I guess she would be considered an A list actress. So few actresses are given the opportunity to open movies, but she has. Almost always movies. Rarely television. It needs to be special. Anyway, over the weekend she had a little bit to drink and there was a guy at the party who had a little bit to drink and he made a comment about her anatomy. She didn't hit the guy, but only because two people stepped in between them when she lunged at him.

ReplyDeleteYeah boooyyy!!! Don't mess with Theron! Charlize's interview at Between Two Ferns with Zach Galafianakis (spelling?) has been the funniest in the series so far.

Anyway, I like Charlize, & I'm guessing that whatever was said was offensive & not just annoying; she doesn't strike me as the type to take a swing at someone unless they really had it coming.

ReplyDeleteI know someone who worked on one of her films a few years ago (post Oscar win). He was just about the lowest man on the totem pole, but said she was very nice and down to earth. Would hang with the crew. No hiding in the dressing room.

Charlize T was a white South African schoolgirl at the time her mother shot her abusive violent father. Her former classmates have said that at boarding school she bullied them into acting as her maids. IMO she is a beeyotch who was ruthless in pursuit of Mr Oscar - she has that steely look in her eyes that you can see in very ambitiously driven people. South Africa is still a very poor country dealing with decades of internal social inequity. So for her to rise above her origins to make it as a multi-million dollar Oscar-winning A-list actress in Hollywood, took a lot of hard work, chutzpah and determination. I have no doubt that Ms Theron is an extremely self-confident assertive woman.
