Claire Danes Thinks She Is All That

I have been nice to Claire Danes lately right? I mean ever since Hugh Dancy started dating her Claire started thawing and when they got married I even thought I glimpsed a smile or two. Sure, it could have been something she ate, but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. I'm trying to rack my mind when Claire actually had a hit movie. Anyone? It seems like it has been one bomb after the other. So, after the premiere for her new movie (above) Claire went back to her hotel and was sitting there in the lobby doing absolutely nothing. Then, in what surely must be remembered as the shockers of the century, someone walking through the lobby recognized Claire. I know, I know. Well, the fan immediately went up to the sitting doing nothing Claire and asked for her autograph.

"I haven't got time to sign autographs."

Claire then went back to doing nothing and a disappointed fan walked away. So, now instead of ten people going to her movies Claire can expect nine.

  1. The only time I ever remember that this person exists is when I see or think about Mary Louise Parker.

  2. THERE ARE VERY FEW THAT ARE ACTUALLY WARM TO FANS...VERY FEW

  3. Yeah, me neither. She ain't all THAT, IMO, either talent-wise or any-other-thing-wise.

And I understand the paranoia that might occur when strangers come up to you out of the blue, but that does come with the territory, and surely a "nicer" turn-down could be given.

  6. She just looks so plain to me. What Hugh sees in her, I don't know.

  7. While it may not have been extremely successful, I did enjoy her in Stardust.

  8. She was rude, but I've never understood the point of getting an autograph. Is it to prove that you've met the person? A way to talk to a celebrity? Increase the value of a collectible? I just don't get it.

  9. @ Paisley- i don't get that either. photos, sure. chatting for a minute, yeah. a signed piece of paper you're probably gonna lose?

to each his own though. i guess it would depend on who it is.

i might ask for Wayne Gretzky's but i certainly wouldn't want Claire's, lol. what the hell has she ever done?

  10. She was too busy showing her nipplies in the black dress pictured above. Apparently, it was sheer and there was no bra underneath. Another site (can't remember which) has the pics.

  13. I haven't seen any of her films in a long time. I liked her in Polish Wedding, but that was 10 years ago.

  14. the last good movie she was in was Home for the Holidays with Holly Hunter and Rober Downey Jr. she's hardly in it.

  15. I remember Polish Wedding, but more for Gabriel Byrne, yum.

And didn't she want out of MSCL, to start her movie career? It's always been blamed on the network canceling the show, but I don't think that was the case.

  17. @Alice D - me, too. I've had a hard time liking her since then.

When there are incredibly gracious stars around like Hugh Jackman, this sort of behaviour looks really bad - celebs gotta step it up! If they don't make the effort, they simply don't care, and I think the work they get directly reflects that, which is good.

  18. I've never liked her either, but I thought it was just me. Glad to hear I'm not alone.

  19. I always thought MSCL was overrated, and she was the most overrated cast member. I've liked some of the movies she's been in (Stardust, Igby Goes Down), but always despite her. She comes across as majorly uppity - which I never got, because she isn't particularly pretty (her body has the most awkward proportions), has the worst public image thanks to the Mary Louise Parker incident, and is now married to an attractive but most likely gay man.

  22. My granddaughter and love "Stardust" not because of Claire's role in the film, any attractive young woman could have played the role but because of Robert DeNiro's outstanding performance as the captain.

@redronnie, I love Robert DeNiro in Stardust he was hilarious. The movie is cute and u r right any actress could have played the star/comet whatever she was LOL.

  24. Does she ever wear a bra or an outfit that isn't see-through? Geez.

My thought is that if she wants to show her nipples all the time, perhaps she also wants to be recognized in the hotel lobby.

She certainly can't be too busy working.

  25. I love Stardust too. And it's one my daughter's favorite movies. But it's based an Neil Gaiman story, so come on. It's going to good. Robert DeNiro and Michell Pfieffer were fabo in it.

  26. Is it me or is one of her eyes slightly misaligned sometimes?

  27. I was home sick this week and watched the Clair Danes/Richard Geere movie called "The Flock" wherein Richard's character is a social service agent who is inches from a forced retirement, and Claire plays his replacement. The movie was so bad and she is such a bad actress, but it is hard for me to turn off a movie once I start watching it. The only way I could get through it was to just pretend that Claire's character was actually Angela Chase, all grown up, starting a new job. I psyched myself into thinking that Reianne (sp?) or Ricky might pop into the movie at any moment. Anyway, it was easy to convince myself that Claire was playing Angela because every single one of Claire's characters are exactly the same--ie, Angela. It made the movie more fun.

  30. Eh, the whole MLP thing was definitely crappy, but I just watched Shopgirl last week and really enjoyed it. And the Leo DiCaprio/Danes Romeo and Juliet was totally the rage when I was in 7th grade lol....
