Blind Items Revealed

Thursday, August 27, 2009

This Academy Award winner/nominee actress who does a mix of television and movies has a best friend who recently got married. Her friend is a special education teacher for a school which does not pay their employees very much. The friend married a man who is also a teacher at the school. The original plan was for the couple to just get married at their home and have a very tiny reception and not even a honeymoon as they are trying to save whatever dollars they earn for a home. Well, our actress gave them and paid for the wedding of a lifetime as well as a reception, the honeymoon and even gave them $50K towards their house.

I'm thinking the teacher couple has to be a young couple, and maybe young enough to only recently start an education career within the last few years, but not in the business long enough to purchase a home, separately or otherwise.

That said, the actress might have to be young too. I'm going with Anna Paquin...Oscar winner for the Piano/doing True Blood now.

  7. I need more rich friends *L*

  8. For someone who seems to only work sporadically and not as a headlining name, Anna seems to have a lot of disposable income.

Good for her; this must be one very tight friendship. That must have been one hell of a thank you note to write.

  9. I really hope this story is true and not a PR plant.

I'm glad Anna is having so much success and finding her future husband on True Blood. It is nice to see a child actor mature into a normal adult actor with real talent. Even though I still do not like her gap teeth.

  14. chihauhuense, thanks for tracking all the winners. It's nice to give people credit for being so clever. I used to just come for the blind at the end of the day and of course became hooked on all of it. The blind guesses are still my favorite part of the blog. Yeah to our winners!!!

  16. No prob! I think I will have to step away soon, though, so feel free, anyone to jump in and give them their credit :) And it is amazing how many of these blinds we get....which makes me think that we were probably totally on track when it came to coke mom and MV!!!

  23. aw..........
that is so sweet! i hope her and bill will live happily ever after. (yeah i love the show, so what?)

  24. How sweet that she is so kind and giving...so nice to see two teachers benefit from such generosity.

  25. I love her too. She has that natural charisma, even in The Piano, when she was really little, you couldn't take your eyes off her.

I think AP seems to have 'disposable income' because she seems to have a normal down-to-earth lifestyle. She's not blowing cash renting Ferraris and showing off. She could have entered that whole scene, just like LL, but it appears our Anna may have been raised right.

  26. ITA MacVixen. I hardly ever play the lottery, but one of the fantasies is always how much each beloved friend and relative would get.
Knowing my dad could retire w/out having to worry about money would be priceless.

  27. Awww....i love her.

  28. @Libby she seemed like she had good parents who didn't raid her income as a child star. Like a Corey Feldman or Gary Coleman's did.

I once heard an interview with Corey Feldman moaning how his dad ripped him off to his last dime. To be fair it was also his wasting money on drugs.

He had wised he had parents like Rick Schroeder, they invested all his money in Taco Bells and when he was 18 he would never have to work again. Which he only does becuase he wants to.

Good parenting makes all the difference in the world.

  29. It's her best friend. If I could do that for my best friend, I would. I think the fact that she actually did is very special. That is what friendship is about.

    ReplyDelete
  30. That is very cool. Even if it is her best friend, there are many people who still wouldn't put out that kind of money.

  31. Her acceptance speech for 'The Piano' was so freaking cute, I'm glad she escaped the child star curse.

  32. OOOOOH! Finally got my daughter to bed and now I can read these!!

Just wanted to put in that I have a friend who lives in Puerto Rico who met Anna Paquin in person recently (at a hotel gym). Apparently she was lovely and willing to be in a photo with my friend (I've seen the pic) even though she was all sweaty from her workout. Sounds like a lovely person.

  33. we've always said if we won the lotto we'd take care of the 'rents, the kids, make a sizable donation to the the local bunny rescue (duh) and then maybe get out from under this place.
god bless this young woman. wish i had the $$ to do the same NOW.

  34. From reports AP is supposed to be smart, kind and blessedly NORMAL. Gotta love that in the land of freaks and tweaks.

    I read this on IMDB:

When on a talk show, the host told her he would give her $10,000 if she could shoot a basketball into a hoop. She did, but he refused to pay. After bad press he gave her the money which she donated to charity.

The cheap-ass dirtbag talk show host (who could have written a personal check for 10k without blinking) is allegedly David Letterman.
