Roman Polanski On To Catch A Predator
This is a 90 second clip where an interview with Roman Polanski is mashed with Dateline's To Catch A Predator. Roman is talking about the rape in his interview and I know this thing is sliced and diced and edited, but it doesn't sound like he is very remorseful at all.
Boo hoo, Roman.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the one where he says it was a passionate affair... jeez
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw it I thought he was talking about different girls though... has anyone seen the whole interview with polanski?
ReplyDeleteteehee @ whomever got creative and did the vid. i really hope polanski doesnt keep getting off (no pun, i swear) easy.

"Why should I be punished for that penchant I had to young women?"
ReplyDeleteCREEP.
I am still thinking why Hollywood celebrities would still back up this creep.
ReplyDeleteI am still thinking why Hollywood celebrities would still back up this creep.
ReplyDeleteWoody Allen, Pedro Almodovar, Monica Bellucci, Gael Garcia Bernal, Bernardo Bertolucci, Ethan Coen, Robert Cohen, Penelope Cruz, Jonathan Demme, Stephen Frears, Terry Gilliam, Buck Henry, David Heyman, Larry Levine, David Lynch, Michael Mann, Jeanne Moreau, Alexander Payne, Brett Ratner, Isabelle Ruh, Julian Schnabel, Martin Scorsese, Tilda Swinton, Julie Turcas, Isabelle Adjani, Harrison Ford, Taylor Hackford, Isabelle Huppert, Jeremy Irons, Neil Jordan, Sam Mendes, Camille Meyer, Mike Nichols, Natalie Portman, Salman Rushdie, Kristin Scott Thomas, William Shawcross, Steven Soderbergh, Diane von Furstenberg, Margaret Walker, Scott Foundas (LA Weekly).
^^Dead to me.
^^Tilda Swinton??? I am so disappointed. Thanks for the list, Missy.
ReplyDeleteYes, thanks for the list. I'll add them to my 'loathing' list.
ReplyDeletethe cohen brothers too? What the -----
ReplyDeleteYes, he's a creep. Yes, he used drugs to seduce an under age girl.
ReplyDeleteYes, he was indicted by a grand jury of those crimes.
Yes, he fled the country 30 years ago to avoid a rescinded plea deal that would have meant jail time for him instead of the cushy deal previously worked out.
However - it is 30 years later, he's currently being held without bail in a Swiss jail while the California government debates exactly what to do with him - meaning that the Governator is probably arguing with the DA about this, and regardless of what action the DA takes, Ahnuld is going to pardon him. (And undoubtedly have a role in a future project)
I don't condone what he did, however given his level of celebrity, the length of time since the incident and the fact that there's an actor in the Governor's office who is in the last few years of his term and is looking for employment after that term ends, he's going to get pardoned.
Aaw...that list was painful! Thanks, Missy.
ReplyDeleteMost shocking to me have been Harvey Weinstein's defence of the "so-called crime" and claim that "Hollywood has the best moral compass" [Ha! Has he been to H'wood? He should read this blog], and Whoopi Goldberg's insistence that she "knows" it wasn't "rape-rape".
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I didn't expect that from her. I always assumed she was the voice of reason on THE VIEW, which really isn't saying much, but still...
actually, arnold said he shouldnt get special treatment and he will not pardon polanski
ReplyDeleteI can't believe anyone would actually defend him.
ReplyDeleteI will assume they don't have daughters. Or common decency for that matter.
My God, that list is painful. So many great directors that I have admired in the past are on that list. How can anyone (other than Woody Allen)defend a man who drugged a 13 year old girl and then had sex with her? Even if she hadn't said no, which she did, it is a reprehensible act. It makes me wonder with whom they've had sex. As far as the actors and actress go, Hitchcock was right "Actors are cattle."
ReplyDeleteHow did he pay the price?
ReplyDeleteMissy,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the list. Woody Allen had to be on that list since he is the same way as Polanski.
Add that he was "dating" Nastassia Kinski when she was 15, was photographed surrounded by teenaged girls and that one of his screenwriters said that it was hard to get work done with all the topless teenaged girls hanging around, and we get the picture.
ReplyDeleteUm..."Hollywood has the best moral compass"?? Tell that to gays living in Hollywood that can't be married, and anyone living under the state reign of former Hollywood star Schwarzenegger. Outrageous statement by Weinstein.
ReplyDeleteTerry Gilliam? Why?!?
ReplyDeletePervert.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Lauren. And Weinstein is a vile disgusting pig. Loathe him.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Sam Mendes the husband of Kate Winslet? Interesting how his name is there and not hers. Must be some interesting discussions around that dinner table!
