Brittany Murphy Has No Illegal Drugs In Her Body
The Los Angeles Coroner released the full autopsy report on Brittany Murphy yesterday. Although Brittany had a bunch of drugs in her system, none of them were illegal although some of them did not match any of the prescriptions she had or any of the drugs found in the house. The cause of death remains the same. Community acquired pneumonia, iron deficiency anemia, multiple drug intoxication and an accidental drug overdose. Very preventable if she didn't have a good for nothing loser husband who decided to sleep through her dying in the bathroom.
Anyway, the full list of drugs in her body is the following: In her stomach was Propranolol, Hydrocodone, Phenazopyridine, Fluoxetine, Dextromethorphan, Chlorpheniramine, in her urine and in her blood/heart methamphetamines were found.
Now, the drugs found in her bedroom were the following: Klonopin(anxiety med), Carbamazepine (treats Diabetic symptoms and is also a bipolar med), Ativan (anxiety med), Vicoprofen (pain reliever), Hydrocodone (pain med) , Topamax (anti-seizure med also to prevent migraines), Propranolol (hypertension, used to prevent heart attacks), Biaxin (antibiotic), Methylprednisolone (anti-inflammatory), Fluoxetine (depression med) and miscellaneous vitamins.
She took a bunch of medicine. Crazy amounts of medicine. The autopsy also said that she wasn't too skinny. Was Brittany a little crazy? Absolutely. But, as I have said before I thought she was a pretty damn good actress and if she had not got involved with that Simon guy, I say she would still be alive.
7 different medicines in her body? Holy shit, that's insane and sad :(
ReplyDeleteShe looks so tired, hungry and iron deficient in that photo. Dark circles around her eyes. Such a loss.
ReplyDeleteok..I don't mean ANY disrespect by this question, and my medical knowledge is quite minimal, but is it possible that Brittany had aids...just something seems so off.
ReplyDeleteEither way, RIP Ms. Murphy, you're missed and I hope you're in a much better place.
I'm not a doctor, only a medical secretary, so I can't claim to be a medical expert, but that seems like a very large amount of narcotics for a fairly young, slim woman. Even if she had rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis, don't most doctors try to use NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) before narcotics? And to top that off with TWO anti-anxiety drugs. Something seems off.
ReplyDeleteAlso...if she's iron deficient, why wouldn't her doctor prescribe iron pills?
ReplyDeleteIron deficiency anemia can contribute to death? That's news to me. I know it can make you weak, but dead?
ReplyDeleteHoly effing crap.
ReplyDeleteWe were right, just didn't have the deets correct.
She WAS whacked out on drugs, unfortunately the kind of drugs that killed Heath Ledger.
I say legalize pot and let Big Pharma go straight to hell.
Good Lord what is the country coming to?
I agree that she was easily influenced by others BUT she had to be the person to take the pills unless she was forced too. I think they should make it illegal if you are taking Rx drugs that wasn't prescribed to you. This list of drugs is crazy! I'm sure there were more in the house but the only Rx's I had was percocet and 800 mg ibuprofen. RIP, Brittany.
ReplyDelete... WHAT ABOUT THE BENZOS FOUND IN Her Blood THAT WERE NOT PRESCRIBED TO Her? Benzos and LOTS OF IT.
ReplyDelete... *that "full autopsy report" is a FARCE*... *el FATTY Coronero aka Ed Winters is* CORRUPT and PLAYING *pocket polo* "Em" *SKUM-jack's* "pocket". There are THINGS NOT BEING m"Em"tioned in *it*. BTW... Britt was EVEN MORE "Em"ACIATED at the Time of Her Death than She is "Em" that pic almost three weeks EARLIER. Get over IT- She was an ADDICT w/ ANOREXIA and 'WAS' NEGLECTED by Her OWN "Mommy Dearest" Sharon AND Her *'GROOM'some/FAKE BLACK WIDOWer SKUMmy "husband"*...
... and YES it's POSSIBLE that She HAD *AIDS*. I SUGGESTED THAT *possibility* MONTHS AGO over @ imdb. *IT* would MAKE "sense" especially if "Himmmmm" was *correct* "Em" saying Britt "mainlined a speedball with two grotesque drug-addled hoodrats at the Chateau Marmont before they gangbanged [Her]" "Em" October of 2004. Perhaps She "caught" HIV from *them*... She went to REHAB or She weaned HerSelf off *Horse* by using Rx OPIATES... but *the HIV r"Em"ained*...
is it possible that Brittany had aids...just something seems so off.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know the law about revealing that a deceased person has AIDS or HIV? I read somewhere that it's illegal to out someone with the disease, but what if they are deceased and it's part of their autopsy report?
"in her urine and in her blood/heart methamphetamines were found."
ReplyDeleteLast time I checked, meth was an illegal drug...
And hydrocodone is certainly a controlled substance.
Phazopyridine is a pain reliever specifically for urinary tract infections and is an OTC medicine (Azo).
Fluoxetine is Prozac.
DXM is the active ingredient in robitussin, also an OTC medicine.
Chlorpheniramine is just chlor-trimeton, an OTC allergy medicine. Addicts do often use anti-histimines to strengthen the effects of opiates (the hydrocodone)
So, 3 of the meds in her system were just over the counter meds. It sounds like she was feeling really sick.
But I want to know what is up with the METH?
She wasnt too skinny? I would have bet she was seriously underweight, but I guess I have a morphed sense of whats too skinny!
ReplyDeleteAlso, really this doesn't seem too wacky if you think about it:
ReplyDeleteThe propranolol and Fluoxetine would be daily maintenance medications. Nothing unusual there.
DXM is a cough medication, if she had pneumonia, this would not be unusual to take.
Maybe the DXM didn't work on her cough. If her doctor prescribed her Tussionex for her pneumonic cough, that contains hydrocodone and chlorphenirmine. So maybe she took that after the DXM didn't work.
And if she had a UTI on top of it, that explains the Azo.
What I have outlined would not be an unusual scenario or something a "drug addict" would do. Just someone who is sick and looking for relief.
But the meth, there is no explanation for that!
Ent - change the meth part, please, it is incorrect. They found L-methamphetamine, which is in over the counter inhalers like Vicks. BIG DIFFERENCE!
ReplyDeleteI'm convinced, Brittany Murphy wasn't a drug addict at all. She needed medical care, though. Why wasn't she taken to a doctor?
Or would the "meth" have been something the EMT's used to try to revive her?
ReplyDeleteYou know, this reminds me of when Alka-Seltzer Cold Plus had to take the "PPA" (phenylpropanolamine?) out of their formula.
ReplyDeleteOn that day the stuff quit working. PPA was found to give women strokes.
But man, that stuff would knock a cold right OUT of you. It was the best. Then poof--no effect.
So these pharmaceuticals really help but when three Doctors prescribing multiple things each means God only knows WHAT combos people have in them.
People who trust those Doctors.
@a - Thank You. It's a huge misrepresentation. I've tested positive for amphetamines for taking Tylenol Cold.. Big difference...
ReplyDeleteIt's just really unfortunate. I agree with Enty. I loved her, and I thought she was a great Actress. Too bad she got in with the creepy dude...
@selenakyle - Hell Yes!! I would love to see Pot legalized. It's much safer then alcohol...What is wrong with people?
ReplyDeleteas much as i'd love to see pot legalized, let's not act like it would be a deterrent to other drugs if readily available. most people who do meds aren't interested in weed.
ReplyDeleteBiaxin is used to treat pneumonia so why wouldn't she use it to treat her pneumonia? That's the one I'm really confused about.
ReplyDeleteBy her meds, she was being treated for bronchitis (Biaxin, methylprednisolone and probably Tussionex given the chlorpheniramine). She had resistant migraines as she was on propranolol(yes, its a blood pressure pill but its also used in migraine prophylaxis), Topamax and Tegretol. Unfortunately, Tegretol and fluoxetine together can raise the levels of tegretol because both are metabolized through a specific pathway in the liver. Tegretol can cause heart failure, arrhythmias, low blood pressure, dizziness among other things.
ReplyDeleteIt was a bad accident. If someone had heard her fall in the shower, she might still be with us.
Aw crap. Classalpha's back.
ReplyDeletePoor Brittany. I liked her. I don't understand why people take medicine without being cautious.
Jax - that's not true. I am a recreational drug user and am totally ok taking meds and/or smoking weed. Although, ironically, I'm much more careful with the meds than I am with the illegal stuff. That stuff big pharma manufactures is dangerous sh*t.
ReplyDeleteHaaa, Ms. Cool! Funny.
ReplyDeleteBrit was THROWN into the shower by Simon. She collapsed on the bathroom floor.
ReplyDeleteSimon surely had lots of experience using the shower to bring non responsive subjects back to the real world, too bad it didn't work with Brit.
What a loser he is.
Topamax is also used to treat bi-polar disorder. Fluoxetine is generic for Prozac, so it sounds as though she could have been treated for that. Klonopin might also have been given for anxiety. So, it looks as though there could be a reason for those three drugs.
ReplyDeleteHowever, why would she need BOTH Klonopin and Ativan? That seems kind of odd. Especially WITH hydrocodone. That's an accident waiting to happen since they are all sedating medications.
I don't know much about Propranolol, but several people I know who are bipolar also have high-blood pressure and take meds for it. Dunno if it goes along with it or not...
That list of drugs is just unbelievable...
ReplyDeleteWhy wasn't more done? Its just so sad and seemingly SO preventable.
legal or not, she was full of DRUGS. drugs are drugs.
ReplyDeletewhat i'd like to know is the story on how there were 11 pills left out of 120 vicodin she just got filled 11 days before her death. that's a SHITLOAD of vicodin to take in 11 days.
and they can't locate the mythical 'dr. cohen' who prescribed them. very, very fishy.
I read online (maybe UK mail) that she was paranoid and her husband would encourage her to feel that people in Hollywood were out to get her. Actually, I think I read this in People magazine!
