnesota announcer who is PISSED. Ah, good times.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Ms Cool and ny emerald:

I don't really know the Brett Favre story, I've liked Minnesota since the Dante Culpepper/ Randy Moss days, so he's just a new addition to me. Maybe one or both of you can give me the goods.

Also, on a side note, that "Geaux" Saints thing makes me :( It's really the craziness of the Geaux that kills me. IT'S NOT EVEN FRENCH!!!!!

    Sorry about that. :/

    ReplyDelete
  92. Saints In spite of the pictures

    ReplyDelete
  93. GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's about the team not Kim. Her pictures will be everywhere regardless of itf they win or not.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I, vaguely, support the Dolphins so I'm guessing the Saints because the bastard Colts beat us. That and I love New Orleans.

However, I might fall asleep whilst it's on, due to time differences.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I really don't give a shit about football, but since I live in New Orleans and my husband and son had season tickets and are losing their minds because they FINALLY got to the Superbowl, I guess I have to go with the Saints.

But I'll probably be reading. And eating. We're making plenty of game day treats.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Football season isn't over yet? Good grief. Uhmmm, obviously, I'll be baking peanut butter cookies to eat while watching the Biggest Loser marathon. Better get busy, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  97. I have a pile of dvd's to watch. But if I have to pick between Kim and Kendra, I'll go with Kendra.

    ReplyDelete
  98. None of the above. Trader Joe's and Target. Completely empty. Love Super Bowl Sunday.

Sue Ellen, the goods are dependent on the stance that one takes with Favre. As a wee one indoctrinated to be a Packer's Fan. I love the Packer's. As an adult who has watched a franchise turned around by Favre..(and Reggie White) since '92, I'm disillusioned by the anti-Favre propaganda. My sports insider told me when Ted Thompson signed on his mission was to run Favre out the door. Ted wanted it to be "his" team. Not Favre who was the clear cut image of the Packer's. Favre went in and out of retirement. He was also being poked out of the door. He signed with the Jets (and unbeknowgnst to a lot of Jets fans it was known he would be going to the Vikings after one year. The Packer's divisional rival. That is what some fans feel was a backstab. Similar to what 49'ers fans felt when Jerry Rice(the best NFL receiver ever) signed on with the Raider's. SF offered Jerry $1 million to retire. The Packer's offered Favre $21 million to retire. They didn't want him and they didn't want him playing for anyone else. He did choose to stick it to Ted Thompson. I feel he's always acknowledged his Packer Fans. I became a Jets and Vikings fan after his departure. Interesting read.
    http://www.firetedthompsonnow.com/page/2/

Favre brought fun back to the teams. Along with revenue. To date his jersey is the number one all time seller. Teams receive revenue for this. He brings money to where he goes. Good for local economy.

Aaron Rodgers is a very good quarterback and hopefully, he will take the Packer's to the Super Bow.

I like Brees & Manning. May the best man win. I'm rueing the day when a reality & playboy chick became the decision between who I would want to win the Super Bowl.

  100. Puppy Bowl was amazing!! lol

Yums was my favorite, although my son like Tator Tot.

  101. Post-game post: The lead-up was a win-win for me. My family lives an hour away from N.O. and has supported the Saints for 40+ loooong years. I've always supported the Colts since i was a horse-crazy little girl [go figure - it was a child's logic]. Plus, as an alumna of SEC schools, i support the Manning boys' teams usually when they play.

The French Quarter is wild and probably won't calm down until Ash Wednesday. The win means a LOT for the people down here.

    ReplyDelete
  102. elspeth, child logic or not. It's yours. Archie Manning as a former Saints QB and father of the Colts Qb had a lot of emotions. #1 was with his son though. The win does hold a lot of meaning for NO and it's a splendiferous thing. I was glad to see the Saints win.

Until then the next holiday (as per my husband) is Paczki Day. Which he worshipfully calls the Day of Doughnuts.

Enty, I tried emailing but kept getting and error message. This was my email:
    Dear Enty,

At one time you asked us to post our other(exception being yours) blogs. I believe I posted teaandcookies.blogspot.com. as one of mine. Don't know T but she writes lovely stuff and recently has had a book published. I bought it haven't read it yet....but based on her blog...I'll probably enjoy.

The title is The Butcher and the Vegetarian. Many of your readers (upon the wonderful recipes index, say they are vegetaraians as Tea herself is/was/whatever. She does have great vegetarian recipes. As a pseudo vegetarian with strong carnivore tendencies (doesn't make any sense), I like the way she writes about it.

She also brings up the orgasmic subject of..............BACON. Example from Basil & Spice:

We also get to experience vicariously as Tara eats various forms of meat for the first time. She considers bacon “the gateway drug,” wondering if she will be “mainlining lard” and said of barbecued bacon that it “made my head spin as if I were falling in love.

    http://www.basilandspice.com/journal/firstlook-the-butcher-and-the-vegetarian-rodale-books-feb-20.html

I don't know if the book has vegetarian recipes in it. Her blog does. She wrote a very entertaining bit on the evil spaghetti squash.

If you have a chance to bring this book up...great. If not...all is well.. Thought I'd mention it. On a completely different note, how bout posting on the slutty Frank Gifford who skanked around with Johnny's wife Joanna. Screw everyone else. That's what Frank did. Now that's a slutty manho story.

    Peace
    Mags
