John Barrowman Heads To Wisteria Lane

Oh, I know I will hate myself for weeks after I do it, but there really is no choice. I am going to have to watch the last six episodes of Desperate Housewives this season. Ugggh. I can already feel the pain. Why am I putting myself through this misery? Because John freakin' Barrowman is going to be in a six episode arc on the show playing the bad guy. Oh, please, oh please let him kill of f Eva Longoria's character. I will go wash Marc Cherry's (the creator of the show) car in a Speedo all summer long if he makes that happen.

While John is here he will be meeting with Russell Davies who is the guy writing the US version of Torchwood.

  2. Hey Enty you lay off Gaby. She's one of the few highlights of that show which has jumped the shark.

Okay now who is this person? I don't know him. I'll have to do some research on IMDB.

  3. But I don't wanna watch Desperate Housewives. Why must I have to choose between a show I don't like and seeing if Barrowman is capable of playing a bad guy? *whines*

  7. Honestly, I'd rather he kill of Hatcher's character over Longoria's.

  8. Wooo it's always worth watching John Barrowman!

For those who don't know, John is the lead in Torchwood, an adult Doctor Who spin-off. His character is omni-sexual which means he will screw anything - including aliens. Lots of man-on-man kissing.

In RL John is also a star of stage musicals and is happily married to his LT man. He's very extrovert and great on chat shows - look out for him.

  9. I've only seen a couple of episodes over the years, when it first came out and recently. Can anyone tell me how much time has passed on the show? It seems like they should be in their 50s by now.

I watch DHW and it's too bad that Nicolette's character was killed off.

I love Torchwood!!! I am sure Barrowman will make a great bad guy. Looking forward to seeing him.

  13. Mmmmm - John Barrowman *drool*

Now, if they can get David Tennant to join him, I'm all over it.

  14. What network has Torchwood?

I never thought I'd miss Edie, but I do. The show hasn't been the same without her. They need to give more storyline to the Gay guys, because these ladies are way too boring now.

  16. @not on my dollar:
John Barrowman is "Captain Jack" of "Torchwood" fame.
His story line began in "Doctor Who", with a number of appearances in various storylines until they spun off "Torchwood" a few years later.
The BBC ended that series, and rumor has it that FOX is going to pick it up. (And probably destroy the legend entirely)
And if you can't tell, I'm a serious fan of all three - "Dr. Who", "Torchwood", and John Barrowman.
But even he's not enough to make me watch DHW. There are limits to what I will do, and that's something that just ain't gonna happen.

  17. I'm glad he's meeting with Russell Davies, because Torchwood needs to be about twelve times longer than last series.

  18. And also is reputed to be packing some major meat!

  19. Damn Desperate Houswives for always bringing on these stellar (and HOT!!!) guest stars! I keep escaping and it keeps dragging me back in! Fillion, Kyle MacLachlan, Dougray Scott, Gale Harold... It ain't right!

  21. @not on my dollar -
You should start with the Who episodes that introduced him.
Torchwood kind of started with the premise that anyone watching knew the backstory, and it wasn't until season 2 that more of the character's backstory was shown.
All that aside, Torchwood was a fabulous series that emphasized character development and interaction.
Thankfully it's all available on DVD.
You're going to want to get all of them, believe me.

  24. Ok, I just put Torchwood at the top of my queue. You guys have me intrigued.

I watch Desperate still (I have from the beginning and it hasn't pissed me off enough to leave).

  25. I have never watched an episode of DH, but I too will have to watch.

  26. LOVE JOHN BARROWMAN! I miss Captain Jack so much - although I'm not sure I can sit through DH (it was a struggle to watch one episode for Gale Harold lol). He's got a really good voice, too, so check out his CD's.

Torchwood is great (although "season 3" left much to be desired). Fingers crossed that we get more of it (and not totally screwed up).

  27. You can watch all 3 seasons of Torchwood using the Netflix "Watch Instantly" feature -- no need to wait for a dvd to arrive.

I watched Gale Harold on DH last year and didn't lose my mind, so I guess I can watch 6 episodes in order to see Barrowman. John is campy and over-the-top, but absolutely adorable.
