I always admit it when someone does something right or well even if I don't generally like them. Last night Jennifer Lopez with a big assist from George Lopez's writers did a good job at the beginning of The George Lopez show. She presented the monologue and was funny and had some pretty good timing. I was actually impressed. See, I can say nice things about her. Actually I can always say nice things about her I just need to be referring to her in Selena. After that it pretty much went downhill for her. Yes, I am saying it is ok to waste 6 minutes of your life watching the clip.
I'm sorry, but her comment about how she was "..a bigger star with the same last name" as George perfectly encapsulates why I hate this woman now. Her arrogance cannot be contained.
ReplyDeleteI thought J.Lo. was funny when she guest starred on Will & Grace. Same with Madonna surprisingly.
ReplyDeleteJennifer is better at comedy, but since she's waiting on that Oscar I guess she has to stick with the dramatic roles.
ditto, rocketqueen.
ReplyDeleteI had the same feeling, Rocketqueen. She needs to layoff the plastic surgery - she is starting to look like a fish.
ReplyDeleteShe is going to wait a looooooooooong time for that Oscar.
ReplyDeleteI just wish she would stop trying to be ghetto. It just comes off as really fake. I also don't think she wrote a single word of that so the joke about being a bigger star, well, it didn't come from her. She still loved saying it a little bit too much though *L*
ReplyDeleteI liked 'Selena,' but 'Out of Sight' was the highlight of her career.
ReplyDeleteOMG she was actually GOOD, alright now!
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I would never waste one minute of my time willingly watching J Lo.
ReplyDeleteI made it to 2 minutes. That's all I could take. The walking-in-circles-around-the-stage thing made me dizzy.
ReplyDeleteWow. She wasn't bad at all!
ReplyDeleteI really liked her in The Wedding Planner...but got really annoyed when the credits rolled and it was "My Love Don't Cost A Thing." Ugh.
Well, I spend a lot of time with gay Hispanic guys, so I am afraid to speak out against JLo. I'd be killed! But she was good in this, and when she successfully pours on the charm (she was great at the White House dinner a few months back, too), she's quite charming. And beautiful. Usually she comes across as too calculating and cold, but hey, who am I to judge?

ReplyDeletei liked it!
ReplyDeleteThat was actually surprisingly adorable.
ReplyDeleteI don't really want to say anything nice about her either but I will give her credit for one thing.
ReplyDeleteLast year when the Miami Dolphins changed ownership, the new owner brought in a bunch of celebrity minority owners {"minority" in that they own a small piece of the team} -- Emilio and Gloria Estefan, Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, Serena and Venus Williams, Jimmy Buffett, maybe some more.
Unlike the others, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony were at every game. They'd put her up on the stadium screen occasionally but she didn't make a big deal of it, just waved to the camera.
I know they have a place in Miami but so do the others {the Estefans live here full time} but they were the only ones who didn't miss a game. Credit where credit is due.
Hmmm...that really didn't hurt as much as I thought it would.
I thought she had a cute nervous laugh. It is not easy to get up in front of a crowd and tell jokes.
