Perhaps Hollywood was feeling a little extra patriotic at the 16th Annual SAG Awards this past weekend. The dominant colors on the carpet were what else, RED, WHITE, and BLUE!!! We also saw a lot of shimmer, beading and sequins on some of our favorite fashion darlings. Here’s a look at my best dressed and the fashionably challenged women and men of the night.
BEST DRESSED WOMEN:
Kate Hudson wears a remarkable white Emilio Pucci backless gown. Can we say S E X!?
Drew Barrymore-turned-risk-taker titillates fashion junkies in this navy, two-tiered Monique Lhuillier gown.Sofia Vergara wows the crowd in two-toned red, curve-hugging, Carolina Hererra.
Michelle Monaghan is stunning in this beaded gown from Calvin Klein Collection. Guys, this dress was even more beautiful in person, if that’s possible.
Edie Falco rocks out in burgundy, Bottega Veneta. There’s something very sophisticated yet edgy about this look. PS- I’m LOVING Edie’s hair lately!BEST DRESSED MEN:
Tom Ford in Tom Ford and Colin Firth wears Tom Ford. (Need I say more?) Tom and Colin were my highlight interviews of the night. Such gorgeous and kind men!
WORST DRESSED WOMEN:
Anna Paquin gets it wrong again in this printed Alexander McQueen frock. I don’t mind the dress, I mind the dress at the SAGS. Inappropriate.
Meryl Streep in Balenciaga. Although Meryl can do no wrong on the big screen, sometimes she has a misstep on the red-carpet. I’m just not a fan of the pattern on this dress. It’s too much.
WORST DRESSED MEN:
Jeremy Renner should have left his “Blue Velvet” for Dennis Hopper. (note from Enty: He is wearing velvet!!!)
Justin Timberlake wears Dolce Gabbana. For a man who always nails it with style, this is a no-go for me.
good choice!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I ♥ Anna Paquin's dress, but what do I know about fashion? I just think it looks great on her and fits her well, though I'm not very fond of prints, of any kind....
ReplyDeleteI want Kate Hudson's dress!!!
ReplyDeleteI"m beginning to wonder if Kate Hudson and Adrianna Costa are friends.
ReplyDeleteI actually really like Meryl's dress - on her. No one else could pull it off! Colin Firth looks great too. I thought Michelle and Drew's dresses were awful though
ReplyDeleteI DISAGREE. why do people prefer the same old awards show gowns. i like the creativity of the balenciaga on meryl and the mcqueen on paquin. FASHION IS ABOUT BREAKING RULES, NOT FOLLOWING THEM.
ReplyDeleteAdjy, I love you, you are my bff... however, I HATED Michelle Monaghan's dress! The material and colors were pretty, but the cut on top was so awful, it made the whole damn thing U G L Y! I don't mind an "a-symetrical" one arm thing, but this was actually two sleeves but one long and one tank?! Then it covers all of her next and chest?! Sooooo, unflattering!
ReplyDeleteOh, and Adrianna and Kate Hudson are not friends, but she'd probably trade me in for her.
My sentiments exactly Rocket Queen!
ReplyDelete(note from Enty: He is wearing velvet!!!)
ReplyDeleteFucky love you for that, Enty.
And that's all I got to say about that.
Kate Hudson has the worst case of bitchface I've ever seen. Even when she smiles, she has such an arrogant, snotty look.
ReplyDeleteAnna Paquin is awesome for taking a risk and not caring she's gonna get ripped to shreds for it. She's a million times more intresting than the aforementioned Kate Hudson, who always plays it safe.
