People Magazine Gets Out Its Best Kneepads For Charlie Sheen
People Magazine is making the kneepad industry really happy. I think with this latest article they have bought the most expensive kneepads ever made. If they don't get a 20 page cover story, photos and an interview at Charlie Sheen's house after this is over, then they got too little.
In reporting on Charlie Sheen entering rehab they state that Charlie has been to rehab in the past for drugs and alcohol. Then they totally open up wide and regurgitate word for word what Charlie's publicist wants them to say about why Charlie is in rehab this time.
"A source says that this time the problem relates to the emotional fallout from the domestic violence case and his desire to avoid temptation. A relapse would be a violation of his bail terms and could send him back to jail.
"Charlie is stressed. He's tired. The kids are on his mind. Brooke's on his mind. A lot of things are on his mind. He didn't want to get a place where he had the urge to get high. He's not using and he doesn't want to. He felt like he needed to get away from negative influences around him and clear his head, rest and take a short break."
Oh, and despite reports to the contrary that Brooke has their two kids with her in some kind of family rehab center, People Magazine says that they are being well taken care of by Charlie's parents and that Brooke's parents are flying out to help also. Plus they can probably pick up a few extra bucks by selling Martin Sheen stories to the tabloids.
The reason Charlie is in rehab is because he is hooked on booze and coke again. Period. End of story. Just because you have the opportunity to get some kind of life back together, happy family on a couch photo for your cover doesn't mean you should hide what the truth is. If you want him on the cover so bad throw a picture of him up there with the headline COKE SHOCKER! CHARLIE TO REHAB! BROOKE TO REHAB! KIDS TO REHAB! That will sell some issues and it is all true.
Ent is probably right about this, however, it's not such a bad idea if you're a former addict(who's still an addict really) to go back into rehab as a preventative measure if you feel yourself slipping. I can respect that.
ReplyDeleteI hope both Charlie and Brooke stay clean.
ReplyDeleteI just always feel so bad for children in these scenarios. Hopefully, these two "parents" are getting it together for them.
and hopefully , they were clean during the pregnancy
ReplyDeleteNOW my only question is
ReplyDeletewill they FINALLY kick 2 and a half off the air? pretty please?
I just really don't understand why this guy decides to get married. He always ends up with less money and pissed and messed up. I remember reading a blind item which was clearly about brooke and charlie shortly before they got married about how his friends were warning him not to marry brooke because she was a golddigger.
ReplyDeletei feel terrible for these kids having to call these people their parents. i just don't have much sympathy for these sort of situations when kids are involved. my parents should've never been parents being the narcissists/alcoholics they were and my siblings and i have had to pay dearly for it. get help for your kids not for your public image, assholes.
Word, palealebrew10.
ReplyDeleteI don't claim to know much about addictions (other than shoe shopping and gossip blogs) and I do feel very badly for people who have to go through it and get help. But I would hope that having two beautiful children in your life would really inspire you to get clean and stay clean, because well, it's not all about YOU anymore. Furthermore, it really boggles my brain that I am a totally healthy 33-year-old happily married woman who has not been able to get knocked up yet after years of trying, and these drugged out husbands and wives do, and then don't even have the decency to take care of their kids because of all of their personal drama. Just hire some nannies. Yay!
I can't find the article but it was on the internet within the past 12 hours someone posted that Charlie was in rehab for coke and booze and that Brooke was in rehab for crack. There were even comments from posters stating they weren't surprised because Charlie always has a beer in his hand while filming 2.5 Men.
ReplyDeleteNow that info. has been removed.
Update from TMZ:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.tmz.com/2010/02/24/charlie-sheen-two-and-a-half-men-missing-cbs-rehab-chuck-lorre/
I suppose CBS could kick Charlie off and then they could have one and a half men, but it would still suck, lol.
ReplyDeleteRadarOnline has the story about Charlie relapsing. And, yes, recovering addicts have been known to enter rehab to maintain sobriety, but in this case, there have been rumors for quite awhile now that he relapsed. So what? On one hand, there is no shame in admitting he slipped (his contract with CBS notwithstanding); on the other hand, when his PR rep says crap like this, it makes me glad I don't like Sheen or his pathetic show.
ReplyDeletei think the only reason she went in to rehab was so that when the court case came up her testimony would be less believable if she was drunk out of her skull.
ReplyDeletethey both suck.
thanks megley I believe Yahoo posted the radar article.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think you could be admitted into rehab unless you were actively using. . . .
ReplyDeletePlease. Everyone knows they are both addicts and no longer recovering. Those poor kids got some wicked genes to deal with.
oh and can i say how HAPPY i am charlie's contract is up and should be in negotiations right now??? LOL.
ReplyDeletehate him and that misogynist show.
The children are "being taken care of by Charlie's parents"? Try "the children are in the protective custody of Charlie's parents".
ReplyDeleteAs an addict I can say that it is very easy to relapse. There are certain things that trigger an addict to use again and if you don't have a very solid foundation in recovery that leads to a relapse. The important thing is that if you do relapse do not let it get the best of you and admit your helpless and get the help you need.
ReplyDeleteAlso I know a lot of people who have a lot of recovery time and don't go to a lot of meetings after a long time, and then something happens and while they haven't used they get themselves back into meetings, their support group, re-working their steps to keep themselves clean.
All I know is that you can't have a wife that's actively using drugs and alcohol and not be using yourself if you're an addict. Damn near impossible. Enty's right.
ReplyDeletei don't understand the lengths they've gone to with both brooke AND charlie. she's in rehab. oh wait---she's not in rehab at all. she has a lung infection and she's recovering at a spa. ok, NOW she's in rehab. but now she's in a 'private home' rehab where kids and nannies are allowed. HUH????
ReplyDeletethen charlie. he's not using. no, he's just afraid he MIGHT use. he's stressed. he would've used 'lung infection' but brooke already stole that one.
why not just fucking say these people are getting treated for substance abuse? don't they realize we all know that anyway?
"People Magazine is making the kneepad industry really happy."
ReplyDelete^teehee!
Preventative measure my ass. He was drinking the night of the incident with Brooke. And I don't believe a single word he's said about his "stolen" car. It's just sad these two train wrecks have two little babies.
ReplyDeleteI loathe him so I'm not even going to comment on it except to say Amen to what Enty said.
ReplyDeleteHowever, will someone please tell me what the "KneePads" means in reference to People Magazine? I feel REALLY STUPID asking so please don't crucify me. I didn't know what a Dirty Sanchez was either...
LOL, tell us how you really feel, Enty.
ReplyDelete'2 1/2 Men' is a cash cow. He could've been caught on film doing coke off a stripper's ass and they'd still beg him not to leave the show.
If Kneepads really wants to sell mags they have to splash Howard Stern's ugly mug on the front cover(in HD!)screaming,'Can Howard Stern save American Idol?!'
ReplyDeleteAnd I wish them luck trying to fabricate THAT interview.
@MCH:
ReplyDeleteAs I understand it, the "kneepads" reference to People magazine is that they (their "reporters", "journalists", "writers") get down on their knees and please the publicists of these people by printing whatever they are told to print, thereby ensuring they get pictures and "exclusives" that are also completely scripted and controlled by the aforementioned PR folks. They do this so often and so consistently, the reference is they need some kind of protective foam so their knees don't get sore!
Of course, if I've deciphered this completely incorrectly, I'm sure someone will help us both to the right answer!!! :)
I'm going to steal my friend's FB status update on this: "They tried to make me go to prehab, but I said no no no"
ReplyDelete@K - Thanks for answering :)
