Jennifer Hudson Pregnant Again

Didn't Jennifer Hudson just have a baby? I actually thought she had it like a week ago, but it turns out my math kind of sucks and it was actually four months ago. According to Star, Jennifer found out the couple were expecting on December 10th.

As Star likes to point out they were the first to report on the first pregnancy so I'm guessing they have a really good source in Jennifer's family. From the tone of the article I am guessing this baby was not planned.

“Jennifer was in total shock when she found out she was having another baby,” says her close friend “She had wanted some space between the kids’ ages.”

Well there will be a few months space at least.

  1. Man, that was quick! Don't OB/GYNs say that a woman needs to giver her body more time to recover from a pregnancy?

  2. Her husband looks remarkably like my ex brother-in-law. Who is Italian.

  3. I doubt that Star is telling the truth this time. Jennifer is going to start filming for the lead role as Winnie (sp.?) Mandela in 2010.

  4. I am so out of it, I thought she was still pregnant. *climbing back under rock*

  5. I wonder why she looks so pissed off in that picture?

  6. You should wait about a year between pregnancies. However, I hope this is really happy news for her. She has been through enough already.

  7. She wanted to wait longer between babies...but that didn't stop her from having unprotected sex. GOSH...I got pregnant?!?!? how did that happen?? Durrrr....

@sporky, that's probably her "fierce" look as Tyra would say. Or she just forgot to "smile with her eyes". LOL!

  9. @Tenisha: Sometimes doctors will tell you that if you are breast feeding you cannot get pregnant. That is absolutely not the case, but some doctors still say that.

  11. JHud's husband is the former "Punk" reality star from I Love New York. I think he is a lawyer/community activist in real life.

On the TV show, he was edited as being a very good guy. I hope he's really like that.

  13. I READ SOMEWHERE SHE BOUGHT HER OWN ENGAGEMENT RING....ME I'D RATHER BE BARE FINGERED THAN PAY FOR IT MYSELF...IT'S NOT THAT IMPORTANT TO ME WHAT ANYONE ELSE THINKS...

  14. J-Hud's husband went from

    --Harvard-educated lawyer to
--I Love New York contestant to
    --aspiring professional wrestler.

    Interesting career path.

I'm happy for her; she's been through so much.

  15. Conception happens ;)

  16. Though breast-feeding is not foolproof contraception, it _can_ prevent ovulation. Typically if you are going 6 hrs or longer between feedings (baby is sleeping through the night) then ovulation will start back up.

My bet is that Jennifer Hudson, like so many women with careers not conducive to pumping, gave up breastfeeding after a few weeks and immediately got pregnant.

  17. Well, congrats, Jennifer! :) That kind of pregnancy can happens - when I had my son, everyone said to be extra careful because your body still thinks it's pregnant and conception at that stage is easier than you think.

She'll have a little pair of "Irish Twins" ;)

  18. It's really easy to conceive right after having a baby. I know people who had kids just 11 months apart.

Unless you're breastfeeding, and even that's not foolproof, this'll happen if you don't lay off the sex. Even going right back on the Pill doesn't work, because it takes your body a few months to get used to it all over again.

And I thought having my kids as close as I did was crazy. When my first two turned 14 months old, liek clockwork, I found myself preggo. I didn't take any chances with the third one. ;)

  19. Same thing happenned to me.

It is hard at first, but as they get older it is totally worth it!!

    *irish twins indeed*

  20. I'm less than 44 weeks younger than my sister. Conception does indeed happen, as Patty said, and breast-feeding absolutely is not any sort of birth control method.

  21. @ Tenisha, I got pregnant using 2 forms of birth control. It happens.

  22. hmmmm....there's a name for women who count on breastfeeding for birth control.

    it's 'mommy.'

she probably had sex before her 6 week postpartum checkup when her doctor would've talked to her about birth control. that's a very risky time.

  23. Hey Jennifer, they know what causes that now!!!!

  24. Ms. Cool: Where do you get that information?? None of the OB/GYNS I have worked for recommend that. If it happens, it happens!

As for waiting 6 weeks to have sex again, her baby was born at the beginning of August, she prob conceived after Thanksgiving... big deal!

  25. Isn't an announcement at this time a bit early?
Especially if it's not coming from Ms Hudson's publicist or Ms Hudson herself.
If she is, then more power to her and here's to the health of mother and infant(s).
If she's not, then aside from being more in line with typical tabloid thinking (remember how Nicole got the baby engine started with a well placed hand on belly?) who really cares?
As long as she sings, she can have a gazillion kids as far as I'm concerned.

  26. wow, she's fertile. good thoughts to mom and baby...looks like their household is about to get really hectic.

  27. I didn't think she was married yet.

  28. Rumor has it that she got married right before her son was born. I know she's been overly secretive about her wedding date so it makes sense if she's already married.
