Tracy Morgan Hates Cheri Oteri & Chris Kattan
Have you ever listened to an audio book? I have tried numerous times but unless I have no other option I really don't enjoy them. Tracy Morgan though may just convince me to change my mind. Tracy has a new book out called "I Am The New Black." Tracy also reads it for the audio version. Apparently the audio version has lots of improv from Tracy and not just him reading word for word from the book.
The most interesting thing he says is when he talks about Cheri Oteri and Chris Kattan. "I could remember those two, especially those two people, treating me like the invisible guy. Now look where they at. Cheri Oteri, she can't even get arrested. That's what happened to me over there. They never treated me well. I never cared for them either. F--- 'em."
well, at least he gives props to will farrell and molly shannon...but so sad he comes across as so bitter.
ReplyDeletehe cracks me up, but I have always heard that he really is crazy and it isn't just an act. I wonder if it is true.
ReplyDeleteI used to love Cheri Oteri when she was on SNL. Makes me sad she was a snob to Tracy and hasn't done much of anything lately.
ReplyDelete@Karmen - it's like I tell my teenager "it's one person's version of events"
ReplyDeleteBut he has a point. Be nice to the people on your way up because you may meet them on the way down.
ReplyDelete@sunnyside1213:
ReplyDelete"watch out because the toes you step on today may be attached to the ass you kiss tomorrow"
I have heard Kattan can be snobby. Perhaps a napolian complex?
ReplyDeleteand Tracy is way funnier oon 30 Rock than he ever was on SNL but still, no one should be treated as less just cause they were the bigger stars.
ReplyDeleteTracy has been on Stern a couple times and he's a straight up nut. According to Artie Lange, he is really that nuts. They knew each other back in the day on the stand up circuit. If he is half as crazy as he is on that show, Cheri might have been scared shitless of him. Chris Kattan always gave me douchechills so that statement didn't surprise me. I can see it being true though. They were big time on that show compared to Tracy. I think he's funny as all hell.
ReplyDelete@BlahFrickinBlah: douchechills?? Haaaaa.
ReplyDeleteI met Tracy Morgan 5-6 years ago when he came to my college to do stand up (I was in graduate school at the time). He seemed like a verrrrrry sweet guy, but was *TOTALLY* fucked in the head. Like seriously fucked up. Now that he's sober, he seems better...but I do believe the craziness is a manifestation of some untreated psychosis and not just regular crazy.
For Cheri and Chris: what goes around comes around. I guarantee you that Tracy has access to people, places, and things now that they couldn't begin to dream of.
He may be crazy or not. But he sure is funny on 30 Rock. Anyway, it's his opinion, his book - isn't this why we read stuff like this for the tell-all? Just wish it were somebody interesting. Check out Dick Cavett's NYT articles on Richard Burton, you can even watch the shows. Now that is fascinating stuff.
ReplyDeleteHasn't Tracy kinda got a rep as a bitter drunken jerk? I could be wrong and I know very little of him .. but I swear he had that rep a while back any way. I thought his attitude and issues almost got him fired from 30 Rock?
ReplyDeleteAs for audiobooks .. I actually like them. I listen to them at night when I am trying to fall asleep. I am an insomniac due to my anti-rejection meds and I just lay in bed listening to them as I try to relax and shut my brain off enough to sleep.
Currently I have "Summer Knight" - a Dresden Files book - on my ipod shuffle. The fact it is read by James Marsters doesn't hurt either .. I could listen to him read the phone book! Great voice .. deep, sexy .. perfect to listen to as one tries to fall asleep.
When you 'work' with people, you should treat them all civilly, no matter how bad they treat you. They can be the jerk, you should not be. He doesn't seem like he is a jerk though, so no need to be a jerk to him. However, yes, he is certifiably crazy, but he still seems to be a nice guy. Just don't go out to dinner with him.
ReplyDeleteKatatn is also Pop Royalty. His mother was a model back in the 1960's, used to hand with the Stones/Beatles,etc. And his dad was some actor. Hacing said all that, he can still be nice.
ReplyDeleteTracy Morgan: think he's hilarious but I wonder if Tina Fey gave him a role he didn't have to research too much.
ReplyDeleteAudiobooks: it's all I listen to when I work out. If I listen to music I'll keep playing the same thing again and again but audiobooks really keep me engaged. Kinda weird tho, to see me riding a bicycle alongside traffic and break out into laughter for no apparent reason.
Coincidence department: Wil, I'm also listening to Summer Knight.
