Morgan Harrington Search

If you happen to live close to the Charlottesville, Virginia area and don't have anything to do this weekend, I hope you will consider joining in the search for Morgan Harrington. On October 17, Morgan was at a Metallica concert and she stepped outside to have a cigarette. While she was outside she realized she had left her ticket inside. Security wouldn't let her back in without it and so she called her friends inside the show and said she would get a ride home.

I'm not sure why they didn't bring her a ticket, but in any event that was the last anyone has seen of Morgan. Her parents have offered a $100K reward for her safe return or information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible. Metallica has also contributed $50K to the fund.

This weekend there is a huge search being organized to see if they can find her.

Here is the link to the website and what you can do to help.

  2. If she got in the car with some random stranger they could have taken her anywhere.

The people who find her are the people who probably took her...AKA The Finders

Um, where are you getting your info in paragraph one? Nothing you state is accurate. Did you just make up the cigarette part? And her friends had her ticket?? You know, it's one thing to make up stuff to intice a good read but it's another to state untrue crap just for the sake of space. The Charlottesville police would LOVE to hear from you and find out where you got this 'info'. Truth is people, no one knows why she left the building, no friend had her ticket and there has been no mention of her smoking. She had her ticket with her, however, rules at JPJ arena is that once you leave, you cannot re-enter. We are desperately trying to locate her and if you do live in the area, please, please, please come help out Sat and Sun with a search east of Charlottesville. Side note: I've read the site for years for entertainment. I lost all respect for who ever writes this up after the HUGE blind about the old actor being gay and doing womens' parts back in the 30's/40's. People were guessing Alice someone, I don't remember all the details, but after the blind was reveiled, everyone was ticked because the clues didn't add up. I should have stopped reading then. Whatever, stop lying about a true missing person, it does not help at all.

While it's sad that a person is missing, it's a total case of Missing White Woman Syndrome. The only ones the media ever bothers to report on.

linnea - thanks sweetie, we are desperately trying! Normally, I wouldn't vent but, you know, inaccurate info may cause someone to not remember something, anything, that could help. A little more info in case anyone here was at the show and it may trigger something. Her purse was found the next morning in an ajacent parking lot with her cell phone inside it. She did call her friends inside and told them she couldn't get back in but not one of them checked on her after the concert. It wasn't until the next day when she didn't show up at her parent's house that the police were notified. Her dad was going to help her with a math test. She had been waiting for this concert for months, had the tickets on the fridge since May, so we are bewildered as to why she would even leave once inside. And no, there are no stamps on the hand. Once you go out, you do not come back in, ticket or not. Crazy I know, isn't it? She was last seen walking away from the center by herself. Anyway, thanks for anyone reading this and I'm sorry I've taken up so much space. And, times are crazy, if you go out, please try to go with friends and not by yourself, especially in situations like this. Peace.

This is a case of 'Our Classmate is Missing and We Want Her Back' syndrome. Thank God that her father (a prominent doctor in the area) and his collegues have been able to put together enough of their OWN money to pay for the media's attention and also offer a reward along with the band's help. I'm sorry all missing persons are afforded the same attention but it is in no way a case of missing white woman whatever you want to call it.

I hope this woman is found, but I have a question. Are you saying that her father and his friend's paid for the MEDIA's attention? Like the local news? This would be the first time that I have heard of this.

Is it also a possibility that this woman ran off? I don't mean to offend.

I'm originally from Lynchburg, just under an hour away and I really hope she's found safe. I know her family, classmates and friends want to know either way but I'm praying for a positive outcome.

I don't know if they directly paid media outlets, if so, I have no problem with that, but they have indirectly caused media coverage through all the coordinated searches, vigils, fliers, posters, billboards, radio spots, contacting Metallica and asking for their help, etc. not to mention bringing in professionals to help with all of it. She didn't run off, anyone that knows her knows that.

  18. to Anon@1:32 PM:

Enty posted this on my behalf. I gave him the details. I got the part about the cigarette and the ticket from a video on the findmorgan.com website. Sorry if this is misinformation but don't blame Enty. Blame me. I was just trying to bring light to the cause and thought Enty could help.

I'm sorry if I screwed it up. I hope she's found safe and sound.

  19. Damn, is she STILL missing?

Go to The Dreamin' Demon - they're a very crass true-crime website that has reported on this case before. If there is any new info, they'll prolly have it.
