Someone Is Lying - Haiti And Scientology

Do you remember when John Travolta flew his plane into Haiti to deliver supplies? At the time he flew in, he said they were bringing in four tons of supplies. That is a lot if you are going shopping for a weekend, but compared to what other planes could bring in, it wasn't that much. So, the next reports said 5 tons were brought in and last night on David Letterman John said that it was actually 7 tons. Oh, and that it was all brought in on two planes. Would one of these planes be the plane Gawker wrote about that actually had zero supplies but was full of Scientologists? Are the Scientologists counting the weight of personal luggage or their own bodies as supplies? I mean if you are a 200 pound person who can heal by touch are you also considered a medical supply?

Another thing mentioned by John last night was that he guarded the plane all night so the next morning doctors and other relief workers could come to the plane and get what they needed. It was like a store. The doctors thought it was manna. My word not his but that was the impression he wanted to give. Didn't the previous reports say the plane was immediately unloaded and John flew back? Why do these stories keep changing? How did the little kid from Haiti who just happened to wander up to the plane get a f**king yellow t-shirt? John said he wanted to take him home but of course didn't. So, where is the child now? John thinks he is back in the orphanage. So, basically it was give him a free t-shirt and pose for some pictures so I can look like I was helping and call it a day. I hate how John refers to the COS as his church. Now people will wonder what church he belongs to and it is all just a bunch of garbage.

Last night when he was on Letterman to ostensibly promote his new movie he allowed questions about his relief mission and talked about something other than his movie. In my opinion that means that any question anyone wants to ask him about Scientology during a promotional tour is a fair question. No walking off the set. No getting upset. You can't cherry pick the parts that make you look best. If you want to use a national television audience to discuss your "church" on your terms then you can't get pissed off when a reporter wants to ask questions about it. I am so disgusted right now. It starts about the 4:30 mark. If watching Travolta wasn't enough then watch the video beneath it. That is The Today Show talking about how amazing Scientologists are and how they are doing the work no one else wants to do. I'm going to be sick now. Seriously.

  1. i've decided to boycott any movie associated with CoS and it's members.
    fuck them.
    so long Grease.

  2. The thing is, I think 99.9% of the world sees through their bullshit. How that might translate into when they'll finally just shrivel up and disappear, I don't know. But eventually.

Good idea @Jax. I used to love My Name is Earl, but if it were still on I'd boycott it. What other tv shows feature Scientfucktardists?

  3. Haaaaa!

    The ball of these morons.

Their t-shirt logo has a f*cking CRUCIFIX design.

    Bleeeccchhhh.

    FUCK SCIENTOLOGY.

I have something over here they can "touch."

  4. good idea, jax.
    I second the idea.

  5. All those types of organizations call themselves a church. I guess they think it will legitimize them. Hell, even the Branch Davidians called themself a church and look how that turned out. -_-

  6. I missed Letterman last night but did see the report on the Today Show this morning. I stopped dead in my tracks - could not believe they were actually putting a positive spin on what the Scientologists were doing. The young girl starts to smile after 20 minutes of being "touched." Please. As if touching is going to cure gangarene.

  7. This disgusts me.
Exactly, Ent - how many tons of "supplies" were actually yellow Scientology shirts?!
And I'm no Christian, but it seems strange to me that a Scientologist would use the word "manna" to refer to charitable works of another "religion".
    Just UGH.

  8. The only reason why I can't call a boycott on CO$ (for myself only, obvs) is because I'm a die hard Simpsons fan. So while I generally DO avoid CO$ actors & their works, I'm a hypocrite because I could never give up my Simpsons. Does it count if I avoid everything else, though? ;)

P.S. Saturday Night Fever is one of my favourite movies of all time. Oh Johnny Boy. What happened to you :( Luckily I don't think many people take him very seriously these days (on that hair ALONE lol) but still :(

  9. @figgy - I think you are giving people too much credit. Most people don't see through what they are doing. Most people would see that news report and think "what nice people they must be". Suckers.

  10. The Today Show is a fucking joke. It really is. They're more of an entertainment show than a news show in my book. I mean, for crying out loud, Kathy Lee Gifford's horrid self is on there!Oh, and Ann Curry wants to practically kidnap Brangelina every time she interviews them--it's in her eyes.

  11. @surfer - I thought the exact same thing when I saw the Today Show this morning. How did the producers approve that segment??

It really made me angry to see them claiming that they were healing the little girl by 'touching'. Are you kidding me??? These people need serious medical attention!

  12. Jen, the producers gave Nancy Cartwright a huge smackdown when she was using Bart's voice in some Scientology promo, so I think you can still watch the show guilt-free. Just send dagger-eyes-of-death every time Bart comes on the screen. :)

  13. "it's in her eyes."

HAHAHAHAHA nice. I've only ever seen her interviews on sites like this, but you're right, she DROOLS all over Brad. Fontrum. LOL!

  14. well the Simpson's has sucked for a few seasons now,so it wouldn't be too hard.

now if you told me Seth McFarlane was a CoS, i'd be crying in the street.
just for the loss of hawt alone.

  15. Mooshki - good call, I totally will from now on. Not a huge Bart fan anyway... :P

  16. That's true, Jax - it's more my DVDs. I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT MY SIMPSONS DVDs. Have to watch them pretty much everyday, and listen to the commentary over & over, and...

    I've said too much...LOL

  18. @ ny emerald - someone's definitely been drinking the Kool Aid!

Maybe Kerry Saunders got a free plane ride back to Florida or something (he was reporting from home base a few days ago).

  19. Moriah, normally..i don't either. but this is COS and their fuckery knows no bounds.

    Cult!

  20. Hold up a minute there Sparky. Why would the planes have "tons" of medical supplies if they've all been blessed with the gift of healing by touch? What a bunch of friggin morons.
I'm very sorry for the grief John Travolta has experienced in life but his "church" is a scam. I wish he and Tom Cruise would just man up to what will happen if they leave and expose COS for what it really is.
Maybe they'd both get off my shizz list and I'd start buying tickets to their movies again.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I find the whole sordid mess incredibly distasteful and infuriating. I'd love to know who at the Today show it is that COS has over a barrel. For that kind of publicity, there has to be some COS members on the Today show staff, or at least some who are highly sympathetic to them.

    Epic Fail, Today Show.

    ReplyDelete
  22. "Quietly the SOS is helping?"

Yeah. Real quiet. They are on the flipping Today Show! What bull.

Oh.. and it frightens me that they are secretly helping.

Are other churches traveling with camera crews?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I am so glad you've mentioned the Today Show coverage. I was so shocked when that came on this AM! I sure would like to know which Scientologist has something on a Today staffer...I would be offended by such glowing coverage of any religion, but we all know too much about this group to buy what they were selling.

    ReplyDelete
  24. What's that saying-- 'Any publicity is good publicity" ? Despite being a joke, the CO$ is getting lots of exposure here, loved or hated. Any level of mention is equal to being kept relevant. I say boycott discussions of 'Those of whom we do not speak' and help them disappear where it can be helped. As for the few percent of the population who do subscribe, well, there's something to be said for natural selection...Xenu has them in his care now.

  25. @Moriah, are you kiddin me? That's the single best criterion on which to judge people! :-\

  26. Here in sunny Sweden a weekly magazine did a piece on Narcoon (CoS rehabcenter) in a very negative light. The CoS found out and the journalist got a visit from some not so nice people. The piece was pulled out of the magazine, because the editor didn't want to put people at risk. However a Swedish paper published the piece. The thing with Narcoon in Sweden is that they get subsidies from local goverment - i.e the tax payers. Just makes me sick.

    ReplyDelete
  27. People - it's a cult, NOT a religion.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anyone or any "institution" that exploits tragedies for good publicity should be boycotted on the spot, no questions asked.

On the same wavelength, those Hollywood stars organizing these "power brunches" for Haiti can shove those expensive hors d'oeuvres up their entitled asses.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Moriah, yeah, I used to try not to judge people on their religious choices, but then I got thinking about alllll the harm done in the world by various religions (never mind the cults, of which CoS is one) over the centuries. So, not so much with respecting people's religion anymore. If you're oppressing women, and failing to protect children, and persecuting anyone whose believe system is different from yours, then, sorry, no more hiding behind your religious to try to legitimize it.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I really don't buy this story... I mean, Haitians don't have a red cent... why would Scientologists be interested?

    ReplyDelete
  31. phrodo, I was wondering about that part too.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I get so riled up about this "church." Ugh. And these types of stories in the "mainstream" media make me all the more upset. Through links Enty has mentioned, and through my own perusing around the internet, I have found a lot of information that certainly showcases how awful this cult really is to their "normal," i.e. non-celebrity, members.

    http://www.exscientologykids.com/admins.html

is one site that opened my eyes - I know Enty has mentioned this in the past. I also was so interested to read the articles the St. Petersburg Times wrote (FL). Very sad indeed. I can't wrap my head around the fact that this cult is allowed to continue. Or that the mainstream media turns its head to the truth about them.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Scientology is indeed an obvious example of a cult. That website SnowCherris posted has some heavy stuff on it, especially when you consider that they are KIDS being subjected to this terrible treatment.

I think this is a reason we should remove the tax-exempt status of churches, and stop giving people like this cover for their shenanigans by showing legal deference to religions over other civil organizations.

    ReplyDelete
  34. OMG, Jax- I bet the "CoS" runs quite smoothly with residuals from 'Grease.'
And, Enty- I hope you didn't just sick Xenu on The Enty Collective....

  35. My lunch time is 2 minutes to done, so I can't watch the videos right now. But I'm with selenakyle - wtf are they doing with a cross on their back? They have NOTHING to do with Christianity.

My guess is these shirts were specially made for Haiti to dupe these poor people into thinking they were being helped by God-fearing Christians, thereby making them more open to what these idiots had to say about their brand of slavery.

I truly hope this scam is broken and arrests are made in my lifetime. I would love to see that day.

  36. To answer your questions:
The Church of Scientology has organised three flights to Haiti from New York, two from Los Angeles. The planes were donated, Scientology paid for the fuel. Travolta seperately organised two from Florida.
Pictures of Travolta's flight are here:
    http://www.bradkugler.com/Travel/Haiti-Earthquake-Aftermath/11050535_Aeftw#773356478_VWLbG
His story about 'guarding the supplies' looks to be a fantasy, the photos show lots of US soldiers and the entire VM team came out to greet him. Some VMs are on warehouse duties at the airport, so they knew where to take the stuff. Since according to the VM blog they had run out of food at their base camp, I would suppose that the 'ready meals' went to them.

  37. While critics are sitting on their fat ass "gawking" and giving stupid comments 150 scientologists are down in Haiti "doing something about it", namely feeding and caring for those in need. That's documented by mainstream media and plenty of other places like http://blog.volunteerministers.org .

  39. Whatever gets you through your brainwashed nights, Doreen. What they're actually doing is nothing more than bullshit hyping the cult and which has historical basis with the old timey snake oil salesmen who used to travel the country ripping people off with their fake "medicine". I think plenty of the people above "giving stupid comments" have probably donated plenty of money to Wyclef Jean's or some other ACTUAL Haiti charity, ACTUALLY concerned with helping the poor people over there who've lost everything. That's REALLY doing something, not something that's just a ridiculous bunch of nonsense that's meant to recruit people into a dangerous cult.
