Has Letterman Been Kicked Out Of His Home?
If you ask the National Enquirer they will tell you that David Letterman has been kicked out of his house and that he is now staying in a Manhattan condo. If you ask The Late Show they will say The Enquirer got the story all wrong. Hmmm. Who to believe.
The Enquirer says that Dave and his wife tried to patch things up but that his wife just can't get over how badly she was embarrassed by all of the affairs coming to light and finally kicked Dave out of their home. The Late Show didn't exactly give the strongest denial on record and so there probably is some truth to it. I mean chances are even if Dave is going to be forgiven there are going to be a lot of nights where his wife is pissed at him and there are going to be a lot of time he has to sleep somewhere else.
We always mention Dave and what an ass he is because of this, and one of the things that makes it worse is that whenever his wife goes out in public you know that everyone is whispering and she has to relive what happened everyday all day and that has to suck. It must be almost impossible to heal because you are always going to be pointed at and stared at which makes you think about it again and the same feelings must just keep surfacing.
If my spouse was to do something like this to me I would never forgive. Also I would take him to the cleaners if he had the money.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame her if she did. How is she supposed to feel about all of this? It's not a joke and it's humiliating and a true betrayal of her and their relationship.
ReplyDeleteThis is bound to end up up in divorce and he will pay through the teeth too. Hope it was worth it Dave!
DITTO SYLVIA, BUT DIDN'T THE WIFE WORK FOR HIM ALSO ?
ReplyDeleteThe whole thing sucks.
ReplyDeleteForgive, but never forget.
ReplyDeleteBeing filthy rich might help ease the pain a bit.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine how much worse it is to go thru this in the public eye...it sucks enough when you are a nobody....
ReplyDeletei cant even imagine how she is suffering. my shithead of a father cheated on my mother with a woman in his company for over 4 years. he denied, denied, denied and when he finally left he was engaged within a year to her.
ReplyDeletemy mother was not only humilated she was also called crazy during the entire affair and divorce.
whenever we go out in town i can just feel the whispers and people are just too nice. always asking...ohhh how are you? i hate it.
i cant even imagine how horrible it would be to have to go through it in the public eye.
I wouldn't blame her a bit.
ReplyDeleteShe has been humiliated publicly so you have to feel for her. I still think there is more to this story than he was boning his staff. I have a feeling that the truth is much worse. Like videotapes, serious kink, and criminal stuff.
ReplyDeletei hope she booted his ass.
ReplyDeletedoes this mean they didnt have "a deal" do u think? or did they, but she is now humiliated cause ppl found out?
ReplyDeleteto me, is its true, it seems a lot less likely that she knew and accepted it all along...
Hm, when my parents divorced it was a blessing. No more arguments, just a nice quiet house. I feel for his wife, he's a piece o' poo.
ReplyDeleteBefore all this even happened, I couldn't stand him, now he's on my black list of shows not to watch.
What .robert said. The amount of sympathy I feel for people who are whispered about is directly proportional to the ratio (1/their bank account balance).
ReplyDeleteit took years for him to marry her. he always said he was horrible marriage material, and surely she knew that. it was only after she had henry that he finally did it.
ReplyDeletei'm not defending dave, but i'd say this is a cautionary tale:
if it takes you over 20 years to get a guy to commit, and then he only does so a few years after you've had his child, and he's said very publicly he's lousy husband material, GET OUT.
Very true, nancer.
ReplyDeleteI knew a woman who was casually dating a guy who told her he was not good "boyfriend material". And she was upset because he had not returned her call for a week. What part of what he said did you not understand??? The guy warned you!
But alas, she thought she could "change him".
shazzzba, don't know if she used to work for him.
ReplyDeleteDid she?

ReplyDeleteI sincerely doubt it is 'her' house(s) to kick him out of. Dave is a cheating ass, true, but I would imagine he also had an impenetrable prenup. He will no doubt keep most of his money. She can (and should) leave, but his perpetual betrayals show such contempt for her...I doubt she gets that much to take with her...at least not enough for her public humiliation. I hope there was no confidentially agreement in said prenup, as Lasko's tell all book would be a great read.
ReplyDeleteThis must be breaking her heart. She loves him and probably wishes this could have a happy ending, but there's too much to factor into it. Does he really want to be with her? Is he just trying to save face (and money)? I think she needs to leave him. If he loves her then he'll stay with her even if they're divorced.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if his ratings have gone down??
ReplyDeletei heard the opposite, that they are up by kind of a lot
ReplyDeleteI won't watch him again. I lived through that kind of betrayal once and it was agonizing.
ReplyDeleteHis wife must be doubly angry because during his first "apology" on air, he never apologized to her!
ReplyDeleteAH SOMETHING I DO KNOW...SHE LIVED OR STILL LIVES IN A LOFT IN TRIBECA , I THINK IT'S THE SAME BUILDING JOHN KENNEDY JR. LIVED IN...DAVE IS SAID TO OWN MULTIPLE APTS. IN THAT SAME BUILDING.
ReplyDeleteHE ALSO HAS A HOUSE IN EITHER WEST CHESTER OR CONNECTICUT.
Kick him out, get mucho $$$, move on.
ReplyDelete@ .Robert and A Pimp...
ReplyDeleteAre you just referring to the fact that "rich people" won't have material worries when they go through their heartache - as in "where am I going to live now?"
Otherwise, I'm at a loss...
kinda like Jennifer Aniston's situation....
ReplyDeleteI could never do the whole: "forgive, but don't forget" b.s.-- No offence to whoever said it
ReplyDeleteIf you're never going to forget then you are going to be the only one suffering. Forgive them, as in let them off the hook, and then keep the pain to yourself?
Fuck that.
I never liked Letterman and was honestly outraged when I saw how so many people were reacting when the news firat broke. So many ppl were 100% forgiving and even sympathetic to Dave.
@ AnnMarie: Regina Lasko is NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER going to have to wonder where she's going to live, ever again. EVER. Either she stays with Dave, and lives in a multimillion dollar mansion in Greenwich, or she divorces him and gets (conservatively) 20-40M in a divorce plus full child support.
ReplyDeleteBut leaving that aside... the issue was feeling sorry that when she goes out, people will always "whisper" about how Dave cheated on her. And my stance is: given how much $$$$ she has, cry me an effing river. The price of fame may be high, but the rewards of fame are exponentially higher.
Also, she knew EXACTLY what she was getting into, as others have pointed out. Have we all forgotten -- or failed to notice -- that SHE was the assistant fucking the boss back in the day? Didn't anyone actually read how they had met?
The only time it'll stop is about 25 years after she has dumped him.
