JImmy Kimmel Dating Employee On His Show

With the whole David Letterman scandal from the past couple weeks it shouldn't be surprising that Jimmy Kimmel's people called Kneepads over the weekend and shared the tidbit that Jimmy Kimmel is dating someone who works for him. When you do the calling you get to spin the story the way you want it to be spun and don't have to worry about some sensational headline.

According to People, the pair began dating when they found themselves single and they just couldn't deny the attraction. Jimmy is dating Molly McNearney who is the co- head writer on his show and has worked for the show for the past six years. So, when they break up and they will, I guess she will have to leave the show or she will sue Jimmy or something. Don't date employees. I also wonder if Molly was the reason Jimmy and Sarah Silverman broke up.

  1. it's likely he's too fucking baked and lazy to try and date in public.

  2. Workplace romances happen all the time, I really don't see this as being anything but normal--in Letterman's case, he was cheating but if JK's single and the writer is single, what's the issue?

  3. Well, not much of an issue when it's peer to peer dating. When it's boss to subordinate dating, there can be accusations of quid pro quo for her, and favoritism from others. I mean, practically speaking, if you a writer are sleeping with the boss, isn't he going to pick your stuff over the others? And what if he doesn't? Is it because she didn't do xyz last night or because her stuff isn't that great? It's just rife with landmines for both parties, and lots and lots of ri$k for the bossman.

  4. Hmmm, would have thought it would be Ben Affleck.

Nothing scandalous about this to me, happens all the time, but not wise ... hasn't anyone heard the expression don't dip your pen in the company ink??? Sometimes this kind of stuff ends well, sometimes (and most often times) it doesn't.

  5. No one got hurt in this. What the hell? I married someone I met at work too. Big Deal. There was no scandal. Hell Letterman had multiple dalliances with multiple women, while Cohabitating with his child's mother. That's just a slight bit different.

  6. I read about him dating her last year when he and SS originally broke up... the plot thickens!

  7. Uh huh. So we're supposed to believe that someone was just so overwhelmingly attracted to Jimmy f*cking Kimmel that she's risk her job for him? Seriously?

  9. I'm still thinking that Letterman must be hiding an even nastier secret behind the extortion.

  10. Cheryl, I'm with you on that one. Seems weird for all this to come out so long after the fact. I'm betting he came clean publicly so we don't find out why it was better for him this way than having the real truth come out.

That being said, workplace relationships happen all the time between bosses/underlings. If they know what the score is and they can handle it, screw away.
