Oh, and a word on hairy chests. If you have so much hair on your chest that it looks like a sweatere, that's a problem. But the way these men have these perfectly waxed chests these days is GROSS. Give me a real man anytime.
I've always loved Tom S - even if he is older than my dad (awkward moment for me - over it now!). Still looks great. One of my favorite Tom movie moments was in In & Out when he grabbed Kevin Kline and planted a big one on him in the middle of the road.
A friend met him once about 15 years ago. She said that, in person, his charisma and presence were almost overwhelming. She never thought much of his looks before then (not her type) but after meeting him she said he was the most handsome man she ever met.
The man is like a fine wine he just gets better with time. I use to LOVE Magnum P.I.! He had the best legs on TV and a really fine a--. Happy Birthday Mr Selleck. You have been a pleasure to watch.
Happy Birthday, Tom Sellect. People, Tom has to be the nicest man in Hollywood. He used to go to every single one of his son's volleyball games at Pali in the late 80s, and he was so incredibly nice and gracious and unassuming - EVERYONE loved him. He is an incredible family man and all-around gentleman. He is the coolest of the cool. Seriously, he was great in Magnum and everything else he ever did, and he is actually a gazillion times better, kinder, more charismatic, intriguing in person. Such a rarity amongst all the other famous parents in the area ...
My first crush ever was on Tom Selleck as Magnum P.I. When the dvds of the show were released I got the first season for Christmas. That show holds up well compared to others of the era (Simon & Simon, I'm looking at you), and Tom Selleck is still magnificent to behold.
Tom Selleck ages like fine wine, and it's wonderful to know that it's partly because his inner character is so strong and good. And LOL at the people who are saying he's older than their fathers -- my dad would've been older than Selleck were he still living, though only by a few months. Anyway, Selleck = awesome.
Oh how I love him!
ReplyDeleteEnty, you crack me up. Seriously, you pick the best guys for the happy birthdays.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I feel like his overt masculinity blinds me.
ReplyDeleteStill a studmuffin.
ReplyDeleteDAMN - older than my father, and I would not be remotely creeped out to hit that.
ReplyDeleteHis voice melts me! ~sigh~
ReplyDeleteHe sure is easy on the eyes....
ReplyDeleteThank you Enty, thank you
We need more manly men in Hollywood like Mr. Selleck.
ReplyDeleteSigh......I love Tom Selleck.
ReplyDeleteHunky. YUM.
ReplyDeletehot damn! get me a glass of orange juice!
ReplyDeleteWow - the epitome of "Hunk". Also, you wouldn't catch a hairy chest like that on any current stars. I'd LOVE to run my fingers through it!
ReplyDeleteI like what Treesap said. And may I call you Sap?
ReplyDeleteTom Selleck is FOYNE...

ReplyDeleteOh, and the comments about hairy chests reminds me of Jon Bon Jovi (drool!) referring to his chest as a "shag carpet"...
ReplyDeleteah, this is when men were men and proud of it. they didn't wax and tweeze themselves, and spend more time on their hair than i do.
ReplyDeleteHis moustache is so iconic. He looses so much when he's clean shaven.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Tom.
He is STILL hot! He was good back then and just got better with age. There are very few men you can say that about.
ReplyDeleteI can do without *quite* as much of the pecs-area hair, but that goody trail is freakin' AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteOMG!! I will always love Tom Selleck. He was hilarious and touching as Magnum! the best show!

ReplyDeleteWhat an all natural REAL MAN! No waxing, no botox, no plugs.
ReplyDeletei had a magnum p.i. tee shirt when i was 6. it was awesome. it had a a fancy red sportscar,a hot moustache AND a gun on a frickin pink cotton tee.
ReplyDeleteMmmm, no bad photos for that guy. He is a sexy mofo.
ReplyDeleteI love the fact that they couldn't ever film 'Magnum PI' in the rain because he didn't fit in the ferarri with the top down.
ReplyDeleteMy aunt used to have a pic of him taped to her fridge and that always made me giggle.
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of the 'stache but he certainly can pull it off.
He may look fantastic; too bad he's a complete ass.
ReplyDeletehow so?

ReplyDeleteYeah, I'd hit that.
ReplyDeleteWow. I completely forgot what men looked like with body hair until I saw these photos.
ReplyDeleteHe was such a stud missile in the 80s. Beautiful man.
