I was pissed about Kevin Spacey but he is a monumental prick so it isn't surprising. What am I more pissed off about is the fact that somehow Britney Spears is the only person in the world who does not have her liquids taken away from her at the airport.
TMZ caught Britney going through security at the airport with what looks like at least a 32 ounce drink. TMZ was amazed and called TSA who said, "screeners have discretion."
Oh really? I guaranfuckingtee you that right now all of us could go to the airport and try that same move and NONE of us would succeed. Senators, Congressman, Ambassadors from other countries, no one would succeed. Somehow Britney Spears is allowed to do this. Why? Because she can lip synch better than the rest of the world?
Are you seriously kidding me? Everyone in the world is apparently subject to the liquid law except for Britney. I think it is the dumbest thing ever, but ALL of us are subject to it. Except Britney. Next time you go through the line take a big ass coke with you and say Britney did it and also say you understand that screeners have discretion when it comes to liquids. Be sure to send me a postcard from Guantanamo and let me know how that worked out.
pleassseeee. that bitch can't even lip synch properly.
ReplyDeleteconsidering she's not exactly the picture of sanity these days, wouldn't that make her MORE of a threat to security?
Let's hope she doesn't meet and befriend any terrorists.
ReplyDeleteEnty is a caped crusader today. Fighting injustice at airports, restaurants, and bad role models, lol! Go Enty!
ReplyDeleteSINCE SHE IS AN IDIOT, I WOULD BE EXTRA CAREFUL WITH HER, LORD KNOWS WHAT SHE MIGHT CARRY ON...
ReplyDeleteOh this makes me so mad. Those bastards threw away some really expensive perfume/hair products I HAD BOUGHT IN THE AIRPORT when those stupid rules first came out, even though I had checked it with some other people working security. Ever since then, I have had it in for them. And now it turns out the have discretionary powers? Fuck em
ReplyDeleteWho drinks that much caffeine prior to getting on an airplane?
ReplyDeleteSome people skate through life like Britney, and some people have to fight and claw for everything they get. That's how it goes.
ReplyDeletesue ellen, you are so right. although those who 'skate by' end up getting 'it' towards the end. or so we like to think...
ReplyDeleteLong time lurker here! Love this blog....I have to comment to this. I will say that the most they have allowed me to bring on is a tube of toothpaste (saying they used their discretion and deemed it safe). BUT the last time I went on vacation with my boyfriend they let him bring on a bottle of cologne, a SWISS ARMY KNIFE, matches, and who knows what else. I was really shocked. They are so weird about this stuff.
ReplyDeleteQS:
ReplyDeleteHa! They have to get "theirs" eventually. They HAVE to!
And Britney has gotten "hers", hasn't she? Let her take a cup so what, she's mental.
lol, Momster! so true.
ReplyDeletenot to play devil's advocate...but let's face it. britney can't handle he own life...the liklihood of her soft drink containing bomb-making material is zero to none.
yeah, it sucks, and i'm not crazy about having to practically strip to get thru security, but i'll bet TSA choosing to let her slide made the line go faster...and if you know how long and lengthy those lines can get, then hey, they did everyone a favor.
I hate to sound Britney-centric (confession: I love her), but I seriously doubt that Britney Spears is going to blow up an airplane that she is on. If the security people do have discretion, I can see a profile of Britney being: Not about to blow herself up with a big soda.
ReplyDeleteNow, Denise Richards, Courtney Love, or Jeremy Piven, I wouldn't let them on with a beverage. Or Gordon Liddy, or Glenn Beck, or even Sharon Stone. This is turning into a fascinating study: What celeb is most likely to suicide spectacularly on an airplane, taking out everyone at the same time?
there's no cap on the cup. Maybe it didn't have that much in it? Not defending Brit, just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteWell I was wondering about celebrities like Posh who get all gussied up to go on a plane. Me? I've been doing a lot of traveling this year and I even searched around for a bra that wouldn't set off the metal detector because I got tired of being wanded and/or patted down. So I go out of my way not to make the machine go off. (Even still, the first time I went through and it didn't go off, I was "randomly" picked out of the line getting on the plane to be PATTED DOWN! I was PISSED!)
So don't tell me that Posh doesn't set off metal detectors for miles around when she goes through the machines. I bet they don't pat her down!!!!
TMZ posted a one line addendum to their article saying that per the TSA there were ice chips only in the cup which are permissable.
ReplyDeleteI wish to holy hell they'd told me that when I was traveling w/my non-ambulatory nearly 80-year-old mother last year! Bastards not only wouldn't let me have a small UNOPENED bottle of water for her to take medicine with, they also made this very ladylike woman suffer the indignity of having a patdown in public. The poor thing had nightmares after that. F***ers.
Virginia, that's horrible. Your mom shouldn't have had to go thru that.
ReplyDeleteLOL at Barton. Just waiting for the next BritBrit train wreck.
ReplyDeleteJesus! I hate the f-ing TSA anyway. I had to travel to Palm Beach when I was still on dialysis in 2002. I literally got off the machine and went to the airport and Jesus-Tap-Dancing-Christ .. I was about ready to fall down!! My BP was scary low, I had massive bandages on my arm where the needles had been and it was OBVIOUS some sort of event had taken place there .. and they decide I looked like a friggin' terrorist and pull me out of line and damn near strip search me. I almost fainted which only prodded the GED wonders to find more to do to me.
ReplyDeleteThen on the trip back I went through the same thing after not having dialysis for almost 4 1/2 days and I looked like I was dying .. well .. actually .. I WAS! It was amazing .. damn near strip searched again .. heart was in arrhythmia due to the high potassium content in my blood stream .. so I totally looked capable of over powering flight staff and crashing a damn plane, right!?! For Christ's sake .. I got in my seat - my first time EVER in First Class - and fell asleep til the FA woke me when the plane was empty after arrival at MSP.
Ugh .. You are right, EK .. we would all end up in Cuba! Brit Brit .. you suck! TSA .. YOU SUCK WORSE!!! : ( [Yes .. I know .. that event was 7 years ago .. but I have a memory like an elephant when it comes to being treated in a manner I don't feel I necessary warrant.]
People should quit flying and put the airline biz in a tailspin. Then see how fast they would start being nicer to the customer.
