TV News - Lost, Heroes, Oprah And I Promise No Project Runway Spoilers Either

Yes, I know the Project Runway finale was yesterday but Canada is a few weeks behind as is the rest of the world so please do not mention the winner in the comments. Exciting though wasn't it when Heidi named herself the winner and threw out all the rest of the contestants and then gave that evil laugh as they faded to commercial. I never expected such a thing.

Anyway, if you are a Lost fan it will start on February 2nd, 2010 which is a Tuesday. That is at 9pm. They are giving the show a different day which is very interesting. It will be the last episodes ever so enjoy them.

Also probably finishing out the string is Heroes. NBC is moving it from 8pm to 9pm to try and get someone to watch it. This past Monday it had its lowest ratings ever and I can't see how it makes it back for another year. The first year was great but the second year it fell part and the show never recovered. I know Trauma was canceled, but NBC probably figures anything can do better than Heroes was doing at 8pm and so NBC ordered three new episodes of the show and will air them in Heroes old time slot. Got it?

Oh, and I saw that Oprah is quitting her show in late 2011. Well sure, this way we can give her a nice 22 month send off and every guest she has will bring her presents. Do we really need this much notice? No, but she wants to make sure that people are watching so she can go out on a high note.

  1. No spoiler here but why does Michael Kors need to wear sunglasses at the finale fashion shows? I thought maybe he had eye trouble or something but he doesn't wear them at the regular runway shows! Just one of those things I don't understand!

  2. i have a pet peeve about people wearing sunglasses indoors- especially on the subway

i don't know why but it just bugs the shit outta me

  3. Oprah can't leave quickly enough for me. Sorry, I know lots of people just love her- but I'm not feeling the love.

  4. **crosses fingers** please let me score tix for oprah's show. i have been trying for the last two years.

this is no surprised due to the fact that when oprah signed her last contract, she mentioned it would be her last.

  5. I love Lost but the fact is there's sooooo much time between seasons (seems like years, sometimes) I've by now completely forgotten what night it normally aired.

  6. The Mighty Opes is only ending her show on a regular network and is planning to relaunch it on the network she owns.
I find it interesting that so many items I've read on the subject, leave that part out.

  7. @Tenley: I think Wednesdays. But I've completely forgotten what was going on.

  8. Tenley....it lost its Thursday night spot for the last season...which sucks..

  9. Thanks so much for thinking of us Canadian folk, Enty. I have the same problem with Top Chef and can never avoid finding out on the Internet who gets kicked off before we get the episode :(

And you are SO right about Oprah's reasoning behind the early announcement.

  10. I find it interesting that Oprah announces the end of her show a few days after I read articles that TV stations wanted huge discounts in what they pay to air her show because viewership is down. Was it that she "had enough" or couldn't "get enough"? I bet she gets it now.

  11. I wish we could talk about Project Runway. Are there any messageboards for PR? Bravo had them but I don't see anything active on Lifetime.

  12. The Oprah announcement is such a non-event, regardless of how the media is treating it. Her ratings have been dropping for years and she isn't what she used to be. I used to watch her in high school but that was back when she was interesting and not such a kiss ass.

    Can't wait for LOST!!

  13. I don't know about Kors, but in "The September Issue" Anna Wintour said she wears sunglasses so the press doesn't know what exactly she's looking at or judge her reactions as easily. Maybe it's the same for him.

  14. you can go to eonline.com to the watch with Kristin message boards. You'll have to sign up for a user name and password but there is a PR season discussion thread there.

  15. Well at least Oprah was honest enough to admit that she plans on milking every moment of your time until she can move viewers to her OWN cable station.

I am glad Opa is leaving, but to announce it now when it wouldn't happen till 2011. I am sure she is trying to get good ratings if it's going into her own network.

try enlarging it from this link. it works for me from here:

  21. Enty, can you please remove those 2 posts from Dick? Aside from the spoilers, his pic is less than pleasant to look at.

  25. I don't know what I'm going to do after Lost ends. AAARGH! But I am glad it's getting a planned ending instead of falling into mediocrity.

  26. Going into the finale I thought all of the finalists have some good points but are kind of mediocre overall. I really didn't think any of them deserved to win (and I say that adoring that sweetie Carol Hannah).

What enty joked about in the main item? Would have been better really happening.

  27. Also, Chuck is coming back early in the 8 pm slot in early January.

Why is she waiting for September? They stop filming for the summer. Just end the show there before it goes into reruns and requires a spot in the afternoons. Now all we need is women hating Dr Phil kicked to the curb and I won't be frightened to turn on tv during the afternoons anymore.

  29. I just wish I could have stayed with Lost. Loved it at first. Latter, just couldn't keep up my interest.

  30. I hate NBC for canceling Life. I don't watch any of those other shows, so no spoilers from me!

Oprah can't end her show fast enough. That egomaniacal, self-serving blitch is loathsome.

Agreed. And asshats who wear hoodies indoors.

Canada gets the same shows on the same day as the USA. Airing time can differ within the day by time zone but the difference is not weeks.

  34. I thought Lost was coming back in January??? Just checked out http://darkufo.blogspot.com/ to confirm the Feb 2nd start date. Not happy that it will be on Tuesday since I already have Tues night plans. Guess I'll need to get a Tivo!

  35. No spoilers, just a comment...one of the models is a friend's daughter, we had the joy of being on the stage together for the Roger's and Hamerstein's production of Cinderella that the local theater put on, she was Cinderella, I was the Fairy Godmother, and she is a delight to work with. The whole of our little town has been rooting her on!
