Bye Bye Bonnie

The Bonnie Hunt Show was canceled. I love that show. Well, I love Bonnie Hunt and it seems like she just can't quite get over the top to being a huge star. All her television shows have been good but no one seems to watch them. She is funny and beautiful and one of the people with whom I would most like to have a drink. Hopefully someone else will take a chance on her soon.

Meanwhile below is Bonnie relating a story about her mom and a mini-bar.

  2. I agree...I think she's really funny and fun to watch. I've always enjoyed her but obviously I don't represent any significant number of people as I have yet to watch ANY reality shows...just can't stand them...talk shows are as close as I get to "reality" shows...

  3. She's really funny. I wish she would do an ensemble sitcom or something where she isn't the star. She might have a better shot.

  10. Bonnie Hunt is a class act. She is so witty and genuine. That is such sad news. I love starting out my day with her show. It's on early here. Damn

  11. I agree, Life with Bonnie was awesome. She needs to get a gig on 30 Rock. She sorta reminds me of Tina Fey with her mid west/down-to-earth personality. I like her better than Ellen, but I guess she's not as energetic. Her stories are funny & she is lovely.

  12. Bonnie is a Chicago institution here in my home town and we Chicagoans LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE her!!! Sorry about your show, Bonnie, but I feel the same way as Ent. She really is a beautiful, witty, smart, classy and extremely funny lady. Boy would I love to meet her at a cocktail party!

  13. I have always loved everything she has ever done. They let Tyra do a show and dump Bonnie? Travesty.

  14. I love her in "Return to Me" -- she's such a great actor and so naturally funny. I also enjoy watching her appearances on Letterman, they have a great rapport.

  24. I think the movie Return to Me is the reason why James Belushi got his 'According to Jim' show. Someone saw that and thought "We should turn those two into a tv show" ... and for whatever reason they cast someone else as his wife and hired lousy writers. Welcome to sitcom hell. (Don't let this tidbit turn you off from the movie, it's NOT like a 90 minute episode of According to Jim, haha.)

  25. The Bonnie Hunt Show cancelled? Please, say it isn't so.

I love Bonnie Hunt and find her talk show fun and down to earth. The best Rod Blagojevich interview was when he was on her show and she did not let him get away with anything. Love when she talks to her mom and the stories about growing up in Chicago.

Can we start a petition to save the show?

  26. Bonnie and Mr. Clooney were so close back in the 80's.
Can't he throw her a scrap?
Or is the nomadic lifestyle of moviemaking she hates?
She and George need to take it to the next level-relationship!
Wouldn't it be udderly shocking to see him with a gal the same age as him!

  27. I love her so much! Absolutely delightful. I so agree with whomever it was that said it's criminal that Tyra has a show, but not a treasure like Bonnie. And don't even get me started on Wendy effing-Williams! Not to mention those nasty freakfest that are shows like Maury Povitch. I'm sure I butchered that spelling, but he's icky, so who cares? Bonnie should be Ellen-level famous and successful. Sigh.

  28. Bonnie is so lovely. I agree about the Tyra thing.

  29. wow~lots of love for Bonnie.

I'm not hating on her, but I don't watch her show, and would probably change the channel if it was on. Can't quite put my finger on what it is that I don't like about her, just not my taste, I guess.

Oh, and Tyra....I would RUN to change the channel on her dumbass. I can very much put my finger on what I hate about her...HER!

  30. I don't know were or how they get their "ratings' but they are a bunch of classless, crude morons. Everything I watch is I swear 20 years old lol!!!

  31. Queen Beatnick, if you find a petition to keep her on the air anywhere online, please post it here, I would LOVE to sign it! I was actually wondering the same thing when I initially heard she was cancelled, and have looked online, but can't find one anywhere.

  32. I love this show! My favorite is when her Mom skypes in and talks about The Hills and what not.

She is so genuine. She will be so missed!

  33. Agree with everyone about Return to Me! Bonnie wrote it and directed it (in addition to having a really hilarious role in it), and you can just feel all the love and care she put into it shining throughout the movie. It is such a sad/happy/feel-good movie and I LOVE it!
