# 3 - Kindness - This C list movie and television actress has a movie world record all to herself. She is also married to an Oscar nominee/winner writer. Anyway, our actress, who has children was at her children's doctor when she started talking to a woman who had three kids of her own, one of which had bone cancer. The woman didn't have insurance and was having a tough time paying the doctor bills. Long story short. Our actress hosted a fundraiser with her husband and raised $100,000 to pay for all the medical bills for the child and to give the family a much needed vacation.
Rachel Roberts
Awwwwwwwww
ReplyDeleteI'm saddened that I do not know who she is.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome. The world needs more people like this.
ReplyDeleteI had to look her up, here's the IMDb link for anyone else.
ReplyDeleteThat was a pretty awesome thing to do.
I was hpping this would be revealed. Great thing to do.
ReplyDeleteI'm unfamiliar with her, too, but I salute her for her generosity and heart.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the world record, btw?
ReplyDeleteThis one makes me warm and fuzzy inside. What a wonderful couple.
ReplyDeleteLike others, I also have no clue who she is, but I'm going to look her up now, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteFinally, a chance to see that there are some people out in Hollywood who are generous with their blessings and kind at heart.

ReplyDeleteIf it is the same Rachel Roberts I had to IMDB (above), then her mother died of breast cancer, so she must be sympathetic to say the least.
Very nice to read the kindness reveals after all the Ashlee Sunshine Simpson et al rot.
I don't know who she is either but I am going to look her up and make a point to see her next movie. This is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteAh, I remember 'Simone' now. Thanks for the link DNfromMN!
ReplyDeleteSo - is this super-old? Rachel Roberts died in 1980 acoording to IMDB.
ReplyDeleteShe has my respect.
ReplyDeleteRecord - would that be not being credited for S1m0ne, do you think?
ReplyDeleteMy fault - I had the wrong Rachel Roberts.
ReplyDeleteholds the record for most screen-time given to an uncredited actress (for Simone)
ReplyDeleteGreat blind....love the reveals on a freezing NY day....starting my first glass of wine...Happy NY to everyone!
ReplyDelete@Carrie, yes, the record is for most screen time in a movie in an uncredited role...
ReplyDeleteKingrey: "Her role in S1m0ne (2002) was the most screen time ever given to an uncredited role."
ReplyDeleteI vaguely rememger this movie, they markted like Simone was a computer generated image that it wasn't a real person. They tried to keep Rachel a secret. She couldn't even be on set using her real name.
ReplyDeleteWhile I love that she was so kind, I hate that there was a need for it in the first place. I hope the kiddo recovered...
ReplyDeleteI also dispise the fact that Cancer drugs/treatments are the highest profit things the drug companies/insurance companies have. That is really terrible.
ReplyDeleteThe money is in the medicine and not in the cure. This does not make it right, but it's corp amer we're dealing with.
ReplyDeleteKelli, you were looking at the wrong Rachel Roberts. The one in this reveal shows up in IMDB as Rachel Roberts (III).
ReplyDeleteThat said, you go Rachel! I didn't know her either because she's mostly been a model, but I love the kindness reveals.
I absolutely love stories like this. The kindness reveals always make me so happy.
ReplyDeleteAnd agree with everyone else who said they hope the child and family are doing ok.
great! nice! sweet!
ReplyDeletethat is really beautiful. it's really nice to hear of people using their power and wealth and connections to help others. that's fantastic. sick children make me so sad, it's tragic. those saint jude commercials make me cry.
ReplyDeletethe winner is:

1/2. I'm inclined to guess Michael Cera and Kit Culkin (Kieran's dad), but it says actress.
3. Rachel Roberts (married to Andrew Niccol, nominated for The Truman Show) According to IMDB, her role in S1m0ne (2002) was the most screen time ever given to an uncredited role.
4. Kristin Kreuk (filing Ben Hur with Ray Winstone)

GOOD JOB!!! that was a hard one!
Wow that's so amazing and kind of Rachel... Thanks for this reveal!
ReplyDeleteGood for both her and her husband to do this. May karma be kind to them.
ReplyDeleteMelody, my father has long stated that the cure for cancer has been found, but it will never be revealed because of all the money being made off of it.
